Specification
WARNING: Always wear ear protection where the sound level exceeds 85dB(A) and limit the
time of exposure if necessary. If sound levels are uncomfortable, even with ear protection,
stop using the tool immediately and check the ear protection is correctly fitted and provides
the correct level of sound attenuation for the level of sound produced by your tool.
WARNING: User exposure to tool vibration can result in loss of sense of touch, numbness,

Introduction
Thank you for purchasing this GMC tool. This manual contains information necessary for
safe and effective operation of this product. This product has unique features and, even if
you are familiar with similar products, it is necessary to read this manual carefully to ensure
you fully understand the instructions. Ensure all users of the tool read and fully understand
this manual.

General Safety
WARNING Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings
and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
WARNING: This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced, physical or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety. Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with the appliance.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or
battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
1) Work Area Safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust
or fumes
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can
cause you to lose control
2) Electrical Safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not
use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and
matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators,
ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is
earthed or grounded
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the
power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged
or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor
use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock
f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current
device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock
3) Personal Safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a
power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may
result in serious personal injury
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective
equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used
for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before
connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool.
Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the
switch on invites accidents
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or
a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better
control of the power tool in unexpected situations
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing
and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be
caught in moving parts
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection
facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can
reduce dust-related hazards
4) Power Tool Use & Care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The
correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool
that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power
tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons
unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage
of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If
damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained power tools
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting
edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these
instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be
performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result
in a hazardous situation
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained
Sanding Tool Safety
WARNING!
• Hold the power tool by insulated handles or gripping surfaces only, because the sanding
belt/sheet may contact its own cord. Cutting a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of
the power tool ‘live’ and could give the operator an electric shock.
• Use clamps or another practical way to secure the workpiece to a stable platform. Holding
the workpiece by hand or against the body makes it unstable and may lead to loss of
control.
• Recommendation that the tool always be supplied via a residual current device with a
rated residual current of 30 mA or less.
• If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has to be done by the manufacturer
or his agent in order to avoid a safety hazard.
a. ALWAYS wear appropriate protective equipment, including a dust mask with a minimum
FFP2 rating, eye protection and ear defenders
b. Ensure all people in the vicinity of the work area are also equipped with suitable personal
protective equipment
c. Take special care when sanding some woods (such as beech, oak, mahogany and teak),
as the dust produced is toxic and can cause extreme reactions
d. NEVER use to process any materials containing asbestos. Consult a qualified professional,
if you are uncertain whether an object contains asbestos
e. DO NOT sand magnesium or alloys containing a high percentage of magnesium
f. Be aware of paint finishes or treatments that may have been applied to the material that
is being sanded. Many treatments can create dust that is toxic, or otherwise harmful.
If working on a building constructed prior to 1960, there is an increased chance of
encountering lead-based paints

g. The dust produced when sanding lead-based paints is particularly hazardous to children,
pregnant women, and people with high blood pressure. DO NOT allow these people near
to the work area, even if wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
h. Whenever possible, use a vacuum dust extraction system to control dust and waste
i. Be especially careful when using a machine for both wood and metal sanding. Sparks from
metal can easily ignite wood dust. ALWAYS clean your machine thoroughly to reduce the
risk of fire
j. Empty the dust bag or container (where applicable) frequently during use, before taking
breaks and after completion of sanding. Dust may be an explosion hazard. DO NOT throw
sanding dust into an open fire. Spontaneous combustion may occur when oil or water
particles come into contact with dust particles. Dispose of waste materials carefully and in
accordance with local laws and regulations.
k. Work surfaces and sandpaper can become very hot during use. If there is evidence of
burning (smoke or ash), from the work surface, stop and allow the material to cool. DO
NOT touch work surface or sandpaper until they have had time to cool
l. DO NOT touch the moving sandpaper
m.ALWAYS switch off before you put the sander down
n. DO NOT use for wet sanding. Liquids entering the motor housing can cause severe electric
shocks
o. ALWAYS unplug the sander from the mains power supply before changing or replacing
sandpaper
p. Even when this tool is used as prescribed it is not possible to eliminate all residual risk
factors. If you are in any doubt as to safe use of this tool, do not use it

Intended Use
• Random orbit sander with two interchangeable Sanding Bases for medium duty sanding
tasks on various materials
Unpacking Your Tool
• Carefully unpack and inspect your new tool. Familiarise yourself with all its features and
functions
• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing
or damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool
Before Use
WARNING: Ensure the tool is disconnected from the power supply before attaching or
changing any accessories, or making any adjustments.
Selecting the right grade of sanding sheet
• Sanding sheets are available in a variety of different grades: coarse (60 grit), medium (120
grit) and fine (240 grit)
• Use a coarse grit to sand down rough finishes, medium grit to smooth the work, and fine
grit to finish off
• Always use good quality sanding sheets to maximise the quality of the finished task
• It is advisable to do a trial run on a scrap piece of material to determine the optimum
grades of sandpaper for a particular job. If there are still marks on your work after sanding,
try either going back to a coarser grade and sanding the marks out before recommencing
with the original choice of grit, or try using a new piece of sandpaper to eliminate the
unwanted marks before going on to a finer grit and finishing the job
Fitting a sanding sheet
Note: Do not continue to use worn, torn or heavily clogged sanding sheets. Ensure foreign
objects, such as nails and screws, are removed from the workpiece before starting to sand.
WARNING: Do not use a sanding sheet on wood that has previously been used on metal.
This may cause scouring on the wooden surface.
1. Remove any dust or debris from the Sanding Base (8), before fitting a sanding sheet
2. Match the holes in a suitable sheet with the holes in the base (Image A)
3. Simply press the sheet to the base to attach it
4. To remove the sheet, peel it away from the base
Note: To maximise the life of the hook and loop base, peel the sanding sheet off slowly rather
than rapidly removing it to avoid damage to the hook and loop system.
WARNING: Take care to regularly clean out the build-up of dust on the base underneath the
sanding sheet and not to let the sheet wear completely down before replacing it. Failure to
observe these two precautionary measures can lead to damage to the hooks and loops on
the base, and the sanding sheet will not attach properly.
WARNING: Never use the sander unless the entire base is covered by the sanding sheet.
Adjusting the auxiliary handle
• This sander features two handles: the Main Handle (5) with rubber grip and the Auxiliary
Handle (1). The latter can be adjusted to suit the operator’s needs
1. To adjust the Auxiliary Handle, loosen the Auxiliary Handle Locking Knob (9) until you are
able to move the handle easily into the desired position, (Image B)
2. Re-tighten the Auxiliary Handle Locking Knob, (Image C)
WARNING: Always use both handles when operating this sander. NEVER use the machine
when the Auxiliary Handle is not properly adjusted and securely fastened.
Changing the base
WARNING: Always ensure that the tool is switched off and disconnected from the power
supply, before making any adjustments or carrying out maintenance procedures.
• This sander is supplied with two interchangeable bases: a 150mm Sanding Base (8)
fitted to the tool on purchase, and a 125mm Sanding Base (10) which is supplied as an
accessory
• To change Sanding Bases:
1. Turn the sander upside down and remove the four hex screws using the supplied hex key,
(Image D). Take off the base assembly
2. Place the replacement base assembly on the tool and secure it with the four hex screws,
using the hex key

