The CIM 3XX BACnet module
(CIM = Communication Interface Module), which is a
BACnet master, enables data transmission between
a BACnet MS/TP (Master-Slave/Token Passing)
network and a Grundfos product.
The CIM 3XX is fitted in the product to be
communicated with, or in a CIU 3XX unit
(CIU = Communication Interface Unit).
Retrofitting of the CIM 3XX is described in the
installation and operating instructions of the
Grundfos product.

3. Installation
3.1 Connecting the BACnet module
A screened, twisted-pair cable must be used.
Recommended connection

Procedure:
See fig. 3.
1. Connect the red conductor(s) to terminal Plus
(pos. 1).
2. Connect the green conductor(s) to terminal
Minus (pos. 2).
3. Connect the grey conductor(s) to terminal
Ground (pos. 3).
4. Secure the cable with the earth clamp (pos. 4).
Earthing of the cable screen (optional) can be
obtained by connecting the screen to the earth
clamp.

same BACnet MS/TP segment.

3.2 Termination resistor
The termination resistor is fitted on the CIM 3XX
BACnet module and has a value of 120 .
The CIM 3XX has a DIP switch with two switches
(SW1 and SW2) for cutting the termination resistor in
and out. Figure 4 shows the DIP switches in cut-out
state.

The CIM 3XX must only be connected to
SELV or SELV-E circuits.

According to the ANSI/ASHRAE BACnet
standard, the cable screen must only be
earthed at one end of the segment to
ensure correct operation and to prevent

Cable length
The maximum recommended cable length within
a BACnet MS/TP segment is 1200 metres (4000 ft)
with 0.82 mm2 (AWG 18) cable.
The connection between the BACnet modules must
be made by use of a screened, twisted-pair cable
with a characteristic impedance between 100 and
130 .
3.3 Setting the BACnet MAC address
The CIM 3XX BACnet module has two hexadecimal
rotary switches for setting the BACnet MAC address.
The two switches are used for setting the four most
significant bits (SW6) and the four least significant
bits (SW7), respectively. See fig. 5.

3.4 Setting the Device Object instance
number
By default, the CIM 3XX BACnet module uses a
predefined Device Object instance number, which is
227XXX (XXX is the BACnet MAC address).
To use the complete Device Object instance number
range, set SW3 to ON, and set the new Device
Object instance number via a BACnet object in the
software. See fig. 6 and the specific functional
profile.

3.5 Setting the BACnet transmission speed
The transmission speed must be set correctly before
the CIM 3XX BACnet module is ready to
communicate with the BACnet network. See fig. 7.

Note
To ensure a stable and reliable
communication, it is important that only the
termination resistor of the first and last unit
in the BACnet MS/TP segment is cut in.
See fig. 2.
Note
BACnet MS/TP segments must be
provided with at least one set, and no
more than two sets of network bias
resistors. See fig. 2.
The network bias resistors are not
available on the CIM 3XX BACnet module.

4. LEDs
The CIM 3XX BACnet module has two LEDs.
See fig. 1.
• Red/green status LED (LED1) for BACnet
communication
• Red/green status LED (LED2) for internal
communication between the CIM 3XX and
the Grundfos product.

5. Fault finding
Faults in a CIM 3XX BACnet module can be detected by observing the status of the two communication LEDs.
See the table below.

Das CIM 3XX BACnet Modul (CIM = Communication
Interface Module (Kommunikationsschnittstellenmo-
dul), bei dem es sich um einen BACnet-Master han-

3.1 Anschließen des BACnet Moduls
Es ist ein abgeschirmtes, verdrilltes Kabel zu ver-
wenden.

1. Den/die roten Leiter an Klemme Plus (Pos. 1)
anschließen.
2. Den/die grünen Leiter an Klemme Minus (Pos. 2)
anschließen.
3. Den/die grauen Leiter an die Masseklemme
(Pos. 3) anschließen.
4. Die Kabel über die Masseschelle (Pos. 4) absi-
chern. Der Kabelschirm kann optional geerdet
werden, indem er auf die Masseschelle aufgelegt
wird.

