Thisunitisdesigned tooperateon a230V~50Hzsupplyonly.Connecting ittootherpower
sourcesmaydamage it. Ensurethatthe supplycorrespondstothe information on the rating
labelon the bottomofthe unit.
Thismicrosystemmaybe fitted withanon-rewireableplug.If itisnecessarytochange the
fuseinanon-rewireableplug the fusecovermustbe refitted.If the fusecoverbecomeslost
ordamaged,the plug mustnotbe used until areplacement, availablefromthe manufacturer,
isobtained.It isimportantthatthe colourofthe replacementfusecovercorrespondswith
the colourmarking on the baseofthe plug.
Iftheplugneedstobechangedbecauseitisnotsuitableforyoursocket,orbecomesdamaged,
itshouldbe cutoff and an appropriateplug fitted following the wiring instructionsbelow.The

coloured black.

Thereshouldbe no connection tothe earthterminalofyourplug.
If a13 Amp(BS 1363)Plug isused,a3AmpFusemustbe fitted,orifanyothertype ofPlug
isuseda3Ampor5AmpFusemustbefitted,eitherinthePlugorAdaptor,orontheDistribution
Board.

Press downofthe compartmentcover,andslide
the coveroff toopen the compartment.
Place the two(UM3),(AA),(R6)batteriesinthe
remotecontrolaccordingtothe polaritymarkings
("+"and"--')insidethe compartmentandon the
batteries.Place the coveroverthe compartment,
press downlightly,andpushitupwarduntil it
clipsintoplace.
NOTE:Replace all batteriesatthe sametime.
Removethe batteriesifthe remotecontrolis
notinuseforlongperiods.Donotmixnormal
batterieswithrechargeablebatteries.When the
batteriesbecomeweak,the remotecontrolwill
notfunction,replace withnewbatteriesifthis
happens.

INSTALLING THESPEAKERWIRETOTHESPEAKERTERMINALS
1.SpeakersConnection
Extendthe SPEAKERWIRES andconnectthemtothe SPEAKERTERMINALS,the wirewithwhite
markconnecttoRedterminal,the wirewithoutwhitemarkconnecttoBlackterminal.
2.PowerCordConnection
Beforeusing,connectthe ACPowerCordtothe ACoutlet, then turnon the mainswitch ofthe unit.
OPERATING THEUNIT
PLEASE NOTE:THISUNITWAS TWOPOWERSWITCHES.BEFOREUSE PLEASE ENSURE
THESWITCH ONTHEREAROFTHEUNITISINTHE"ON"POSITIONTHENPRESS THE
STANDBY BUTTONTOTURN ONTHEUNIT.
You can press the POWERbutton on the unit(oron the remotecontrol)toswitch the unitONand
OFF.Pull the ACplugoutofthe wall socketifyou wanttoswitch off completely.
POWER/STANDBY
1.Press POWERbutton on the unit(orremote)toswitch the uniton.
2.Selectthe soundsource (CD,RadioorAux)bypressingcorrespondingfunction key.
3.Adjustthevolumewiththe VOLUME(UPorDOWN)button onremoteorbyusingvolumeknobon the
frontpanel.
4.Setthe presetequalizer(classic,rockorpop)withthe PRESETEQbutton on the unit(orremote)
5.Press POWERbutton toswitch off the unit.
CLOCKSETTING
To setthe clockthe unitmustbeinstandby.
1.Press andholdMEMORY/C-ADJ.button until "24 H"showson diplay.
2.UseTUNING/SKIP/SEARCH REV.orF.F.button tosettimeformat. (12 houror24 hour)
3.Press MEMORY/C-ADJbutton againandthe hourdigitswill flash.UseTUNING/SKIP/SEARCH
REV.orF.F.button tosetthe currenthour.
4.Press MEMORY/C-ADJbutton forathirdtimeandthe minutedigitswill flash.UseTUNING/SKIP/
SEARCH REV.orF.F.button tosetthe currentminute.
5.Press the MEMORY/C-ADJ.button forafinaltimetosetthe clock.
TIMERSETTING
1.Press TIMERbutton until TIMERisshownon display,
2.Press andholdMEMORY/C-ADJ.button,andthen press TUNING/SKIP/SEARCH REV.orF.F.
button toadjusthouron time.
3.Press the MEMORY/C-ADJ.button.UseTUNING/SKIP/SEARCH REV.orF.F.button to
adjustminutesdigitsofon time.
4.Press andhold"TIMER"button,"TIMER"symbolon the displaywill illuminate.
5.The volumelevelwnen the unitturnson isequaltolastvolumelevelsetandthe source
isthe lastsource listenedto.
SNOOZE SETTING (forRemoteControl)
Afterthe timerhasturnedon the unit, the snoozebutton can beusedtoturnthe unitoff forFIVE
minutes.Afterthistimethe unitturnson again.
TOSET SLEEP FUNCTION
1. If you wanttofall asleeptomusic,press SLEEP button.
2.You mayadjustthe radioorCD player'ssleepfunction toturnoff after90,80,70 upto10 minutesof
music.Each press ofthe button will cyclethrougheach ofthe optionsasfollows.