Dust extraction
WARNING: Always connect the sander to a suitable vacuum cleaner or workshop dust
extraction system if the sanding dust contains harmful substances, such as particles from old
paint, varnish, surface coatings etc. Always dispose of harmful dust according to laws and
regulations.
WARNING: Take special care to guard against harmful and toxic dusts when sanding lead-
based painted surfaces, woods and metals, particularly if you are unsure about the exact
substances involved. All persons entering the work area must wear a mask specially designed
for protection against the toxic dust and fumes involved. Children and pregnant women MUST
NOT enter the work area. DO NOT eat, drink or smoke in the work area.
• This sander is designed to be connected to a household vacuum cleaner hose or
workshop dust extraction system. This is the preferred and most effective method of dust
extraction:
1. Fit the Dust Extraction Adaptor (11) to the Dust Extraction Port (4) in place of the Dust
Canister (7), (Image E)
2. Connect a suitable vacuum hose to the Dust Extraction Adaptor
Note: The Dust Extraction Adaptor is designed to fit a 32mm diameter hose.
• If no vacuum dust extraction system is available, the supplied Dust Canister (7) must be
used:
1. Attach the Dust Canister to the Dust Extraction Port (4) of the sander by pushing and
twisting the bayonet fitting, (Image F)
WARNING: For optimum dust extraction, remove and empty the Dust Canister when it is no
more than half full.
2. Remove the cap from the end of the Dust Canister (Image G) to access the internal Dust
Bag (12), (Image H) in order to replace or clean the bag. The Dust Bag can be washed,
but make sure it is completely dry before refitting
WARNING: Remove and DO NOT use the Dust Canister (7) when sanding metal. Hot metal
particles and sparks could ignite residual wood dust, or cause the Dust Bag (12) to catch
fire. Always connect the sander to a suitable workshop dust extraction system when sanding
metal. Always clean the tool THOROUGHLY when switching from sanding wood to sanding
metal, and vice versa.
Adjusting the speed
Note: The speed of this sander can be adjusted to suit the material being sanded.
• To adjust the speed, move the Variable Speed Control Dial (13) (Image I) until you are
satisfied that the speed is what you need for the job in hand: the higher the number shown
on the dial, the faster the speed
Operation
WARNING: Always wear safety goggles, an adequate dust mask, hearing protection and
suitable gloves, when working with this tool.
WARNING: Do not touch the moving sanding sheet.
Note: Always use clamps to secure your workpiece to the workbench wherever possible.
WARNING: NEVER allow the sandpaper to completely wear down before replacing it. Failure
to observe these precautionary measures can lead to damage to the hook and loop surfaces,
resulting in sanding sheets failing to attach properly.
Switching on and off
WARNING: Hold the tool securely and make sure that you have full control at all times.
1. Connect the plug to the power supply
Note: The PowerGLO Indicator (6) neon light will illuminate when the machine is supplied
with mains power.
2. Push the On/Off Switch (3) forward to start the machine
3. Pull the On/Off Switch back to stop the machine
WARNING: Always wait until the machine has stopped vibrating completely before putting it
down. Always disconnect from the power supply after use.
Sanding tips
• If the tool is connected to a vacuum dust extraction system, switch the extraction device on
before switching on the sander. Switch the sander off first, then the vacuum system
• Move the machine in a circular motion over the workpiece surface, applying an even,
moderate pressure until you reach the desired surface finish
WARNING: Excessive pressure does not lead to a faster removal of material; it will however
lead to premature wear of the sanding sheet, and may cause damage to the machine.
• If there are still scratches on your workpiece after sanding, refer to ‘Selecting the right
grade of sanding sheet’

• A range of accessories and consumables, including spare blades, is available from your
GMC stockist. Spare parts can be obtained from toolsparesonline.com
Maintenance
WARNING: ALWAYS disconnect from the power supply before carrying out any
inspection, maintenance or cleaning.
General inspection
• Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight. They may vibrate loose over time
• Inspect the supply cord of the tool, prior to each use, for damage or wear. Repairs should
be carried out by an authorised GMC service centre. This advice also applies to extension
cords used with this tool
Cleaning
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and
shorten the machine’s service life. Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry
cloth. If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes
• Clean the tool casing with a soft damp cloth using a mild detergent. Do not use alcohol,
petrol or strong cleaning agents
• Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts
• Regularly check to see if any dust or foreign matter has entered the grills near the motor
and around the On/Off Switch (4)
Emptying the dust extraction canister
WARNING: Always wear respiratory protection, eye protection and gloves when emptying
the Dust Bag (12).
Note: For optimum dust removal, empty the Dust Bag when it is no more than half full.
1. To remove the Dust Canister (7), rotate it slightly to disengage the bayonet lock, and pull
the Dust Canister off the tool
2. Open the Dust Canister and remove the internal Dust Bag for cleaning
Note: If the sanding dust contains harmful substances, such as particles from old paint,
varnish, surface coatings etc., always dispose of according to laws and regulations.
Note: Always clean the tool THOROUGHLY when switching from sanding wood to sanding
metal and vice versa.
Hook and loop surfaces
• Hook and loop surfaces need to be clean, free of dirt and foreign matter, such as hair,
fibres, sand etc.
• In order to provide adequate adhesion for securing accessories, hook and loop surfaces
must be in good condition
• When used extensively, hooks and loops will become elongated or broken, and the
mechanism cannot provide the required strength of adhesion anymore
Note: This sander’s hook and loop Sanding Bases are NOT a warranty items. Replacement
bases can be obtained through an authorised GMC service centre.

