operating instructions carefully and retain this booklet for future reference. We have
carefully engineered your Greenway®Water Dispenser to give you years of enjoyment and
trouble free operation.

WARNING: This water dispenser is designed for indoor applications only. DO NOT use outdoors.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Your Greenway®water dispenser is designed with a special "safety" feature (float switch
mechanism) that controls activation/operation of the Kettle Feature hot water tank heating system. If no water is
present and/or low water levels are detected inside the internal water reservoir, activation/operation of the
Kettle Feature hot water heating system is not possible. Likewise, if the hot water heating system is operational and
water is being drawn simultaneously causing internal water levels to drop below the established minimal level set
point, hot water tank operation is automatically suspended. To reactivate the hot water heating system, you must
replenish your water supply.
NOTE: Operation of the cold water system is not affected by this safety feature.

extended period of time, place the water dispenser in the upright position for approximately 12 hours before turning it on.

Please follow the cleaning instructions outlined in this manual and clean the
dispenserevery4months.
To avoid water overflow when cleaning your dispenser, always remove the
bottle support collar before pouring water or cleaning solution into the
reservoir.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
•Improperuseofthegroundingplugcanresultinariskofelectricshockcausingseriousinjury,evendeath.
•Thisappliancemustbegrounded.Intheeventofanelectricalshortcircuit,groundingreducestheriskofelectric
shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current.
•Thisapplianceisequippedwithapowercordhavingagroundingwirewithagroundingplugandmustbe
connectedintoaproperlygroundedpolarizedoutlet.Consultaqualiedelectricianifthegroundinginstructionsare
notcompletelyunderstood,orifdoubtexistsastowhethertheapplianceisproperlygrounded.Ifthewalloutletisa
standard 2 prong outlet, it is your personal responsibility and obligation to have it replaced with a properly grounded
3-prongwalloutlet.

Likemostappliances,yourwaterdispenserrequiresperiodicmaintenancefor
maximumefciencyandperformanceandmustbecleanedonaregularbasis
(i.e.every4months).Tomaintainahygienicenvironmentwithinyourwater
dispenserandpreventpotentialformation(growth)ofbacteria,westrongly
recommend regular cleaning. A cleaning kit is available through our Customer
Service Department at 1-866-253-0447 or can be ordered on line
at www.greenwaywt.com.
1. Make sure the unit is unplugged.
2. Remove the bottle support collar, saturate a clean cloth with a Greenway®
water dispenser cleaner or vinegar and wipe the inside of the reservoir.
3. Pourthewaterdispensercleaneroramixtureof4cups/1Lofvinegar
with4cups/1Lofhotwaterintothereservoirandwait20minutes.
IMPORTANT: To avoid water overflow while cleaning the dispenser, always
remove the bottle support collar before pouring water or cleaning solution
into the reservoir (see Figure A).
4. Press both dispensing buttons until water no longer comes out.
5. Using a bucket, drain the reservoirs from the drain valve on the
back of the unit.
6. Rinseagainwithcleanwater,re-installdrainvalveplugandcover.
7. Place bottle support collar back on top of dispenser.
IMPORTANT: Always wash your hands first! Clean the top (neck) of the bottle with a clean cloth and do not touch
the part of the unit that the water touches. Make sure the unit is unplugged. The water bottle can be purchased
from your local retailer.
1. Remove the protective cap from the end of the water bottle unless the bottle has a puncturable
cap or sticker.
2. Liftandturnthebottleupsidedown,placingitsecurelyonthebottlesupportcollar.
3. Pressandholdbothdispenserbuttonsuntilwaterowsfromthedispenser.Drainabout4cups/1Lofwater
before initial use. This does not need to be repeated with replacement bottles.
4. Plug in the water dispenser.
5. Ready-to-dispenseindicatorlightswillcomeonwhenwaterreachesoptimumtemperatureandisreadyforuse.In
ordertogetsteaminghotwater,theKettleFeatureneedstobeactivated (see Dispensing Hot Water).