BACnet MS/TP Abschnitt angeschlossen werden.

3.2 Abschlusswiderstand
Der Abschlusswiderstand ist auf dem CIM 3XX
BACnet Modul angeordnet. Sein Wert beträgt 120 .
Das CIM 3XX hat einen DIP-Schalter mit zwei Schal-
tern (SW1 und SW2) zum Ein- und Ausschalten des
Abschlusswiderstands. Abb. 4 zeigt die DIP-Schalter
in Stellung AUS (OFF).

Kabellänge
Die maximal empfohlene Kabellänge in einem
BACnet MS/TP Abschnitt beträgt bei einem Kabel-
querschnitt von 0,82 mm2 (AWG 18) 1200 m
(4000 ft).
Die Verbindung zwischen den BACnet Modulen
muss über abgeschirmte, verdrillte Kabel mit einem
Wellenwiderstand von 100-130  erfolgen.
3.3 Einstellen der BACnet MAC-Adresse
Das CIM 3XX Modbus Modul hat zwei Hexadezimal-
Drehschalter zum Einstellen der BACnet MAC-
Adresse. Die beiden Schalter werden zum Einstellen
der vier höchstwertigen Bits (SW6) bzw. der vier
niedrigstwertigen Bits (SW7) verwendet.

Hinweis
Um eine stabile und zuverlässige Übertra-
gung zu gewährleisten, darf nur der
Abschlusswiderstand des ersten und letz-
ten Geräts im BACnet MS/TP Abschnitt
eingeschaltet sein. Siehe Abb. 2.
Hinweis
BACnet MS/TP Abschnitte müssen mit
mindestens einem Satz Netzwerk-Vor-
spannungswiderständen ausgerüstet sein.
Es dürfen aber auch nicht mehr als zwei
Sätze eingebaut sein. Siehe Abb. 2.
Die Netzwerk-Vorspannungswiderstände
sind nicht im CIM 3XX BACnet Modul ent-
halten.

3.4 Einstellen der Device Object
Instanznummer
Standardmäßig verwendet das CIM 3XX BACnet
Modul eine vordefinierte Device Object Instanznum-
mer. Sie lautet 227XXX (XXX ist die BACnet MAC-
Adresse).
Um den gesamten Bereich der Device Object Ins-
tanznummern nutzen zu können, ist der Schalter
SW3 auf ON zu setzen und die neue Device Object
Instanznummer über ein BACnet-Objekt in der Soft-
ware einzustellen. Siehe Abb. 6 und das spezielle
Funktionsprofil.

3.5 Einstellen der BACnet-
Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit
Bevor das CIM 3XX BACnet Modul mit dem BACnet-
Netzwerk kommunizieren kann, muss die Übertra-
gungsgeschwindigkeit korrekt eingestellt werden.

Die Störungssuche bei einem CIM 3XX BACnet Modul erfolgt über den Status der Kommunikations-LEDs.
Siehe nachfolgende Tabelle.
In einem Grundfos Produkt eingebautes CIM 3XX

1. Beide LEDs (LED1 und
LED2) bleiben aus, wenn die
Spannungsversorgung ange-
schlossen wird.
a) Das CIM 3XX ist falsch im
Grundfos Produkt eingebaut. Prüfen, ob das CIM 3XX korrekt eingebaut/angeschlossen ist.
b) Das CIM 3XX ist defekt. Das CIM 3XX austauschen.
2. Die LED für die interne
Kommunikation (LED2) blinkt
rot.
a) Keine interne Kommunikation
zwischen dem CIM 3XX und
dem Grundfos Produkt.
Prüfen, ob das CIM 3XX korrekt im
Grundfos Produkt eingebaut ist.
3. Die LED für die interne
Kommunikation (LED2)
leuchtet permanent rot.
a) Das angeschlossene Grund-
fos Produkt wird nicht vom
CIM 3XX unterstützt.
Bitte wenden Sie sich an die
nächste Grundfos Niederlassung.
4. Die BACnet-LED (LED1)
leuchtet rot. a) Fehler in der CIM 3XX BACnet Konfiguration. • Prüfen, ob die BACnet MAC- Adresse (Schalter SW6 und
SW7) einen gültigen Wert
[0-127] hat. Siehe Abschnitt

