w r ng could result n damage to the un t and/or create
an electr cal safety hazard.

the power off at the serv ce panel and lock the
serv ce d sconnect ng means to prevent the power
from be ng sw tched on acc dentally. When the
serv ce d sconnect ng means cannot be locked,
securely fasten a prom nent warn ng dev ce,
such as a tag, to the serv ce panel.

Follow the heat ng equ pment manufacturer’s
gu del nes and safety standards, such as those
publ shed by the Nat onal F re Protect on Assoc at on
(NFPA), the Amer can Soc ety for Heat ng, Refr gerat on
and A r Cond t on ng Eng neers (ASHRAE) and the local
code author t es.
•When cutt ng or dr ll ng nto walls or ce l ngs, do not
damage electr cal w r ng and other h dden ut l t es.
•Ducted systems must always be vented
to the outdoors.
•Local codes vary. Installat on of electr cal connect ons
and ground ng must comply w th appl cable codes.
In the absence of local codes, the vent should be
nstalled n accordance w th Nat onal Electr cal Code
ANSI/NFPA 70-1990 or latest ed t on.