Initial Product Cleaning Procedure
Installing the Water Bottle
The bottle support collar on your water dispenser is engineered with a special
anti-leak-proofsystemtopreventaccidentallossofwater,(ooding)asaresult
of inadvertently installing a defective water bottle. Unfortunately, not all water
bottlesarecreatedequal.Almostall3and5gallon(12&19L)waterbottlesare
recycledandhandledextensivelyduringcleaning,lling,andshipping.Asa
result, they are very prone to developing hairline fractures and pinhole leaks that
are not always obvious to the end user until the time of installation.
IMPORTANT: Never knowingly install a defective water bottle on a water
dispenser. Return immediately for replacement.
Ifyouareexperiencingaleak,thissimpletestwillallowyoutodetermine
whether your water bottle or dispenser is the source of the problem.
1. Unplug the unit and remove the water bottle.
2. a)Removethebottlesupportcollarandcheckthewaterlevelinsidethe
reservoir–itshouldbeatroughlythree-quartersfull.
b)Pleaseaddordrainafewglassesofwatertoachievetherequired
lllevel.
3. Closelymonitorthewaterlevelinsidethereservoir,(1-2hours)ifthe
water level drops, immediately drain the remaining water from the unit and
call customer service at 1-866-253-0447.Ifthewaterlevelremains
constant it is the water bottle not the dispenser that is leaking. Please
contact your water supplier for a replacement bottle.

Placeaglassunderthespigot.Forcoldwater,pressthebluebuttonuntilthedesiredamountofwaterisdispensed.
BeforetheKettleFeatureisactivated,theredbuttondispensesroomtemperaturewater.Todispenseroomwater,press
the red button downward until the desired amount of water is dispensed.
(Forhotwater,seeDispensingHotWater).
By turning the thermostat at the back of the unit, the temperature can be adjusted.
Turnthedialclockwisebetweenthehigh(cool)andlow(colder)levelsuntilthe
desiredtemperatureisreached.Ifthewaterdispenserisnotdispensingwater,
there could be a possible ice build up due to the thermostat being set too cold.
Ifthishappens,unplugthedispenserovernightandthenreset.Setthermostatto
high, slowly increasing based on your use and need for cold water.
TheKettleFeaturedispensingsystemonthisunitisdesignedtosaveenergyandmoney.
Conventionalhotwaterdispensingsystemsoperate24/7regardlessofwaterusage.The
(ondemand)KettleFeatureactivatesthehotwatersystem"only"whentheKettleFeature(red)
buttonisactivateddeliveringsteaminghotwaterinlessthan3minutes.
Tostop/canceltheKettleFeatureduringacycle,simplypresstheKettleFeaturebuttonasecondtimeandtheredLED
lightwillstopashing.

present and/or low water levels are detected inside the internal water reservoir, activation/operation of the Kettle
Feature hot water heating system is not possible. Likewise, if the hot water heating system is operational and
water is being drawn simultaneously causing internal water levels to drop below the established minimal level set
point, hot water tank operation is automatically suspended. To reactivate the hot water heating system, you must
replenish your water supply.
NOTE: Operation of the cold water system is not affected by this safety
feature.
To prevent hot water from being dispensed accidentally and possible harming
a child, the hot water dispensing button can only be operated when the child
resistant safety switch is activated. To dispense hot water, push the child safety
switchsideways,(inthedirectionofthearrowlocatedontheswitch)fromrightto
left, then depress the hot water button until the desired amount of hot water is dispensed. Upon releasing the hot water
button, the child safety lock automatically returns to the locked position.
DANGER: The hot water is heated to approximately 194 F / 90C. Temperatures above 125 F / 52 C can cause
severe burns from scalding. DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO USE THE HOT WATER DISPENSING
BUTTON WITHOUT PROPER AND DIRECT SUPERVISION.

The outside of the dispenser can be wiped clean with a Greenway®water dispenser cleaning solution or a mild soap and
watermixture.Neveruseharshchemicalsorabrasivecleaners.Rinsethoroughlywithcleanwaterandthendrysurfaces.
Toremove,takethegrilloffthetrayandrmlyliftthetrayup,dislodgingitfrom
the guides. Drain and clean.
The drip tray should be emptied and cleaned regularly to remove spotting and any
mineral deposits. Clean with Greenway®water dispenser cleaning solution or a
mildsoapandwatermixture.Fortoughdeposits,addvinegarandletitsoakuntil
the deposits come loose. Then wash, rinse and dry thoroughly. To replace, put the
grillbackonthetrayandslidethetrayontotheguides(notdishwashersafe).