Lubrication
• Slightly lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals with a suitable spray lubricant
Replacing the carbon brushes
Note: This sander is supplied with one set of replacement brushes.
1. To access a carbon brush, first prise open the Removable Side Clips (2) on both sides of
the tool using a wide slotted screwdriver, (Image J) and remove both clips
2. Use a small slotted screwdriver to unscrew the brush caps, (Image K)
3. Remove the carbon brush assemblies
4. Insert the new brush assemblies and replace the brush cap, tightening it with a
screwdriver
5. Replace the Removable Side Clips
Note: After replacing the brushes, you may notice sparking and a smell of burning when the
tool is first used. This is not a hazard. The excessive sparking and the burning smell should
subside as the new brushes bed in.

Geluid- en trillingsniveaus in de specificatie zijn vastgesteld volgens EN60745 of een
gelijksoortige internationale norm. De waarden gelden voor een normaal gebruik in normale
werkomstandigheden. Een slecht onderhouden, onjuist samengestelde of onjuist gebruikte
machine produceert mogelijk hogere geluids- en trillingsniveaus. www.osha.europa.eu biedt
informatie met betrekking tot geluids- en trillingsniveaus op de werkplek wat mogelijk nuttig
is voor regelmatige gebruikers van machinesbetrekking tot geluids- en trillingsniveaus op de
werkplek wat mogelijk nuttig is voor regelmatige gebruikers van machines.
b) Maak gebruik van persoonlijke bescherming. Draag altijd een veiligheidsbril.
Passende bescherming voor de omstandigheden, zoals een stofmasker, niet-slippende
veiligheidsschoenen een helm of gehoorbescherming, vermindert het risico op persoonlijk
letsel.
c) Zorg ervoor dat het apparaat niet per ongeluk wordt gestart. Controleer of de
schakelaar in de ‘uit’ stand staat voordat u de stekker in het stopcontact steekt.
Het dragen van elektrisch gereedschap met uw vinger op de schakelaar of het aansluiten
op de stroom van elektrisch gereedschap met de schakelaar ingeschakeld kan tot
ongelukken leiden.
d) Verwijder alle stel- of moersleutels voordat u het elektrische gereedschap
inschakelt. Een moer- of stelsleutel die zich op een draaiend onderdeel van het
elektrische gereedschap bevindt, kan leiden tot letsel.
e) Reik niet te ver. Blijf altijd stevig en in balans staan. Zo houdt u meer controle over het
elektrische gereedschap in onverwachte situaties.
f) Draag geschikte kleding. Draag geen loshangende kleding of sieraden. Houd haren,
kleding en handschoenen uit de buurt van bewegende delen. Loshangende kleding,
sieraden en los hangende haren kunnen vast komen te zitten in bewegende delen.
g) Als er onderdelen voor stofafvoer- en stofverzameling worden meegeleverd, sluit
deze dan aan en gebruik deze op de juiste wijze. Het gebruik van deze onderdelen kan
het risico op stof gerelateerde ongelukken verminderen.
4) Gebruik en verzorging van elektrisch gereedschap
a) Forceer elektrisch gereedschap niet. Gebruik elektrisch gereedschap dat geschikt
is voor het werk dat u wilt uitvoeren. Geschikt elektrisch gereedschap werkt beter en
veiliger op een passende snelheid.
b) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap niet als de schakelaar van het apparaat niet
in- en uitschakelt. Elektrisch gereedschap dat niet bediend kan worden met de
schakelaar is gevaarlijk en moet gerepareerd worden.
c) Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u instellingen aanpast, toebehoren
verwisselt of het elektrische gereedschap opbergt. Dergelijke voorzorgsmaatregelen
verminderen het risico op het per ongeluk starten van het elektrische gereedschap.
d) Berg elektrisch gereedschap dat niet in gebruik is op buiten bereik van kinderen
en laat mensen die niet bekend zijn met het elektrische gereedschap of met deze
instructies het elektrische gereedschap niet bedienen. Elektrisch gereedschap is
gevaarlijk in de handen van onervaren gebruikers.
e) Onderhoud uw elektrisch gereedschap. Controleer op foutieve uitlijning of het
vastslaan van bewegende delen, gebroken onderdelen en elke andere afwijking
die de werking van het elektrische gereedschap zou kunnen beïnvloeden. Indien
het elektrische gereedschap beschadigd is, moet u het laten repareren voordat u
het weer gebruikt. Veel ongelukken worden veroorzaakt door slecht onderhouden
elektrisch gereedschap.
f) Houd snijwerktuigen scherp en schoon. Goed onderhouden snijwerktuigen met
scherpe messen slaan minder snel vast en zijn gemakkelijker te bedienen.
g) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap, de accessoires en onderdelen, etc. volgens
deze instructies en volgens bestemming voor het specifieke type elektrisch
gereedschap, en houd daarbij rekening met de werkomstandigheden en het uit te
voeren werk. Gebruik van elektrisch gereedschap voor werkzaamheden die verschillen
van die waarvoor het apparaat bestemd is, kan leiden tot gevaarlijke situaties.
5) Onderhoud
a) Laat uw elektrische gereedschap onderhouden door een gekwalificeerde vakman en
gebruik alleen identieke vervangstukken. Zo bent u er zeker van dat de veiligheid van
het elektrische gereedschap gewaarborgd blijft.
Algemene veiligheid voor elektrisch gereedschap
WAARSCHUWING Lees alle bediening- en veiligheidsvoorschriften. Het niet opvolgen
van alle voorschriften die hieronder vermeld staan, kan resulteren in een elektrische schok,
brand en/of ernstig letsel.
WAARSCHUWING: De machine is niet geschikt voor gebruik door personen met een
verminderde mentale of fysieke gesteldheid of een gebrek aan ervaring, tenzij de persoon
wordt begeleid of geïnstrueerd door een persoon verantwoordelijk voor de veiligheid
Bewaar deze voorschriften voor toekomstig gebruik.
De term “elektrisch gereedschap” in alle hieronder vermelde waarschuwingen heeft
betrekking op uw elektrische gereedschap dat op de stroom is aangesloten (met een snoer)
of met een accu wordt gevoed (snoerloos).
Kinderen mogen niet met de machine spelen
1) Veiligheid in de werkruimte
a) Houd de werkruimte schoon en zorg voor een goede verlichting. Rommelige en
donkere ruimtes leiden vaak tot ongelukken.
b) Werk niet met elektrisch gereedschap in explosieve omgevingen, bijvoorbeeld in
de aanwezigheid van ontvlambare vloeistoffen, gassen of stof. Elektrisch
gereedschap brengt vonken teweeg die stof of dampen kunnen doen ontbranden.
c) Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap
bedient. Door afleiding kunt u de controle over het gereedschap verliezen.
2) Elektrische veiligheid
a) De stekkers van het elektrische gereedschap moeten passen bij het stopcontact.
Pas de stekker niet aan. Gebruik geen adapterstekkers bij geaard elektrisch
gereedschap. Het gebruik van ongewijzigde stekkers en passende stopcontacten
vermindert het risico op een elektrische schok.
b) Vermijd lichamelijk contact met geaarde oppervlakken zoals pijpen, radiatoren,
fornuizen en koelkasten. Het risico op een elektrische schok neemt toe als uw lichaam
geaard wordt.
c) Laat elektrisch gereedschap niet nat worden. Wanneer elektrisch gereedschap nat
wordt, neemt het risico op een elektrische schok toe.
d) Beschadig het snoer niet. Gebruik het snoer nooit om het elektrisch gereedschap te
dragen, te trekken of om de stekker uit het stopcontact te trekken. Houd het snoer
uit de buurt van hitte, olie, scherpe randen of bewegende delen. Een beschadigde of
in de knoop geraakte snoer verhoogt het risico op een elektrische schok toe.
e) Wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap buiten gebruikt, maak dan gebruik van een
verlengsnoer dat geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis. Gebruik een verlengsnoer dat
geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis om het risico op een elektrische schok te
verminderen.
f) Indien het onvermijdelijk is elektrisch gereedschap te gebruiken in een vochtige
omgeving, gebruik dan een energiebron met een aardlekschakelaar (Residual
Currency Device). Het gebruik van een RCD vermindert het risico op een elektrische
schok.
3) Persoonlijke veiligheid
a) Blijf alert en gebruik uw gezonde verstand wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap
bedient. Gebruik het elektrisch gereedschap niet wanneer u vermoeid bent of onder
invloed bent van drugs, alcohol of medicijnen. Onoplettendheid tijdens het bedienen
van elektrisch gereedschap kan leiden tot ernstig letsel.