gerecht entsorgt werden:
1. Nutzen Sie die öffentlichen oder privaten
Entsorgungsgesellschaften.
2. Ist das nicht möglich, wenden Sie sich bitte an
eine Grundfos-Niederlassung oder eine von
Grundfos anerkannte Servicewerkstatt in Ihrer
Nähe.
Das Symbol mit einer durchgestrichenen
Mülltonne weist darauf hin, dass das
jeweilige Produkt nicht im Haushaltsmüll
entsorgt werden darf. Wenn ein Produkt,
das mit diesem Symbol gekennzeichnet
ist, das Ende seiner Lebensdauer
erreicht hat, bringen Sie es zu einer geeigneten
Sammelstelle. Weitere Informationen hierzu erhalten
Sie von den zuständigen Behörden vor Ort. Die
separate Entsorgung und das Recycling dieser Pro-
dukte trägt dazu bei, die Umwelt und die Gesundheit

Interface Module), som er en BACnet-master, giver
mulighed for dataoverførsel mellem et BACnet

CIM 3XX er monteret i det produkt der skal kommu-

3. Installation
3.1 Tilslutning af BACnet-modul
Der skal bruges et skærmet, parsnoet kabel.

Fremgangsmåde:
Se fig. 3.
1. Tilslut den/de røde leder(e) til klemme Plus
(pos. 1).
2. Tilslut den/de grønne leder(e) til klemme Minus
(pos. 2).
3. Tilslut den/de grå leder(e) til klemme Jord
(pos. 3).
4. Fastgør kablet med jordbøjlen (pos. 4).
Jording af kabelskærmen (valgfri) kan opnås ved
at forbinde skærmen til jordbøjlen.

3.2 Termineringsmodstand
Termineringsmodstanden er monteret på CIM 3XX
BACnet-modulet og har en værdi på 120 .
CIM 3XX har en DIP-switch med to switche (SW1 og
SW2) til ind- og udkobling af termineringsmodstan-
den. Figur 4 viser DIP-switchene i udkoblet tilstand.

Kabellængde
Maks. anbefalet kabellængde i et BACnet MS/TP-
segment er 1200 m (4000 ft) med 0,82 mm2-kabel
(AWG 18).
BACnet-moduler skal forbindes med et skærmet,
parsnoet kabel med en karakteristisk impedans mel-
lem 100 og 130 .
3.3 Indstilling af BACnet MAC-adresse
CIM 3XX BACnet-modulet har to hexadecimale rota-
tionsswitche til indstilling af BACnet MAC-adressen.
De to switche bruges til at indstille henholdsvis de
fire mest betydende bits (SW6) og de fire mindst
betydende bits (SW7). Se fig. 5.

Tabellen nedenfor viser nogle eksempler på hvordan
BACnet MAC-adressen kan indstilles.

3.4 Indstilling af Device Object instance
number
CIM 3XX BACnet-modulet bruger som default et for-
uddefineret Device Object instance number, som er
227XXX (XXX er BACnet MAC-adressen).
For at bruge hele rækken af Device Object instance
numbers, indstil SW3 til ON, og indstil det nye
Device Object instance number via BACnet-objektet
i softwaren. Se fig. 6 og den specifikke funktionspro-
fil.

3.5 Indstilling af
BACnet-transmissionshastighed
Transmissionshastigheden skal indstilles korrekt
inden CIM 3XX BACnet-modulet er klar til at kommu-
nikere med BACnet-netværket. Se fig. 7.

Bemærk
For at sikre stabil og pålidelig kommunika-
tion er det vigtigt at termineringsmodstan-
den kun er indkoblet i den første og sidste
enhed i BACnet MS/TP-segmentet. Se fig.
2.
Bemærk
BACnet MS/TP-segmenter skal forsynes
med mindst et og højst to sæt netværks-
bias-modstande. Se fig. 2.
Netværks-bias-modstandene findes ikke
på CIM 3XX BACnet-modulet.