Vacuum or sweep away the dust from the condenser coils at the back of the
dispenser.Forbestresults,youcanpurchaseabrushdesignedspecically
for this purpose from your local appliance store. This will improve cooling and
efciency.
Drain the reservoirs before and after cleaning, when going on long vacations or
if not using the dispenser for long periods of time.
IMPORTANT! Unplug the dispenser before performing this procedure.
Dispense hot water until temperature drops to a safe level to avoid the risk
of scalding.
1. Remove the water bottle.
2. Press both dispensing taps until water no longer comes out.
3. Place a bucket beneath the drain valve on the back of the dispenser.
4. Removethecapandplugfromthedrainvalveandletthewaterowintothebucket.Replacethecapandplug.
(Ascrewdriverorcoincanbeusedtohelploosenthedraincap.)
IMPORTANT: Collect the water in a container, not the drip tray.
5. Replace the water bottle (see Installing the Water Bottle).
Topreventmineraldepositsthatcanaffectthetasteandowofthewaterand
to ensure proper product performance, your water dispenser must cleaned
every4months.
1. Unplug the power cord.
2. Remove the water bottle and bottle support collar.
3. Drain the reservoirs (see Draining the Reservoirs).
4. Pour a Greenway®waterdispensercleaneroramixture4cups/1Lof
vinegarwith4cups/1Lofhotwaterintothereservoirandwait20
minutes.Ifusingawaterdispensercleaningsolution,pleasefollowthe
manufacturer's instructions.
IMPORTANT: To avoid water overflow while cleaning the dispenser, always
remove the bottle support collar before pouring water or cleaning solution
into the reservoir (see Figure A on pg. 2).
5. Press both dispensing buttons until water no longer comes out.
6. Drain the reservoirs.
IMPORTANT: Collect the water into a container, not the drip tray.
7. Rinse with clean water.
8. Replace the bottle support collar and the water bottle (see Installing the Water Bottle).
IMPORTANT: Drain approximately 4 glasses of water from each tap before initial use. This does not need to be
done with replacement bottles.

Reset the breaker or replace the fuse.
Temperature limit tripped. Allow the temperature of the hot water tank to cool

limitthermostatwillre-setautomaticallyonce
sufficiently cooled, and the cooling system will
reactivate automatically. To operate the hot water
system,presstheInsta-Hotbutton.
Thermostat needs to be adjusted colder. Adjustthermostatbetweenhigh(cool)andlow

Q: Why is my water dispenser leaking?
A: Ifyouareexperiencingaleakwithyourwaterdispenserpleasedothefollowingtoseeifthewaterbottleorthe
dispenser is leaking.
1. Unplug the unit, and remove the bottle.
2.Removethebottlesupportcollarandcheckthewaterlevelinsidethereservoir–itshouldbeatroughlythree-
quartersfull.Waterlevelshouldbeapproximately3/4"-1"/1.9cm-2.5cmbelow vent tube.
3.Letwatersitfor2hours.Ifthedispenserdoesnotleak,itisthebottlethatisleakingduetoasmallcrackor
pinholeanditneedstobereplaced.Ifthedispenserisleaking,pleasecontactGreenwayWaterTechnologiesat
[email protected] or 1-866-253-0447.
Q: Why do I get a plastic taste from my dispenser?
A: Aswithmostnewappliancessuchascoffeemakersandkettles,thereisoftenaplastictasteuponinitialstart-upof
the unit. To remove this taste, simply follow the cleaning instructions outlined in Cleaning the Reservoirs.
Q: What is the spike that goes into the bottle?
A: Greenway®waterdispensersfeaturea“piercingvalve”aspartofthebottlesupportcollar,providingadded
convenience for water bottle installation. Depending on the water bottle supplier, some water bottles incorporate
aself-piercingmembraneinthebottlecapforthisspecicpurpose(askyourwaterbottlesupplierifyourwater
bottleincorporatesthisfeature).Ifyourwaterbottledoesnotincorporatethisfeature,theentirebottlecapmust
then be removed to eliminate possible damage to the piercing valve.