Veiligheid schuurmachines
WAARSCHUWING:
• Houdt de machine bij de geïsoleerde handvaten vast. Wanneer de machine door een
stroomsnoer schuurt komen onderdelen mogelijk onder stroom te stoom te staan wat kan
resulteren in elektrische schok
• Klem het werkstuk op een stevige werkbank vast. Wanneer u het werkstuk met de hand
vasthoudt of tegen uw lichaam klemt, verliest u mogelijk de controle over de machine
• Het is aanbevolen de machine via een aardlekschakelaar met een maximale lekstroom
van 30 mA aan te sluiten op een stroombron
• Laat het stroomsnoer wanneer nodig bij een geautoriseerd GMC service center vervangen
om de kans op persoonlijk letsel te voorkomen
a) Draag te allen tijde de juiste bescherming. Draag een stofmasker (minimale
beschermingswaarde FFP2), veiligheidsbril en gehoorbescherming
b) Het is de verantwoordelijkheid van de gebruiker om ervoor te zorgen dat personen die zich
in de nabijheid van de werkruimte bevinden ook met de gepaste persoonlijke bescherming
zijn uitgerust
c) Neem speciale voorzorgen bij het schuren van bepaalde houtsoorten (zoals beuk, eik,
mahonie en teak), omdat het stof dat daarbij vrijkomt giftig is en bij bepaalde personen
extreme reacties kan teweegbrengen
d) Bewerk geen materiaal wat asbest bevat. Neem contact op met een gekwalificeerd
persoon wanneer u enigszins onzeker bent of materiaal asbest bevat
e) Schuur geen magnesium of legeringen met een hoog magnesiumgehalte
f) Ben bewust van verf op andere behandelingen op het te schuren materiaal. Vele
behandelingen produceren schadelijk zaagsel. Bij werkzaamheden aan een gebouw van
vóór 1960 is de kans op loodhoudende verf groter.
g) Het stof dat vrijkomt bij het afschuren van loodhoudende verf is vooral gevaarlijk voor
kinderen, zwangere vrouwen en personen met hoge bloeddruk. Laat deze personen de
werkplaats niet betreden, zelfs niet met de juiste beschermende kleding
h) Gebruik wanneer mogelijk een stofafzuigsysteem om stof en afval onder controle te
houden
i) Wees vooral voorzichtig wanneer u de machine voor zowel het schuren van hout als het
schuren van metaal gebruikt. Vonken van de metaalbewerking kunnen houtschuurstof
gemakkelijk doen ontbranden. Maak uw machine altijd grondig schoon om de kans op
brand te verkleinen
j) De stofzak dient tijdens gebruik regelmatig, en na elk gebruik geleegd te worden. Zaagsel
is mogelijk een explosierisico. Gooi zaagsel niet in open vuur. Wanneer stofdeeltjes in
contact komen met water of oliedeeltjes ontstaat mogelijk spontane ontbranding
k) Werkvlakken en schuurpapier kunnen tijdens het gebruik erg heet worden. Leg het werk
even stil als het werkvlak tekenen van brand (rook of as) vertoont, en laat het materiaal
afkoelen. Raak het werkvlak of schuurpapier niet aan voordat het is afgekoeld.
l) Raak het bewegende schuurpapier niet aan
m) Schakel de machine uit voordat u het neerlegt
n) Gebruik geen nat schuurpapier. Vloeistoffen gaan mogelijk de motor in wat kan resulteren
in elektrische schok
o) Ontkoppel de machine van de stroomtoevoer voor het maken van enige aanpassingen en/
of het verwisselen van schuurpapier
p) Zelfs wanneer het gereedschap gebruikt wordt zoals is voorgeschreven, is het niet mogelijk
alle resterende risicofactoren te elimineren. Gebruik de machine bij enige twijfel niet