1.Press the TUNERbutton toselectthe Radio.
2.Selectthe desiredwavebandusingthe STOP/BAND button.
Manualtuning
1.Totunetoastationsmanuallypress the TUNING/SKIP/SEARCH REV.orF.F.button usingrepeated
briefpressesuntil the station isfound.
2. If station isbroadcastinginstereo andyou haveselectedtolisten instereo usingthe Stereo /
Mono select, button the ""indicatorwill appearon the display.
3. If thereisalargeamountofbackgroundnoisewhen listeningtoaststion instereo,usethe
Stereo /Mono selectbutton tolisten inMONO.
Automatictuning
1.Press andholdTUNING/SKIP/SEARCH REV.orF.F.button forsecondormore,then releasethe
button.The tunerwill automaticallysearch forthefirststation ofsufficientsignalstrength.
2.Repeatthe aboveprocedureifyou wishtosearch foranotherstation.
Programming PresetsStation
You can alsopresetstationsofyourchoice andstoreupto10 MWand10 FMstationsinmemory.
To storeyourselectedstation:
1.Press the STOP/BAND button toselectrequiredwaveband.
2.Tune tothe requiredstation.Usingeitherabovemethod.
3.Press MEMORY/C-ADJ.button
4.Press REPEAT/MEMORYUPbutton toselectthe presetnumbertostorethe station in.
5.Press MEMORY/C-ADJ.againtoconfirmyourselection.
6.To programmorestationsintomemory,repeatthe abovesteps2to5.
7.To changethe storedpresetstations,repeatthe abovesteps2to5.
Notes:
1.Storinganewstation intoapresetlocation will erasethe previouslystoredstation inthatlocation.
2.Poweroff /failureorpowercorddisconnection will clearthe memoryofall presetstations.
Install 3AA sizebatteriesintothe compartmenton thebottomofthe unitformemorybackupinthis
eventofpowerloss.
Selecting PresetStations
1.Press the STOP/BAND button toselectthe desiredMW/FMstations.
2.Press REPEAT/MEMORYUPbutton toselectthe desiredpresetstation number.
3.The numericlocation ofthatpresetstation isdisplayedalongwiththe corresponding

1.Open the CD doorusingCD DOOR(OPEN/CLOSE)BUTTON.
2. Insertthe CDdiscintothe CD compartment,presstheCDDOOR(OPEN/CLOSE)BUTTONagain.
3.Press the CD button.
Playing TheEntireDisc
1.Press the PLAY/PAUSE tostartplayback.
Playbackstartswiththe firsttrack.The displayshownthe currenttracknumberanditselapsedtime.
2.To pauseplayback,press PLAY/PAUSE.The timeelapsedindicatorwill flash.
3.To resumeplayback,press PLAY/PAUSE again.
4.To stopplayback,press STOP.
Selecting ADifferentTrack
1.PressTUNING/SKIP/SEARCH REV.orF.F.buttonontheunit(orremote)repeatedlyuntiltherequired.
tracknumberappearsinthe display.
2.Press PLAY/PAUSE button tostartplayback.
RepeatPlay
1.To repeatthe trackyou arelisteningtopress the REPEATbutton once and"REPEAT"will flash
on the display.
2.To repeatall ofthe tracks press the REPEATbutton twice and"REPEAT"showsconstantlyon
the display.
3.To cancelrepeatpress repeatuntil "REPEAT"isremovedfromdisplay.
RandomPlay
1.Press the RANDOMbutton once,andthe "RANDOM"indicatorwill lightupandthe discwill
startplayinginrandomorder.
2.Press STOPbutton orRANDOMbutton toexitrandommode.
Stopping Play
1.PressSTOPifyouwishtostopplayback.Thetotalnumberoftrackandtotaltimewill nowappearinthe
display.
2.Open the CD dooron the unittoremovethe CD.
Programming theCD Player
You can programupto20 tracks tobeplayedinanyorder.
1.Place the disctobeprogrammedinthe tray.Press MEMORY/C-ADJ.button.
2.The displaywill showTRACKandP-01.
3.UseTUNING/SKIP/SEARCH REV.orF.F.button toselectthe firsttracktobeprogrammed.
4.When the desiredtrackappearson the display,press MEMORY/C-ADJ.button again.
5.The displaywill showTRACKandP-02.
6.Repeatthisproceduretoselectothertracks thatyou wishtoprogramintothe memory.
Playing aprogram
1.Press PLAY/PAUSE.
2.Playstartswiththe firsttrackofthe program.
3.When all trackhavebeen played,the displayshowsthe totalnumberoftracks andthe total
playingtimeofthe CD.
Erasing aprogram
Aprogramiserasedifyou :
Press MEMORY/C-ADJ.button then STOPbutton when the CD isstoppedorswitch the unitOFF
oropeningthe CD door.

If an abnormalsituation occursinthe display,press the resetbutton on the backofthe unit.

To add EQeffecttothe sound.

MUTE
1.Press the MUTEbutton,"MUTE"will showon the displaythe audiooutputwill bemuted.
2.Press MUTEbutton again,"MUTE"will disappearfromdisplaythe audiooutputwill resume.
AUXPLAY
1.Press the AUXbutton once andthe "AUX"indicatorwill showon the display.
2.UseacablewithRCAplugstoconnectaudioequipment(turntable,players,VCRs,etc.)
LISTENTOTHEMUSICUSING HEADPHONES
Astereo headphone jackisprovidedforprivatelistening.To listen tothe unitwithheadphones(not
included)insertthe 3.5mm mini-stereo plugfromthe headphonesintothe PHONES jackon the
frontpanel.The externalspeakersareautomaticallydisconnectedwhen headphonesareinuse.
MEMORY BACK-UP
Insert3xAA orequivalentbatteriesinthe batterycompartmenton the undersideofthe unit. It is
usedtoback-upthe memoryofthe mainCPU.
