returning any parts or equipment to Gamatronic for repair or replacement. Any items returned to Gamatronic must be sent freight prepaid.
Gamatronic’s liability and warranty to the product are according and subject to the fulfillment and implementation by the customer of all the
terms and instructions in connection with “preventive maintenance” and “service and repair” as further detailed in the user guide which is
attached to the product and forms an integral part of it.”
Gamatronic is not responsible for any damage to the product due to unauthorized repair work, misuse or abuse of the product, or force
majeure. If the product is delivered without batteries, Gamatronic is not responsible for any damage or malfunction due to incorrect wiring
of the batteries.
Gamatronic is not liable for and the Purchaser waives any right of action it has or may have against Gamatronic for any consequential or
special damages arising out of any breach of warranty, and for any damages that the Purchaser may claim for damage to any property or
injury or death to any person arising out of its purchase or the use, operation or maintenance of the subject product.
This warranty includes parts and labor; however, Gamatronic shall not be responsible for any labor subcontracted or performed by the
Purchaser to prepare the warranted item for return to Gamatronic or Gamatronic's agent.

STANDARDS AND CONVENTIONS
•This user manual contains diagrams which include images of the display screen of the
UPS. Unless otherwise indicated, the readings shown in the screen images are
representational only, and are not intended to match the readings on a specific system in
a particular environment.
•Operation and control of the MegaV2 250 UPS is accomplished through a touch-sensitive
LCD display screen. In this manual, when explaining how to navigate the control software
via the touch-sensitive screen, the terms "tap", "press", "choose", and "select" may be
used interchangeably to indicate selection of a screen option.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
The MegaV2 250 UPS system is designed for industrial applications and harsh environments.
Nevertheless the MegaV2 250 UPS system is a sophisticated power system and should be
handled with appropriate care, following these guidelines.

Do’s
•Read this manual carefully before starting installation and operation of the UPS.
•Review the safety precautions described below to avoid injury to users or damaging
equipment.
•All power connections must be completed by a licensed electrician who is experienced
in wiring this type of equipment, and who is knowledgeable about national and local
electrical codes and regulations. Improper wiring may cause injury to personnel, or
death, or damage to the equipment.
•Pay attention to the warning signs, labels and marks on the unit. A warning sign signals
the presence of a possibly serious, life-threatening condition.
•Keep the surroundings clean, uncluttered and free from excess moisture.
•Allow only qualified technicians to service the UPS. There are no user-serviceable
components. Do not try to repair it yourself!
•Use the UPS only for its intended purpose.
•The batteries should preferably be installed next to the UPS, or as close to it as is
practically possible.
WARNING - RISK OF LETHAL ELECTRIC SHOCK:
The battery cabinet contains a series of 12-Volt batteries that provide high voltage
and energy in the UPS body even when the UPS is not connected to the ac input.
Take appropriate precautions during installation, inspection and servicing.

Don’ts
•Do not open the cover of the UPS or the battery cabinets under any circumstances. All
UPS panels and doors should be closed.
•Do not insert any objects through the ventilation holes.
•Do not put objects on the UPS.
•Do not move the UPS while it is operating.
•Do not use the UPS outdoors.
•Do not turn the UPS upside down during transportation.
•Do not connect or disconnect the cable to the battery cabinet before the battery circuit
breaker is turned OFF.
•Do not turn ON the battery circuit breaker when the battery cabinet is disconnected from
the UPS.
•Do not install the UPS next to gas or electrical heaters. A restricted location is
recommended in order to prevent access by unauthorized personnel.

1. INSTALLATION
ALL POWER CONNECTIONS MUST BE COMPLETED BY A LICENSED

EQUIPMENT,AND WHO IS KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE NATIONAL AND

1.2 Installation Procedure
After completing each step in the following installation, go back to the Installation Checklist and
check the corresponding item.
The MegaV2 250 comes in various models and configurations. The following installation
instructions cover all models and configurations. Any parts of the instructions that apply only to a
specific model or configuration are clearly indicated as such. If no such indication is present, the
procedure applies to all models and configurations.
1.2.1 Visual Inspection
Perform the inspection described here immediately after unpacking the MegaV2 250.
1.Inspect the MegaV2 250 from all sides and ensure that there is no visible damage to any
portion of the housings or covers.
2.Ascertain that the number of modules delivered is as ordered, and that a system controller
module was delivered.
1.2.2 Site Preparation – Physical
Perform the following procedures before connecting any external cables to MegaV2 250.
1.Ensure that the ambient temperature in the immediate vicinity of MegaV2 250 complies
with Gamatronic requirements:
Minimum/maximum operating temperatures: –10 °C / +40 °C (+14 °F / +104 °F).
Recommended operating temperature: between +15 °C and +25 °C (+59 °F and +77 °F).
2.Verify that there is no water condensation or dampness at the installation site.
3.Ensure that sufficient airflow or forced ventilation is present at the location of the battery
cabinets.
4.Verify that the foundation and access routes are adequate for the dimensions and weight of
the UPS and battery cabinets.
5.Ensure that there are adequate clearances to allow comfortable access to battery cabinets
and electrical boards. Recommended minimum clearances around the MegaV2 250 are
provided in Table 1 and Figure 1.

