Diese Anleitung ist eine Ergänzung der mit der Armatur gelieferten Betriebsanleitung.
Sie enthält nur die Informationen, die zum sicheren Ein- und Ausbau des Ausblaseventils
sowie zu dessen Bedienung erforderlich sind. Alle anderen Angaben zum Betrieb finden
Sie in der Betriebsanleitung der Armatur. Diese Anleitung ist nur in Verbindung mit der
Betriebsanleitung gültig.
Beachten und befolgen Sie alle Hinweise in dieser Anleitung und in der Betriebsanlei-
tung der Armatur.
Bewahren Sie diese Anleitung zusammen mit der Betriebsanleitung der Armatur auf.
Hinweise zu dieser Anleitung
Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Das Ausblaseventil dient zu folgenden Zwecken:
 zum Reinigen des Schmutzsiebes
 zum Drucklos machen der Armatur
 zum zusätzlichen Entlüften der Anlage beim Anfahren
Das Ausblaseventil wird in Armaturen der Rhombusline, dem Swivel-Universal-
Anschlussstück und der TRAP-Station anstelle der Verschlussschraube eingebaut.

DEBestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch Fortsetzung
Das Ausblaseventil wird an Armaturen folgender Typen verwendet:
 AK 45
 BK 45
 BK 46
 DK 45
 DK 47
 MK 45
 TS 36
 UCY
Zum bestimmungsgemäßen Gebrauch gehört auch das Beachten und Befolgen aller
Angaben in dieser Anleitung und in der Betriebsanleitung zur Armatur. Dies gilt insbe-
sondere für die Hinweise im Kapitel „Sicherheit“ in der Betriebsanleitung.
Jeder andere Gebrauch des Ausblaseventils gilt als bestimmungswidrig.
Als bestimmungswidrig gilt auch das Einsetzen eines Ausblaseventils aus für das
verwendete Medium nicht geeigneten Materialien.

Lieferumfang
Das Ausblaseventil wird einbaufertig geliefert.
Zum Lieferumfang gehören folgende Teile:
 das Ausblaseventil
 das Schmutzsieb
 eine Dichtung

DEAusblaseventil montieren und demontieren
Gefahr
Bei Arbeiten an den Rohrleitungen sind schwerste Verletzungen oder Tod
durch Verbrennungen oder Vergiftungen möglich.
➢Stellen Sie sicher, dass keine heißen oder gefährlichen Medien im
Gerät und den Rohrleitungen sind.
➢Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Rohrleitungen am Gerät drucklos sind.
➢Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Anlage ausgeschaltet und gegen unbefug-
tes Wiedereinschalten gesichert ist.
➢Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Gerät und die Rohrleitungen handwarm
abgekühlt sind.
➢Tragen Sie für das Medium geeignete Schutzkleidung und verwenden
Sie wenn nötig geeignete Schutzausrüstung.
Angaben zu geeigneter Schutzkleidung und Schutzausrüstung finden Sie im
Sicherheits-Datenblatt für das verwendete Medium.

Um das Ausblaseventil an Stelle der Verschlussschraube einzubauen, gehen Sie wie folgt
vor. Sie benötigen dazu einen Maulschlüssel SW30.
➢Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Armatur drucklos ist.
➢Schrauben Sie die Verschlussschraube aus dem Gehäuse.
➢Entfernen Sie die Dichtung.
➢Entsorgen Sie die Dichtung nach den am Einsatzort geltenden Bestimmungen.
➢Entfernen Sie das Schmutzsieb, wenn vorhanden.
➢Reinigen Sie die Dichtflächen.
➢
Bestreichen Sie beide Gewinde mit temperaturbeständigem Schmiermittel, z.B.OKS 217.
➢Setzen Sie eine neue Dichtung ein.
➢Setzen Sie das Schmutzsieb ein.
➢Schrauben Sie das Ausblaseventil am Sechskant (4) in das Gehäuse.
➢Ziehen Sie die Verschraubung mit einem Drehmoment von 75 Nm (55 ft.lb) an.
➢Entsorgen Sie wenn nötig die ausgebaute Verschlussschraube nach den am Einsatz-
ort geltenden Bestimmungen.

Warnung
Verbrühungsgefahr durch heißes Medium beim Betätigen des Aus-
blaseventils.
➢Tragen Sie die vorgeschriebene Schutzkleidung.
➢Stellen Sie sicher, dass sich keine Personen im Bereich des Medien-
austritts aufhalten.
Vorsicht
Verbrennungsgefahr an heißen Oberflächen oder durch Wärmestrahlung.
➢Tragen Sie für die in der Anlage auftretenden Temperaturen geeignete
Schutzkleidung.

