SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
■Use the Water Filtration system on a potable, safe-to-drink, home COLD
water s pply only. The filter canister will not p rify the water, or make it
safe to drink.
■Do not se on a hot water s pply (100°F max.).
WARNING: Do not use with water that is micro iologically
unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection efore or after
the system. Systems certified for cyst reduction may e used on disinfected
water that may contain filtera le cysts.
PROPER INSTALLATION
This Water Filtration system must e properly installed and located in
accordance with the Installation Instructions efore it is used.
■Install or store where it will not be exposed to temperat res below
freezing or exposed to any type of weather. Water freezing in the system
will damage it. Do not attempt to treat water over 100°F.
WARNING: Discard all unused and packaging material after
installation. Small parts remaining after installation could e a choke hazard.
■Yo r Water Filtration system will withstand p to 120 po nds per sq are
inch (psi) water press re. If yo r ho se water s pply press re is higher
than 100 psi, install a press re red cing valve before installing the Water
Filtration system.

Specifications Guidelines.
Many bad tastes and/or odors are red ced from water sing activated
carbon filter canisters. They are most often sed to red ce a chlorine taste
and odor. They can also red ce other ndesirable elements from drinking
water s pplies, s ch as organic chemical contaminants and lead.
NO E: Small amounts of hydrogen sulfide (noticea le as “rotten egg” odor)
may e reduced y taste and odor filters for a short time, ut the car on
media is quickly exhausted. Other water conditioning equipment is usually
required for the continuous treatment of hydrogen sulfide.

Installation Overview
Locate the drinking water system on the cold water supply pipe, under the
kitchen and/or athroom sink, to filter the cold drinking water.

You must follow their guides as you install the Water Filtration
system.
ools and Materials Required for Installation
• Phillips screwdriver
• Two (2) adj stable wrenches
• Electric drill and drill bit to drill 3/4″hole (type as req ired) if mo nting
hole is needed for fa cet
• 1/16″drill bit (optional for pilot holes)
• If yo r main water line is a rigid pipe, yo will req ire a compression
fitting and possibly other pl mbing hardware to complete the installation.
CAU ION: To avoid damaging the sink, consult a qualified
plum er or installer for drilling procedures. Special drill its may e needed
for porcelain or stainless steel.

Cold Water Supply Fitting
A. PREFERRED INS ALLA ION
(Utilizing existing kitchen sink water supply valve and flexi le faucet
tu ing)
A typical connection sing the incl ded water s pply fitting is shown
in the ill stration below.
1. Close the water sh t-off valve that is immediately in front of the
s pply t be and open the fa cets to drain water from the sink cold
water pipe.
2. Remove the n t that connects the cold water fa cet to the s pply
t be. Some water may spill o t.
NO ES:
• Be s re to t rn off the water s pply and open a fa cet to drain
the pipe.
• Make s re the gasket is installed in the water s pply fitting.
3. Hand-tighten the water s pply fitting onto the cold water fa cet.
Be s re the gasket, as shown, is in place before final assembly.
Finish tightening with an adj stable wrench. Be careful not to
overtighten or cross-thread, as damage to the threads can
occur. Make s re the 1/4″q ick connection is not against a wall
that ca ses the s pply t bing connection to bend. A q arter t rn to
tighten or loosen the adapter may be necessary to avoid this.
4. Reconnect fa cet t bing line to the fitting.
5. Install t bing. (See Installing the T bing section.)

B. OP IONAL HOME INS ALLA ION
(Where codes permit)—Saddle Valve: Saddle valve must e a le
to connect with 1/4-inch tu ing supplied with system.
Not supplied with product; check your local hardware or home
service store for product
Saddle valve typically requires 1/2″OD tubing or larger.
NO E: Codes in the state of Massachusetts require installation by a
licensed plumber and do not permit the use of the saddle valve. For
installation, use plumbing code 248-CMR of the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts.
1. T rn off the cold water s pply and install saddle valve as req ired
by prod ct selection. (Be s re to follow man fact rers’ installation
instr ctions.)
DANGER: If hole is required to be drilled in pipe, to
protect yourself from serious injury or fatal shock, use a battery
powered hand drill only to make the hole. DO NO USE AN ELEC RIC
DRILL.
2. Open saddle valve only after complete system has been installed.
C. OP IONAL INS ALLA ION
(For installation with rigid pipe etween supply valve and sink faucet)
Option 1
1. Remove pipe from s pply valve and sink fa cet.
2.
Obtain flexible pipe sized to yo r pl mbing.
3. Install flexible pipe.
4. Go back to A. Preferred Installation section step 3.
Option 2
1. Obtain compression fittings to fit rigid pipe.
2.
Obtain any other fittings req ired to connect compression fittings
to feed water adapter.
3. Remove pipe from s pply valve.
4. C t pipe to fit length of assembled fittings and adapter.
5. Install compression fitting to pipe.
6. Go back to A. Preferred Installation section step 3.
NO E: Above described materials are not included with the product.
Faucet Spout Installations (see Fig. 2, page 8)
1. Remove spo t (A) and fa cet body (B) from fa cet packaging.
2.
Move the threaded dome-shaped collar (C) on the spo t p and away
from the o-rings on the spo t.
3. Gently insert the spo t into the top of the fa cet body.
NO E: urning the spout left to right during installation will help the
o-rings to slide in easily.
4. Once the spo t (A) has been installed and f lly seated, slide the
threaded collar (C) down to the fa cet body (B).
5. Tighten the collar by hand to the fa cet body by t rning in a
clockwise direction.