Het uitpakken van uw gereedschap
• Pak uw toestel / gereedschap uit. Inspecteer het en zorg dat u met alle kenmerken en
functies vertrouwd raakt.
• Controleer of alle onderdelen aanwezig zijn en in goede staat verkeren. Als er onderdelen
ontbreken of beschadigd zijn, zorg dan dat deze vervangen worden voor u dit toestel /
gereedschap gebruikt.
Voor gebruik
WAARSCHUWING: Ontkoppel de machine van de stroombron voordat u accessoires
wisselt of enige aanpassingen maakt
Het selecteren van schuurpapier met de juiste korrelgrofte
• Schuurpapier is verkrijgbaar in diverse soorten: grof (60 grit), medium (120 grit) en fijn
(240 grit).
• Gebruik ruw papier voor een ruwere afwerking, een medium grit om het werk glad te
maken en fijn papier als afwerking.
• Gebruik altijd een goede kwaliteit schuurpapier voor een goede kwaliteit van uw werk.
• Het wordt aanbevolen om eerst een proef te doen op een stuk afvalmateriaal om te
optimale ruwheid van het schuurpapier voor een bepaalde klus te bepalen. Als er na
het schuren nog plekken op uw werk zijn, probeer dan ruwer papier om de plekken eruit
te schuren voordat u met uw oorspronkelijke grit begint. U kunt ook een nieuw stuk
schuurpapier proberen om te ongewenste plekken weg te krijgen, voordat u met fijn
schuurpapier de klus afmaakt.
Schuurpapier bevestiging
Let op: Blijf geen versleten, gescheurd of zeer vies schuurpapier gebruiken. Controleer of
vreemde voorwerpen, zoals spijkers en schroeven uit het werkstuk gehaald zijn voordat u
met schuren begint.
WAARSCHUWING: Gebruik geen schuurpapier op hout dat daarvoor op metaal is gebruikt.
Dit kan groeven in het hout veroorzaken.
1. Verwijder eventueel stof en vuil van de schuurzool (8) voordat u schuurpapier bevestigt.
2. Leg de gaten van een geschikt stuk papier over de gaten in de zool (Afbeelding A)
3. Druk het papier op de zool om het te bevestigen.
4. Om het te verwijderen, pelt u het van de zool af.
Let op: Om de klittenband basis zo lang mogelijk mee te laten gaan, is het het beste om het
schuurpapier er langzaam af te trekken. Bij te snel trekken kan de basis beschadigen.