Retailer or Greenway Water Technologies within the warranty period. The obligation of Greenway Water Technologies under this warranty
is expressly limited to such repairs or replacement. This warranty does not cover the freight costs to and from the authorized repair

1. Assurez-vousquel’appareilestdébranché.
2. Retirez le collier de soutien de la bouteille, imbibez un chiffon propre avec
le produit de nettoyage Greenway®du distributeur d’eau ou du vinaigre et
essuyez l'intérieur du réservoir.
3. Versez le produit de nettoyage du distributeur d’eau ou un mélange
contenant4tasses/1Ldevinaigreet4tasses/1Ld’eauchaudedansle
réservoir et attendez 20 minutes.
IMPORTANT: Pour éviter tout débordement d'eau pendant le nettoyage du
distributeur, retirez le collier de soutien de la bouteille avant de verser l'eau
ou la solution de nettoyage dans le réservoir (voir la Figure A).
4. Appuyezsurtouslesboutonsdedistributionjusqu'àcequel'eaunesorte
plus.
5. Vidangerlesréservoirsàl’aidedelavannedevidangesituéeàl’arrièrede
l’appareil.
6. Rincez l’appareil encore une fois avec de l’eau propre.
7. Remettez le collier de soutien de la bouteille sur le distributeur.
IMPORTANT: Lavez toujours vos mains en premier ! Nettoyez le dessus (col) de la bouteille avec un chiffon
propre et ne touchez pas aux composants de l’appareil qui sont en contact avec l’eau. Assurez-vous que
l'appareil est débranché. La bouteille d’eau peut être achetée chez votre détaillant local.

défectueuse. Malheureusement, toutes les bouteilles d'eau sont créées égaux.
Presquetousles3et5gallons(12et19L)bouteillesd'eausontrecycléeset
traitées intensivement pendant le nettoyage, le remplissage et l'expédition. En
conséquence,ilssonttrèsvulnérablesauxfracturesendéveloppementetles
fuitessténopéquinesontpastoujoursévidentsàl'utilisateurnaljusqu'au
moment de l'installation.
IMPORTANT : Ne jamais installez une bouteille d'eau défectueuse sur
un distributeur d'eau. Retournez la bouteille immédiatement pour un
remplacement.
En cas de fuite d'eau, ce simple test vous permettra d'établir si la bouteille d'eau
ouledistributeurestàlasourceduproblème.
1. Débranchez l'appareil, et retirez la bouteille d'eau.

complètement le bac. Pour remettre le bac en place, remettez la grille sur le bac et

Passez l’aspirateur ou le balai pour enlever la poussière du serpentin du
condensateursituéàl’arrièredudistributeur.Pouravoirlesmeilleursrésultats
possibles,achetezunpinceauconçuspéciquementàcettenàvotremagasin
locald'électroménagers.Celaamélioreralerefroidissementetl'efcacité.
Vidangezlesréservoirsavantetaprèslenettoyage,lorsquevouspartezen
vacancespendantlongtempsoulorsquevousn’utilisezpasledistributeur
pendant une longue période.
IMPORTANT! Débranchez le distributeur avant d'entamer cette procédure. Distribuez l'eau chaude jusqu'à ce
que la température baisse à un niveau sûr pour éviter les risques de brûlure par l’eau chaude.
1. Enlevez la bouteille d’eau.

3. Placezunseausouslavannedevidangesituéeàl’arrièredudistributeur.
4. Enlevez le capuchon et la prise des sorties de drainage et laissez l'eau s’écouler dans le seau. Remettez le
capuchonetlaprise.(Onpeututiliseruntournevisouunepiècedemonnaiepourdesserrerlecapuchondevidange
plus facilement.
IMPORTANT: Recueillez l'eau dans un récipient et non dans le trop-plein.
5. Remplacez la bouteille d’eau (voir les instructions sur la Mise en place de la bouteille d’eau).

économiser de l'électricité, débranchez le distributeur et videz les réservoirs. (Voir Vidange des réservoirs).Àvotre
