Color Coding
READ THIS BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Purchased greenhouse and all accessories & systems require a specific installation sequence. All components have
been separated into different categories based on common grouping and/or the chronology of installation. Each
category has been color coded. All parts within any given color category will be labeled accordingly, and each color
category will have its own respective instruction manual.
The following illustrates a highly recommended order in which all components should be installed.
IMPORTANT: There are some procedures that can occur simultaneously, depending on available assistants and
equipment, but there are some procedures that MUST be done in chronological order. Before you begin, review
below step recommendation and all technical documents to better understand overall building kit design.
Near the beginning of each color-coded instruction guide, you will find information to lead you through the installation
and assembly steps. This information identifies at what point during the assembly the respective components are
installed or attached to the main building frame.
Since we cannot anticipate changes made by the customer/contractor, all instructions assume the use of accessories
purchased from us to be used on the building the accessory was designed for. Each instruction guide presents the
basic steps to install the color-coded components.
When in doubt, consult the services of a qualified contractor experienced with the assembly of similar structures.

All components that are color coded GREEN represent the main frame film cladding
of the greenhouse.
***Color coded components that MUST be installed before installing GREEN:
If above color coded components have not yet been installed, put this manual down
and consult those manuals to install those components before returning.
If above color coded components have been installed, gather all components that
have been color coded with a GREEN label or paint splotch, and continue on the
next page with the main frame cladding installation.
ATTENTION: Recommended installation order is not critically definitive. Installation
of film cladding will protect the interior of the greenhouse from weather elements,
but it will also increase the temperature. Depending on personal preference and/or
availability of assistants and equipment, there are some procedures that can occur
before or simultaneously with this procedure.

READ THIS DOCUMENT BEFORE YOU BEGIN TO
INSTALL THE MAIN FRAME CLADDING.
Thank you for purchasing a Series 500 greenhouse
kit with a black-out system, ventilation & evaporative
cooling. When properly assembled and maintained,
this product will provide years of reliable service.
These instructions include helpful hints and important
information needed to safely assemble and properly
maintain the structure. Please read these instructions
before you begin.
If you have any questions during the assembly, contact
Customer Service for assistance.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
• Wear eye, hand, and head protection.
• Use a portable GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit
Interrupter) when working with power tools and cords.
• Do not climb on the shelter or framing during or after
construction.
• Do not occupy the shelter during high winds,
tornadoes, or hurricanes.
• Provide adequate ventilation if the structure is
enclosed.
• Do not store hazardous materials in the shelter.
• Provide proper ingress and egress to prevent
entrapment.
Important Information
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Proper care and maintenance of your end frame is
important. Check the following items periodically:
• Inspect all components regularly and frequently.
• Check connections and all fasteners to verify that they
remain tight and in good repair.
• Do not climb or stand on the shelter or end frame.
• Remove debris and objects that may accumulate on
the shelter. Use tools that will not damage the cover
(if equipped) when removing debris.
• Remove snow to prevent excess accumulation. Use
tools that will not damage the cover (if equipped)
when removing snow. Never allow snow to
accumulate on the cover or along the sides and end
panels after removing the snow from the main cover.
• Replace all worn or damaged parts promptly.
REQUIRED TOOLS
The following identifies the main tools needed to install
the end cladding. Additional tools and supports may be
needed depending on the structure, location, and
application.
• Tape measure or measuring device
• Marker to mark locations on tubing.
• Variable speed drill and impact driver (cordless with
extra batteries works best)
• Metal file and metal-cutting saw
• Hammers, gloves, and eye protection
• Adjustable pliers and self-locking pliers
• Ladders, work platforms, and other machinery for
lifting designed to work safely at the height of the
building and end frame.
ATTENTION: Consult the services of a qualified,
professional contractor if you are not familiar with the
construction of similar structures & components.
UNPACK AND IDENTIFY PARTS
The following steps will ensure that you have all the
necessary parts before you begin.
1. Unpack the contents of the shipment and place where
you can easily inventory the parts. Refer to the Bill of
Materials/Spec Sheets.
2. Verify that all parts listed on the Bill of Materials/Spec
Sheets are present. If anything is missing or you have
questions, consult the parts guide (below) and
all diagrams for clarification, or contact Customer
Service.
NOTE: At this time, you do not need to open the
plastic bags containing smaller parts such as
fasteners and clamps.
DOUBLE-LAYER FILM INSTALLATION
Greenhouses equipped with a double-layer lm in-
clude a layer that is Infra Red (IR) Retention lm; item
#110030.
IMPORTANT! During cover installation, install the
IR film first! Examine the IR/AC film and install it
according to the instructions printed on the film.