WAARSCHUWING: Zorg ervoor dat u regelmatig de stofophoping op de zool onder het
schuurpapier weghaalt en vervang het schuurpapier voordat het helemaal versleten is. Als u
deze twee voorzorgsmaatregelen niet in acht neemt, kan de 'klittenband'-basis beschadigen
waardoor het schuurpapier niet goed zal blijven zitten.
WAARSCHUWING: Gebruik de schuurmachine uitsluitend als de gehele zool bedekt is door
het schuurpapier.
Hulphandvat verstelling
• Deze schuurmachine heeft twee handgrepen: de rubberen handvat (5) en de hulphandvat
(1). Deze kan naar behoefte versteld worden.
1. Om de hulphandvat te verstellen draait u eerst de vergrendelknop (9) los totdat u de
handvat gemakkelijk in de gewenste stand kunt zetten (Afbeelding B)
2. Draai daarna de vergrendelknop van de hulphandvat weer vast (Afbeelding C)
WAARSCHUWING: Houd bij gebruik altijd beide handgrepen vast van deze schuurmachine.
Gebruik de machine NOOIT als de hulphandvat niet goed afgesteld en vergrendeld is.
Schuurzool wissels
WAARSCHUWING: Zorg er altijd voor dat het gereedschap is uitgeschakeld en trek de
stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u veranderingen aanbrengt of onderhoud uitvoert.
• Deze schuurmachine heeft twee verwisselbare zolen: een zool van 150 mm (8) die bij
aankoop op het gereedschap is gemonteerd en een zool van 125 mm (10) die met het
gereedschap is meegeleverd als toebehoren.
• Verwisselen van de schuurzolen:
1. Draai de schuurmachine ondersteboven en verwijder de vier zeskantschroeven met de
meegeleverde zeskantsleutel (Afbeelding D). Haal de zool van de machine af.
2. Plaats de andere zool op het gereedschap en bevestig de vier zeskantschroeven weer
met de zeskantsleutel.
Stofontginning
WAARSCHUWING: Sluit de schuurmachine altijd aan op een geschikte stofzuiger of
stofafvoersysteem in de werkplaats als het schuurstof schadelijke stoffen bevat, zoals oude
verfdeeltjes, vernis, oppervlaktecoatings etc. Gooi schadelijk stof altijd weg volgens de wetten
en voorschriften.
WAARSCHUWING: Zorg vooral voor bescherming tegen schadelijk en giftig stof bij het
schuren van oppervlakken, hout en metaal met verf op loodbasis, vooral als u niet weet om
welke stof het precies gaat. Iedereen die op de werkplek komt, moet een masker dragen
dat beschermt tegen de betreffende giftige stofdeeltjes en -dampen. Kinderen en zwangere
vrouwen mogen NIET op de werkplek komen. Niet eten, drinken en roken in de werkplek.
• Deze schuurmachine kan op een standaard stofzuigerslang of stofafvoersysteem in de
werkplaats aangesloten worden. Deze methode om stof af te voeren heeft de voorkeur en
is het meest effectief:
1. Bevestig de stofadapter (11) op de stofpoort (4) in plaats van de stofkoker (7)
(Afbeelding E)
2. Sluit een geschikte stofzuigerslang aan op de stofadapter.
Let op: Er past een slang met een diameter van 32mm op de stofafzuigadapter
• Als er geen stofafzuigsysteem beschikbaar is, dan moet de meegeleverde stofkoker (7)
gebruikt worden:
1. Bevestig de stofkoker aan de stofpoort (4) van de schuurmachine door de
bajonetaansluiting in te drukken en te draaien (Afbeelding F)
WAARSCHUWING: Voor een optimale stofafvoer dient u de stofkoker te legen als hij
ongeveer half vol is.
2. Haal de dop van de stofkoker (Afbeelding G) zodat u de interne stofzak (12) er uit kunt
halen en kunt reinigen (Afbeelding H). De stofzak kan gewassen worden, maar zorg
ervoor dat hij helemaal droog is voordat u hem weer terugplaatst
WAARSCHUWING: Verwijder de stofkoker (7) en gebruik hem NIET als u metaal schuurt.
Hete metalen deeltjes en vonken kunnen resten houtstof laten ontvlammen of kunnen
de stofzak (12) vlam laten vatten. Sluit de schuurmachine altijd aan op een geschikt
stofafvoersysteem in de werkplaats als u metaal schuurt. Maak het gereedschap altijd
GRONDIG schoon als u omschakelt van het schuren van hout naar metaal en andersom.
Snelheid regeling
Let op: De snelheid van deze schuurmachine kan geregeld worden al naar gelang het
materiaal dat geschuurd wordt.
• Om de snelheid te regelen draait u aan de snelheidsregelaar (13) (Afbeelding I) totdat u
tevreden bent dat de machine de juiste snelheid heeft: hoe hoger het getal op de regelaar,
hoe sneller hij draait
Gebruik
WAARSCHUWING: Draag altijd een veiligheidsbril, een geschikt stofmasker,
gehoorbescherming en geschikte handschoenen als u met dit gereedschap werkt.
WAARSCHUWING: Raak het bewegende schuurpapier niet aan.
Let op: Gebruik altijd klemmen om uw werkstuk waar mogelijk aan de werkbank te
bevestigen.
WAARSCHUWING: Laat het schuurpapier NOOIT volledig afslijten voordat u het vervangt.
Als u deze voorzorgsmaatregelen niet in acht neemt, kunnen de 'klittenband'-oppervlakken
beschadigen, waardoor het schuurpapier niet goed zal blijven zitten.
Het in- en uitschakelen van de machine
WAARSCHUWING: Houd het gereedschap stevig vast en zorg ervoor dat u er altijd de

Schuurtips
• Als de machine aangesloten is op een stofafzuigsysteem, zet dit dan eerst aan voordat u
de schuurmachine aanzet. Schakel eerst de schuurmachine uit, dan het afzuigsysteem.
• Beweeg de machine in een rondgaande beweging over het werkstuk en geef een
gelijkmatige, middelmatige druk totdat u de gewenste afwerking heeft bereikt.
WAARSCHUWING: Als u veel druk geeft, zal materiaal niet sneller verwijderd worden. Wat er
wel gebeurt, is dat het schuurpapier eerder slijt en dat de machine wellicht beschadigt.
• Als er na het schuren nog steeds krassen op uw werkstuk zijn, lees dan het stuk
'schuurpapier met de juiste korrelgrootte kiezen'.
Accessoires
• Bij uw GMC handelaar kunt u diverse accessoires kopen, waaronder diverse soorten
schuurpapier. Reserveonderdelen zijn te verkrijgen via www.toolsparesonline.com
Onderhoud
WAARSCHUWING: Controleer altijd of de machine uitstaat en de stekker uit het stopcontact
is voordat u veranderingen aanbrengt of onderhoud uitvoert.
Algemene inspectie
• Controleer regelmatig of alle bevestigingsmiddelen nog goed vast zitten. Door vibratie
kunnen ze na enige tijd los gaan zitten
• Inspecteer het stroomsnoer voor elk gebruik op slijtage en beschadiging. Reparaties
dienen uitgevoerd worden bij een geautoriseerd GMC service center. Dit geld tevens voor
verlengsnoeren, gebruikt met de machine
Schoonmaak
• Houd uw machine te allen tijde schoon. Vuil en stof doen de interne onderdelen sneller
slijten, wat de levensduur van de machine aanzienlijk vermindert

