Map Data Information
Garmin uses a combination of governmental and
private data sources. Virtually all data sources
contain some inaccurate or incomplete data. In some

in materials or workmanship for two years from

During the initial setup, you can select
a race track outline and statistics to
appear on the watch face.

Racing a Track
1 From the watch face, select START
>Race.
2 Wait while the device locates
satellites.
3 Select a track from the list of
available tracks.
4 Cross the start line to start the
timer.

Racing Metrics
After a race, your watch displays a
summary of your racing metrics. Your
saved races are stored in history,
allowing you to analyze details. Metrics
include:
yFastest lap time
yTotal number of laps
yTop speed
yLap time repeatability score
yFastest average lap times
Lap Time Repeatability Score
Your lap time repeatability score
helps you understand your lap time
consistency. The best drivers are
able to consistently set fast times by
following a similar line on a track. Your
score appears as a percentage, letter
grade, and description. You can improve
your score by making small changes to
improve your consistency, focusing on
how close you are adhering to your line.

Using the Tachymeter
You can use the tachymeter to compute
speed or distance.
1 Hold START.
2 Select START to start the timer.
3 Select STOP to stop the timer.
NOTE: To compute speed, you
should stop the timer at a distance
of 1 mi. or 1 km.
The chronograph

displays the
elapsed time.
4 Refer to the number on the watch
bezel aligned with the tachymeter
second hand

to determine your
speed or distance traveled.
NOTE: When determining speed, the
number on the bezel is the speed
in miles per hour or kilometers per
hour.
5 If necessary, select DOWN to reset
the timer.
Starting the Track Timer
While watching a race, you can use
the track timer to determine the cars’
average speed.
1 From the watch face, select START
>Track Timer.
2 Select UP or DOWN to set the track
distance.
3 Select START to start the timer.
4 Select STOP to stop the timer.
The average speed appears.
Smart Features
Pairing Your Smartphone with Your
Device
To use the connected features of
the MARQ™ device, it must be paired
directly through the Garmin Connect
app, instead of from the Bluetooth®
settings on your smartphone.

1 From the app store on your
smartphone, install and open the
Garmin Connect app.
2 Bring your smartphone within 10 m
(33 ft.) of your device.
3 Select LIGHT to turn on the device.
The first time you turn on the
device, it is in pairing mode.
4 Follow the instructions in the app
to complete the pairing and setup
process.
Setting Up Your Garmin Pay Wallet
The Garmin Pay feature allows you to
use your watch to pay for purchases in
participating stores. You can add one
or more participating credit or debit
cards to your Garmin Pay wallet. Go to
Garmin.com/garminpay/banks to find
participating financial institutions.
1 From the Garmin Connect Mobile
app, select or .
2 Select Garmin Devices, and select
your device.
3 Select Garmin Pay >Create Your
Wallet.
4 Follow the on-screen instructions.
You can open your Garmin Pay wallet
from the controls menu on your device.
See the owner’s manual for more
information on using Garmin Pay.
Music
You can download audio content to
your device from your computer or from
a third-party provider, so you can listen
when your smartphone is not nearby. To
listen to audio content stored on your
device, you must connect headphones
with Bluetooth technology.
You can use the music controls
to control music playback on your
smartphone or to play music stored on
your device.
Syncing the Time with GPS
Each time you turn on the device
and acquire satellites, the device
automatically detects your time zones
and the current time of day. You can
also manually sync the time with GPS