Faucet Installation
Be s re there is room nderneath and above the sink to make the needed
connections. Before starting, make s re there is s fficient room for the
battery powered fa cet base. Select one of the following places to install
the fa cet:
1. In an existing sink spray attachment or soap dispenser hole.
2. In a hole to be drilled in the sink top.
3. In a hole to be drilled in the co ntertop, next to the sink.
NO E: Be sure the faucet ase will fit flat against the surface at the selected
location so the ottom gasket etween the ase and surface area will seal.
Installation Steps (refer to Fig. 2 for clarification)
1. If drilling is needed, make a 3/4″diameter hole.
Be sure to use the proper procedure for drilling porcelain or stainless
steel. Special drill bits may be needed. Consult a qualified plumber for
the proper procedure.
2. Remove the fa cet with pre-installed t bing, thin o-ring (D), fa cet base
(E), bottom base gasket (F), lock washer (G), hex n t (H) and mo nting
bracket (I) from the packaging.
3.
Feed t bing connected to the fa cet thro gh the thin o-ring (D), fa cet
base (E), bottom base gasket (F), lock washer (G) and hex n t (H).
4. Thread the hex n t (H) p the stem of the fa cet ntil the height
between the bottom of the base gasket (F) and top of the lock washer
(G) is slightly larger than the thickness of the mo nting s rface (J).
5. Lower the fa cet assembly into place in the mo nting hole and
orient to final position. Place the mo nting bracket (I) above the
lock washer (G) aro nd the fa cet stem (Fig. 3). While holding the
mo nting bracket in place, sec rely tighten the hex n t.
NO E: Two people may e required to complete this step.

Mounting System Installation
Pick a location nder the sink to mo nt the system. Location sho ld be
easily accessible with at least 5 inches of clearance between the bottom of
the filter canister and the floor or bottom of the cabinet; any less will res lt
in diffic lty of removing filter canister. Allow eno gh space on either side of
the system for the t bing connections.
A. PREFERRED INS ALLA ION
(Mounting Using the Screw Provided [Fig. 4])
1. Remove shrink wrap from filter system.
2. System sho ld be mo nted to a st d in the wall or solid firm s rface.
3. Use the screw (B) provided to mo nt thro gh the screw hole in the
center of the manifold (A). (Pre-drill a 1/16″pilot hole, if needed).
NO E: If mounting to drywall, with no stud, a drywall anchor (not
included) must e used.
B. OP IONAL INS ALLA ION
(Mounting Using the Mounting ape Provided [Fig. 5])
(If mounting to drywall, the screw must be used also).
1. Remove shrink wrap from filter system.
2. Clean wall s rface to remove any dirt, oil or grease and dry thoro ghly.
3.
Using the do ble-sided mo nting tape provided (C), remove one side of
the protective wax paper and apply the entire piece to the back side of
the manifold (A), applying firm press re to the entire piece.
4. Remove the remaining wax paper from the do ble-sided mo nting
tape (C) and adhere it to the cleaned wall s rface, applying firm
press re to the entire piece.

Installing the ubing
1. Meas re 3/4≤ from the end of each remaining piece of t bing (fa cet
end and inlet end) and mark with a pencil (Fig. 6). (Check for ro ndness,
smoothness, c ts, nicks, flat spots and sharp edges. It may be
necessary to rec t the t bing.)
2. Observe arrows on top of manifold that indicate inlet and o tlet. Fail re
to follow will res lt in water leaks when filter canister is removed.
3. P sh the t bing firmly into each fitting on the manifold ntil the line is
fl sh with the fitting collar. (If the t bing is removed, re-c t the end,
meas re, mark and re-insert). T bing m st be f lly inserted to avoid
leaks (Fig. 7). ( o remove tubing: Depress and hold white collet; pull
tubing out to remove.)
4. P ll o t slightly on t bing to ens re a good seal.
5. Install the other end of the t bing from the inlet side of the manifold to
the feed water adapter.
NO E: Inspect the ends of the t bing to be s re there are no
imperfections and that the end of the t bing is c t sq are. It may be
necessary to c t the t bing again.

Battery Installation
1. Use a small flat blade screwdriver or coin to remove the battery tray (A)
at the side of the fa cet base.
2. Install one CR2032, 3 volt battery (B) + side down into the battery tray
(A) (Fig. 8).
3. Slide tray into fa cet base (C) ntil the battery tray (A) edge is fl sh with
the side of the base.
4. The bl e light (D) will flash 5 times, indicating a proper installation and
system reset.
5. Normally the light is off. After 6 months of se, the light will flash again
every 30 seconds, indicating the proper time to replace the filter
canister.
NO E: The lue light may stop linking if it is allowed to link for an
extended period of time. To ensure proper operation, the attery should e
replaced with every filter change.

canister into the manifold by t rning it to the right abo t 1/3 t rn ntil
the alignment marks line p and the filter stops. DO NO

3. T rn handle on fa cet to allow trapped air to p rge from the system.
NO E: System may make noise during this procedure.
4. Check for water leaks aro nd the system.
5. Once water starts to flow o t of the fa cet, allow the system to r n for
5 min tes to fl sh o t any harmless carbon fines that may be present.
6. T rn off fa cet and check aro nd system for leaks.
7. Remove battery tray and replace battery to reset timer. (See Battery
Installation for proper proced re).