• Maak de behuizing van de machine met een zachte borstel of droge doek schoon. Gebruik
geen alcohol, benzine of sterk reinigingsmiddel
• Maak de plastic onderdelen niet met bijtende middelen schoon
• Controleer de grill naast de motor en rondom de aan-/uitschakelaar (4) regelmatig op stof
en vuil
Het legen van de stofkoker
WAARSCHUWING: Draag altijd ademhalingsbescherming, oogbescherming en
handschoenen als u de stofzak (12) leegt
Let op: Voor een optimale stofafvoer dient u de stofzak te legen als hij ongeveer half vol is
1. Om de stofkoker (7) te verwijderen draait hem een klein stukje om de bajonetsluiting los
te maken waarna u de stofkoker eraf kunt trekken
2. Open de stofkoker en verwijder de interne stofzak om hem te reinigen
Let op: Als het schuurstof schadelijke stoffen bevat, zoals deeltjes van oude verf, vernis,
oppervlaktecoatings etc. dan moet dit altijd volgens wetten en voorschriften weggegooid
worden
Let op: Maak het gereedschap altijd GRONDIG schoon als u omschakelt van het schuren
van hout naar metaal en andersom
Klittenband oppervlakken
• De klittenbandvlakken moeten schoon zijn en er mag geen vuil of vreemde deeltjes, zoals
haar, vezels, zand etc. op zitten.
• Voor een goede hechting van de accessoires, moeten de klittenbandvlakken in goede
staat verkeren.
• Als ze extensief gebruikt worden, dan rekken de haken en lussen uit of breken ze en dan
heeft het mechanisme niet meer de benodigde kracht of hechting.
Let op: De klittenbandzool van deze schuurmachine valt NIET onder de garantie.
Reservezolen kunnen besteld worden bij een geautoriseerd GMC servicecentrum.
Smeren
• Smeer alle bewegende onderdelen regelmatig met een geschikt smeermiddel
Het vervangen van de koolstofborstels
Let op: Deze schuurmachine wordt met één reserveset koolborstels geleverd.
1. Om bij de koolborstel te kunnen, heft u met een platte schroevendraaier de zijklemmen
(2) op aan beide zijden van het gereedschap (Afbeelding J). Verwijder dan beide
klemmen
2. Schroef het deksel van de borstelhouder met een kleine, platte schroevendraaier open
(Afbeelding K)
3. Verwijder de koolborstel
4. Plaats de nieuwe koolborstel, plaats het deksel van de borstelhouder terug en zet deze
vast met een schroevendraaier
5. Plaats de zijklemmen weer terug
Let op: Nadat u de borstels hebt vervangen, kan het zijn dat u wat vonken ziet en een
brandlucht ruikt wanneer u het gereedschap voor het eerst weer gebruikt. Dit is niet
gevaarlijk. Het vonken en de brandlucht worden snel minder als de nieuwe borstels zich
zetten

c) Eviter tout démarrage accidentel ou intempestif. S’assurer que l’interrupteur
marche-arrêt soit en position d’arrêt avant de brancher l’appareil sur l’alimentation
secteur ou d’installer la batterie, de prendre l’appareil ou de le transporter. Porter
un appareil électrique tout en maintenant le doigt posé sur l’interrupteur ou brancher un
appareil électrique dont l’interrupteur est sur la position de marche est source d’accidents.
d) Enlever toute clé et tout instrument de réglage avant de mettre l’appareil électrique

4) Utilisation et entretien des appareils électriques
a) Ne pas forcer sur l’appareil électrique. Utiliser l’appareil électrique approprié au
travail à effectuer. Un appareil électrique adapté et employé au rythme pour lequel il a été
conçu permettra de réaliser un travail de meilleure qualité et dans de meilleures conditions
de sécurité.
b) Ne pas utiliser un appareil électrique dont l’interrupteur marche-arrêt est hors
service. Tout appareil électrique dont la commande ne s’effectue plus par l’interrupteur
marche-arrêt est dangereux et doit être réparé.
c) Débrancher l’appareil électrique ou démonter sa batterie avant d’effectuer tout
réglage ou changement d’accessoire et avant de le ranger. De telles mesures
préventives réduiront les risques de démarrage accidentel.
d) Ranger les appareils électriques inutilisés hors de portée des enfants et ne pas
permettre l’utilisation de cet appareil aux personnes non habituées à son maniement
ou n’ayant pas lu les présentes instructions. Les appareils électriques sont dangereux
dans les mains d’utilisateurs inexpérimentés.
e) Veiller à l’entretien des appareils électriques. Vérifier que les éléments rotatifs
soient bien alignés et non grippés. S’assurer de l’absence de pièces cassées
ou endommagées susceptibles de nuire au bon fonctionnement de l'appareil. Si
l’appareil électrique est endommagé, le faire réparer avant toute utilisation. De nombreux
accidents sont dus à l’utilisation d’appareils électriques mal entretenus.
f) Veiller à ce que les outils de coupe soient tenus affûtés et propres. Des outils de
coupe bien entretenus, aux tranchants bien affûtés, sont moins susceptibles de se gripper
et sont plus faciles à contrôler.
g) Utiliser l’appareil électrique, les accessoires et outils à monter conformément à ces
instructions, en tenant compte des conditions de travail et de la tâche à réaliser.
Toute utilisation d’un appareil électrique autre que celle pour laquelle il a été conçu peut
entraîner des situations à risque.
5) Révision
a) Ne faire réparer votre appareil électrique que par un réparateur qualifié utilisant
uniquement des pièces de rechange identiques. Cela permet de maintenir la sécurité
d’utilisation de l’appareil électrique.

1) Sécurité sur la zone de travail
a. Maintenir une zone de travail propre et bien éclairée. Des zones encombrées et mal
éclairées sont sources d’accidents.
b. Ne pas utiliser d’outils électriques dans des environnements explosifs, tels qu’à
proximité de liquides, de gaz ou de poussières inflammables. Les outils électriques
produisent des étincelles susceptibles d’enflammer la poussière ou les vapeurs présentes.
c. Éloigner les enfants et les passants pendant l’utilisation d’un outil électrique.
Ceux-ci pourraient vous distraire et vous faire perdre la maîtrise de l’appareil.
2) Sécurité électrique
a) La prise d’un appareil électrique doit être adaptée à la prise du secteur. Ne jamais
modifier la prise en aucune façon. Ne jamais utiliser d’adaptateur sur la prise électrique
d’appareil mis à la terre. Des prises non modifiées, adaptées aux boîtiers de prise de
courant, réduiront le risque de décharge électrique.
b) Eviter le contact corporel avec les surfaces mises à la terre telles que tuyaux,
radiateurs, cuisinières et réfrigérateurs. Le risque de décharge électrique est plus
important si le corps est mis à la terre.
c) Ne pas exposer l’appareil électrique à la pluie ou à l’humidité. L’infiltration d’eau dans
un appareil électrique accroît le risque de décharge électrique.
d) Ne pas maltraiter le cordon électrique. Ne jamais utiliser le cordon électrique pour
porter, tirer ou débrancher l’appareil. Protéger le cordon électrique de la chaleur, du
contact avec l’essence, des bords tranchants et pièces rotatives. Un cordon électrique
endommagé ou entortillé accroît le risque de décharge électrique.
e) Lors d’une utilisation de l’appareil électrique en extérieur, se servir d’une rallonge
appropriée à une utilisation en extérieur. Cela réduit le risque de décharge électrique.
f) Si une utilisation de l’appareil électrique dans un environnement humide ne peut être
évitée, utiliser une alimentation protégée par un disjoncteur différentiel. L’utilisation
d’un disjoncteur différentiel réduit le risque de décharge électrique.
3) Sécurité des personnes
a) Rester vigilent et faire preuve de bon sens lors de la manipulation de l’appareil. Ne
pas utiliser un appareil électrique lorsque l’on se trouve dans un état de fatigue, ou
sous l’influence de drogues, d’alcool ou de médicaments. Un moment d’inattention
pendant l’utilisation d’un outil électrique peut se traduire par des blessures graves.
b) Porter un équipement de protection approprié. Toujours porter une protection oculaire.
Le port de masque à poussières, chaussures de sécurité antidérapantes, casque de
sécurité et protections antibruit adaptés aux différentes conditions de travail réduit le risque
de blessures corporelles.