If there is another UPS at the side of the MegaV2, the recommended
clearance increases to 60 cm, due to the additional heat generated by
the second UPS. However, in the case that the two UPSs are being
operated in “A+B” mode, where each UPS operates at no more than
50 % capacity, 40 cm clearance (16 in.) is sufficient.

6. It is recommended that the battery cabinets be located as close to the UPS as is practically
possible.

1.2.3 Site Preparation – Electrical
Perform the following procedures before connecting any external cables to MegaV2 250.
1.Read Chapter 5 “Circuit breaker selectivity” in this installation guide. That chapter includes
recommendations for the size of the circuit breakers on the rectifier input and bypass input
lines.
2. Verify that circuit breakers on the electrical board that supplies MegaV2 250 are compliant
with local and national codes and Gamatronic system specifications.
3. Verify that the input and output power cable connections, GND, and neutral lines comply
with local and national codes and are appropriate for the circuit breakers protecting them.
4. Measure the ac input voltage. Phase-to-phase voltage (measured between L1-L2, L2-L3,
and L3-L1) should be 3x400 Vac ±10 %. Phase-to-neutral voltage (measured at L1, L2, and
L3) should be 230 Vac, ±10 %.
5. Verify that voltage between neutral and ground is between 0 and +2 Vac.
6. Check the dc voltage at the switch of the battery cable and verify that it is
+360 V and -360 V.
1.2.4 Cabling
1.2.4.1 Installing the cable guard
Before connecting the ac input and output lines and the battery lines to the UPS bus bars, the
cable guard must be installed. The cable guard is pictured in Figure 2 and Figure 3.
Bore holes in the rear external panel of the cable guard (item 3 in Figure 3) large enough to
enable the ac cables and the battery cables to pass through. Attach the cable guard's rear panel
(item 3 in Figure 3) to the cable guard (item 2 in Figure 3).

When attaching the ac and dc cables to the UPS (described in the following sections) the cables
must be threaded through the holes that you drilled in the cable guard rear panel.

After the cables have been threaded through the cable guard rear panel and have been
connected to the UPS bus bars, attach the cable guard (item 2 in Figure 3) to the static switch's
rear cover (item 1.1 in Figure 3). Then attach the cable guard cover (item 2 in Figure 3) to the
cable guard.

1.2.4.2 Neutral Line
During both installation and operation of the MegaV2 250, a neutral line must always be
connected to the UPS. This neutral line must be connected at all times while the UPS is working
and should not be disconnected at any time.
Caution: If at any time the neutral line becomes disconnected, there will be no input or output
reference voltage because the input neutral line and the output neutral line are physically linked
together. This may result in the system defining its own reference voltage, which will be set by the
load distribution between the three phases. This may cause serious damage to the UPS.
Caution: A 4-pole switching system can disconnect the neutral line.
Warning: If you have a four-pole mains-to-generator switching system, you are in danger of
having the neutral line disconnected when the four-pole switch is operated. This can result in
the problems described above.
To avoid these problems, we strongly recommend that if you use a four-pole mains-to-generator
switching system, you install an isolation transformer that constantly provides a neutral line to the
UPS.
1.2.4.3 Ac input and output connections

Before connecting the main input and output cables to the MegaV2 250 main terminals, verify
that the circuit breakers on the feed board are in the OFF position.
Connect the rectifier ac input, bypass ac input, and ac output cables to the MegaV2 250.
Refer to Figure 4 or Figure 5 (connection diagrams), Table 3 (maximum input currents), Table 4
(recommended circuit breaker ratings), and to Figure 7 (the UPS’s terminal layout).

1.2.4.4 Assembling and connecting the batteries
1. It is recommended that the battery cabinet(s) be located as close to the UPS as is
practically possible.
2. Assemble the batteries within the battery cabinet and make necessary connections to the
switch inside the battery cabinet.
3. Measure the dc voltage at the switch inside the cabinet.
4. Verify that you obtain values of +360 Vdc (red) and –360 (black) with reference to N (blue).
5. With the battery box circuit breaker in the OFF position, connect the battery box to the
MegaV2 250 battery terminals. Observe proper polarity!
Protect the batteries from moisture, dampness, and foreign substances.
The temperature of the battery's surroundings influences the batteries' useful lifetime.