Attach 102197 to Baseboard
Film cover for the greenhouse will be secured to runs of 102197 spring channel
running lengthwise along the base. For ease of installation and for light sealing
purposes, it is recommended that a baseboard be installed (see RED manual). The
diagrams below show where to install the 102197.
Secure 102197 spring channel to baseboard (if present) using FA4650 wood
fasteners. Install 102197 flush with ends of baseboard and end rafters. Pre-drill
fastener holes if needed. Space fasteners at 12" on-center throughout the
length of building on both sides. If no baseboard is installed, secure directly to
rafters using one FA4482B Tek screw per rafter.
ATTENTION: If a baseboard is not
installed, attach the 102197 directly
to the rafters using a FA4482B Tek
screw at each rafter position.

Film Cover Installation
INSTALL IR/AC FILM COVER
IMPORTANT: Before installing the cover, verify that the following have been installed: end wall frame & end wall
cladding. Only after these items have been installed should you continue with the cover installation.
Gather the parts:
• Main cover material and spring (#102198)
• Ropes long enough to reach over the frame (provided by customer)
Install the IR/AC main cover. Ropes or straps are typically used to pull the main cover onto and over the frame.
Complete these steps to install the first layer of film:
1. Take cover material and position it along the base of one side of the building.
2. Unfold cover and locate edge. Verify that width & length are properly oriented with width & length of the building.
ATTENTION: Measure cover material and compare it to the over-the-top measurement of your building
before installation and cutting! Consult the diagram in the technical documents near the end of this guide for
the over-the-top measurement.
WARNING: To prevent damage to the cover and to prevent serious personal injury,
DO NOT attempt to install the main cover on windy or stormy days.
NOTE: Installation procedure may vary slightly depending on length of building and number of assistants; buildings
longer than 48' typically require more than three (3) assistants even when conditions are ideal. Adjust these steps
as needed to safely and properly install the cover.
DOUBLE-LAYER FILM INSTALLATION
Greenhouse is equipped with a double-layer lm include a layer that is Infra Red (IR) Retention lm; item #110030.
IMPORTANT! During cover installation, install the IR/AC film first! Examine the film and install it according
to the instructions printed on the film.

3. Along the edge, clamp self-locking, duck-billed pliers to the cover material and
tie ropes or straps to the pliers.
NOTE: The ropes or straps must reach over the top of the building to the
other side. The number of ropes depends on building length; use additional
ropes spaced even throughout the length to prevent tearing the main cover
when it is pulled into place.
IMPORTANT: To prevent damage to the main cover during installation, use additional personnel and lifts as
needed.
5. Center cover side-to-side and end-to-end. Some covers include additional material for the width due to standard
material dimensions. This material can be removed and recycled, or it can be used by the customer.

4. After tying ropes to the main cover, throw ropes over the building and pull cover into place.

8. Move to the other end, pull cover tight, and repeat
steps to secure cover in end rafter 104546 channel.
9. After securing cover end-to-end, move to one side
and install the 102198 spring in the channel of the
102197 attached along the bottom side edge of the
greenhouse.
NOTE: Begin at one end and work toward the other.
Maintain an even length working along the side.
Final stretching of cover takes place when last side
is secured.
10. Next, move to the remaining side, stretch the cover,
and secure it in place. Pull the cover tight and insert
spring into the 102197 channel.
11. Trim excess cover material if desired.
ATTENTION: Allow some material to remain. This
allows easier stretching of the cover in the event
that the material expands after it is installed.
6. Once main cover is in place and centered, begin at the peak of one end and install the 102198 wire spring into the
104546 channel installed during BLUE steps.
ATTENTION: Ensure that enough cover material is present to lock into the end rafter 104546 channel. Typically,
the cover material is cut longer/wider than required to cover the building. For easier anchoring, allow approximately
10" to extend past the edge of the end rafter as the cover is anchored. Remove the ropes after the cover is secure.
7. Continue down both edges of the end rafter until main cover is secured to the first end rafter.

Ination Fan Kit Installation
The 115842 Air Inflation System assembly is quick and easy. Follow instructions included with 115842 kit components.
After installing the air inflation system (or systems), continue by installing the second layer of film as described on the
following pages.
ATTENTION: Longer and wider greenhouses include multiple air inflation systems. If greenhouse includes two (2) air
inflation kits, install these diagonally opposite (kitty-corner from) each other.
IMPORTANT! All wiring to be completed by a qualified
electrician. Consult and follow all local and regional
codes when connecting fan motor to power.

Ination Fan Kit Installation
Once the air inflation kit or kits are installed, install the remaining layer of film for the greenhouse (#1115842). Simply
repeat the steps for the cover installation for your greenhouse.
Follow these guidelines to install the remaining film:
• Secure film in all the same channels as the first film--104546 along the end rafters and 102197 along the bottom
sides.
• Add a second run of 102198 spring wire over the first.
• Be careful not to damage the first film during the installation and cutting of the second film.
• Test the air inflation system after installing the second film.