Consignes de sécurité relatives aux appareils de
ponçage
AVERTISSEMENT !
• Tenez l’outil uniquement par les surfaces de préhension isolantes, pendant les opérations
au cours desquelles l’accessoire coupant peut être en contact avec des conducteurs
cachés ou avec son propre câble. Le contact de l’accessoire coupant avec un fil sous
tension peut mettre sous tension les parties métalliques exposées de l’outil électrique et
provoquer un choc électrique sur l’opérateur.
• Utilisez un étau ou tout autre moyen pratique et sûr pour maintenir la pièce de travail
stable. Le fait de la tenir entre ses mains ou contre son corps la rend instable et peut
conduire à une perte de maîtrise de l’objet.
• Il est recommandé d’utiliser un dispositif à courant différentiel avec un courant résiduel
nominal de 30 mA ou moins.
• Si le remplacement du câble d’alimentation s’avérait necessaire, celui-ci ne devrait être
réalisé que par le fabriquant ou un centre agréé afin d’éviter tout risque pour la sécurité.
a. Munissez-vous TOUJOURS des équipements de sécurité appropriés, parmi lesquels un
masque contre les poussières d’une protection minimum FFP2, des lunettes de sécurité et
un casque anti-bruit.
b. Il vous appartient de veiller à ce que les personnes se trouvant à proximité de votre zone
de travail soient également protégées par des équipements adéquats.
c. Observez une prudence particulière lors du ponçage de certaines essences de bois (le
hêtre, le chêne, l’acajou et le teck, par exemple) car la poussière produite est toxique et
peut provoquer des réactions aiguës chez certaines personnes.
d. N’utilisez JAMAIS cette ponceuse sur des matériaux contenant de l’amiante. Si vous n’êtes
pas certain de la présence ou non d’amiante, veuillez consulter l’avis d’un professionnel.
e. NE poncez PAS le magnésium ni les alliages qui en contiennent une proportion élevée.
f. Tenez compte des peintures de finition et des traitements qui peuvent avoir été appliqués
sur la matière à poncer. De nombreux traitements peuvent produire une poussière toxique
ou dangereuse pour la santé. Si vous travaillez dans un bâtiment dont la construction est
antérieure à 1960, sachez que la présence de peintures à base de plomb est fort probable.
g. La poussière produite par le ponçage des peintures à base de plomb est particulièrement
dangereuse pour les enfants, les femmes enceintes et les personnes atteintes
d’hypertension. Faites en sorte que ces personnes SE TIENNENT A L’ECART de la zone
de travail, même si elles portent un équipement de protection adéquat.
h. Dans la mesure du possible, employez un système d’extraction des poussières pour mieux
contrôler la dispersion des poussières.
i. Observez la plus grande prudence lors de l’utilisation d’un même appareil pour poncer le
bois et le métal. Les étincelles du métal peuvent aisément enflammer les poussières de
bois. Nettoyez toujours complètement l’outil pour réduire le risque d’incendie.
j. Videz régulièrement le sac ou conteneur de possières (si applicable) durant l’utilisation
de l’appareil, avant de faire une pause et après avoir fini de réaliser votre ponçage.
L’accumulation de poussières peut constituer un risqué d’explosion. NE PAS jeter les
poussières de ponçage à une flame nue. Une combustion spontanée peut se produire
lorsque des particules d’eau et d’huile entrent en contact avec des particules de
poussières. Veuillez éliminer les déchets produits avec précaution et en respectant les
règlementations en vigueur.
k. Les surfaces de travail et le papier abrasif peuvent atteindre des températures très élevées
au cours du travail ; en cas de signe de combustion (fumée ou cendre) de la surface de
travail, arrêtez l’opération en cours et attendez que le matériel refroidisse. NE touchez PAS

Usage conforme
• Ponceuse excentrique avec deux patins interchangeables pour des opérations de ponçage
moyen sur différents types de matériaux.
Déballage
• Déballez le produit avec soin. Veillez à retirer tout le matériau d’emballage et familiarisez-
vous avec toutes les caractéristiques du produit.
• Si des pièces sont endommagées ou manquantes, faites-les réparer ou remplacer avant
d’utiliser l’appareil.
Avant utilisation
ATTENTION : Assurez-vous que l’outil est éteint et débranché de la source
d’alimentation avant d’installer ou d’enlever un accessoire ou d’effectuer tout réglage.
Choisir le disque abrasif approprié
• Les disques abrasifs sont disponibles avec des grains de ponçage différents : grossier
(grain 60), moyen (grain 120) et fin (grain 240).
• Utilisez un grain grossier pour un dégrossissage, un grain moyen pour rendre la pièce de
travail lisse, et un grain fin pour une finition parfaite.
• Utilisez toujours des disques abrasifs de bonne qualité pour optimiser la qualité de finition
de la tâche.
• Il est recommandé d’effectuer un test sur une chute de matériau pour choisir le papier
abrasif adéquat selon la tâche à réaliser. S’il y a toujours des marques après le ponçage,
essayez de les enlever en ponçant à nouveau avec le disque à grain grossier avant de
recommencer à poncer avec le grain initial ; ou essayez d’utiliser un nouveau disque
abrasif pour éliminer les marques indésirables avant de passer à un grain plus fin pour
finir le travail.