Ausblaseventil bedienen
Zum Ausführen der Funktionen müssen Sie das Ausblaseventil wie folgt öffnen bzw.
schließen. Je nach Armatur sind ggfs. weitere Tätigkeiten erforderlich. Angaben zu
diesen Tätigkeiten finden Sie in der Betriebsanleitung der Armatur.
➢Stellen Sie sicher, dass austretendes Medium in einem ausreichend großen Gefäß
aufgefangen wird.
➢Lösen Sie den Sechskant SW17 (5) langsam.
Das Medium tritt aus. Im Schmutzsieb enthaltene Verunreinigungen werden abgeführt.
➢Ziehen Sie den Sechskant SW17 (5) mit einem Drehmoment von 10 Nm (7 ft.lb) an.

Fehler oder Störungen beheben
Merkmal Ursache Maßnahme
Die Durchflussleistung ist
zu gering. Das Ausblaseventil ist geöffnet. Schließen Sie das Ausblaseventil.
Das Gerät hat Dampf-
verluste. Das Ausblaseventil ist geöffnet. Schließen Sie das Ausblaseventil.
Medium tritt aus (Leckage). Die Anschlüsse
sind undicht. Dichten Sie die Anschlüsse fach- gerecht ab.
Medium tritt aus (Leckage). Das Ausblaseventil
ist undicht. Ersetzen Sie das Ausblaseventil.
Die Durchflussleistung ist
zu gering. Das Gerät ist
kalt oder nur handwarm.
Das Sieb ist
verschmutzt.
Öffnen Sie das Ausblaseventil und
lassen Sie es geöffnet bis das Sieb
sauber ist.

➢Setzen Sie sich mit dem Hersteller in Verbindung, wenn Sie die Störung mit diesen
Hinweisen nicht beheben konnten.

Setzen Sie das Gerät nur bei Betriebstemperaturen über 300°C ein, wenn interkristalline
Korrosion ausgeschlossen werden kann.

About this manual
Use for the intended purpose
The blow-off valve is to be used for the following purposes:
 Cleaning the dirt strainer
 Depressurising the valve
 Additional venting of the system on start-up
The blow-off valve is installed in place of the sealing plug in Rhombusline valves, the
Universal Swivel Connector and the TRAP Station.

Intended use also includes the reading of and adherence to all instructions in this
manual and in the valve Installation & Operating Manual. This applies in particular to the
instructions in the “Safety” section of the Installation & Operating Manual.
Any other use of the blow-off valve shall be considered as improper use.
Improper use also includes the use of a blow-off valve made of materials that are
unsuitable for the medium in question.

DANGER
Personnel working on pipes are exposed to safety risks and may suffer
severe injuries, poisoning or even loss of life.
➢Make sure that no hot or hazardous fluid is in the equipment or the
pipes.
➢Make sure that the pipes upstream and downstream of the equipment
are depressurised.
➢Make sure that the installation is switched off and protected against
unauthorised or unintended activation.
➢Make sure that the equipment and the pipes have cooled down to room
temperatures.
➢Wear protective clothing that is suitable for the fluid and, if necessary,
wear protective gear.
For more information on suitable protective clothing and safety gear refer to the
safety data sheet of the fluid in question.

To install the blow-off valve in place of the sealing plug, proceed as follows.
You will require a size 30 open-ended spanner.
➢Make sure that the valve is not under pressure.
➢Completely unscrew the sealing plug from the body.
➢Remove the seal.
➢Dispose of the seal in accordance with regulations at the location of use.
➢Remove the dirt strainer, if installed.
➢Clean the sealing surfaces.
➢Coat both threads with temperature-resistant lubricant, e. g. OKS 217.
➢Insert a new seal.
➢Insert the dirt strainer.
➢Screw the blow-off valve into the body via the hex nut (4).
➢Tighten the threaded joint to a torque of 75 Nm (55 ft.lb).
➢If necessary, dispose of the removed sealing plug in accordance with regulations
at the location of use.

WARNING
Danger of scalding caused by hot fluid that may escape when the
blow-off valve is operated.
➢Wear the prescribed protective gear.
➢Make sure that nobody is in the vicinity of the fluid outlet.
CAUTION
Hot surfaces and heat radiation present the risk of burns.
➢Wear protective gear that is suitable for the temperatures generated
in your plant.

Operating the blow-off valve
To carry out valve functions, you must open or close the blow-off valve as follows.
Further actions may be required depending on the valve. You can find information on
these actions in the valve Installation & Operating Manual.
➢Make sure that medium exiting the system is caught in a sufficiently large container.
➢Slowly slacken the size 17 hex nut (5).
Medium exits the system. Impurities caught in the dirt strainer are removed.
➢Tighten the size 17 hex nut (5) to a torque of 10 Nm (7 ft.lb).

Troubleshooting
Problem Cause Remedy
The flow rate is too low. The blow-off valve
is open. Close the blow-off valve.
The equipment is losing
steam.
The blow-off valve
is open. Close the blow-off valve.
Fluid escapes
(equipment is leaking). The connections are not tight. Provide the connections with leakproof seals.
Medium is escaping
(leakage). The blow-off valve is leaking. Replace the blow-off valve.
The flow rate is too low.
The equipment is cold or
only lukewarm.
The strainer is
clogged. Open the blow-off valve and leave it open until the strainer is clean.
