The CIM 1XX LON module (CIM = Communication
Interface Module) enables data transmission
between a LON network and a Grundfos product.
The CIM 1XX is fitted in the product to be
communicated with or in a CIU 1XX unit (CIU =
Communication Interface Unit).
Retrofitting of the CIM 1XX is described in the
installation and operating instructions of the
Grundfos product.

2.1 CIM 1XX LON module

3. Installation
3.1 Connecting the LON
Grundfos recommends to use a cable according to
Echelon standards.
Examples of recommended cable types
• Belden 85102
• Belden 8471
• Level IV, 22 AWG
• JY(St) Y 2 x 2 x 0.8
• TIA Category 5.
A LON network must be terminated. The termination
depends on the network topology chosen.
Fitting the cable
Procedure:
See fig. 2.
1. Connect the conductors to terminal A (pos. 1).
2. Connect the conductors to terminal B (pos. 2).
3. Connect the twisted screen ends to terminal
"Screen" (pos. 3).

Warning
The CIM 1XX must only be connected to
SELV or SELV-E circuits.
Note
The screen must only be connected to the
screen terminal of the CIM 1XX LON
module. See fig. 2, pos. 3.
The cable screen must never be
connected to earth via the earth clamp.

Note
The stripped part of the cable screen must
be as short as possible to reduce the
impedance at high frequencies.

3.2 Registration in a LON network
Grundfos products with a CIM 1XX LON module are
registered by a LON network in one of these ways:
• Service pin
• Bar code label.
Service pin
When the service pin push-button of the module is
activated, the module will send a unique 48 bit ID
code (Neuron ID) which is registered in the LON
network.

Bar code label
The Neuron ID on the module or on the enclosed bar
code label is scanned and registered in the LON
network. The bar code of the Neuron ID is in Code
128 format. The additional bar code label can be
attached to the building installation plan.
4. LEDs
The CIM 1XX LON module has two LEDs. See fig. 1.
• Yellow service LED (LED1)
• Red/green status LED (LED2) for internal
communication between the CIM 1XX and the
Grundfos product.
LED1
The yellow LED on the CIM 1XX functions as a
service LED. When the Grundfos product is
connected to the power supply, the service LED will
flash once and then remain off if the installation has
been made correctly. In case of deviations, see
section 5. Fault finding.

5. Fault finding
Faults in a CIM 1XX LON module can be detected by observing the status of the service LED (LED1) and the
LED for internal communication (LED2). See the table below.

c) The CIM 1XX is defective. Replace the CIM 1XX.
2. The service LED (LED1) is
permanently on. a) The CIM 1XX is defective. Replace the CIM 1XX.

CIM 1XX, turns off, turns on
again and remains
permanently on.
a) The CIM 1XX has no
application software
(application-less).
Try to download application
software via a LON installation tool
such as LonMaker.

8. Disposal
This product or parts of it must be disposed of in an
environmentally sound way:
1. Use the public or private waste collection service.
2. If this is not possible, contact the nearest
Grundfos company or service workshop.
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on
a product means that it must be
disposed of separately from household
waste. When a product marked with this
symbol reaches its end of life, take it to a
collection point designated by the local
waste disposal authorities. The separate collection
and recycling of such products will help protect the
environment and human health.

Das CIM 1XX LON Modul (CIM = Communication
Interface Module (Kommunikationsschnittstellen-
modul)) ermöglicht die Datenübertragung zwischen
einem LON-Netzwerk und einem Grundfos Produkt.
Das CIM 1XX ist in dem Produkt, mit dem die Kom-
munikation erfolgt, oder in einem CIU 1XX Gerät
(CIU = Communication Interface Unit (Kommunika-
tionsschnittstellengerät)) eingebaut.
Der nachträgliche Einbau des CIM 1XX ist in der
Montage- und Betriebsanleitung des jeweiligen
Grundfos Produkts beschrieben.

hält grundlegende Hinweise, die bei der
Montage und dem Betrieb der Pumpe zu

der Montage und Inbetriebnahme vom

3.1 Anschließen des LON
Es wird empfohlen, ein Kabel gemäß Echelon-Stan-
dard zu verwenden.
Beispiele für empfohlene Kabeltypen
• Belden 85102
• Belden 8471

• JY(St) Y 2 x 2 x 0,8
• TIA Category 5.
Ein LON-Netzwerk erfordert einen Abschluss.
Der erforderliche Abschluss ist abhängig von
der gewählten Netzwerkarchitektur.
Auflegen der Kabel
Vorgehensweise:

1. Die Leiter an die Klemme A (Pos. 1) anschließen.

Das Modul CIM 1XX darf nur an Schutz-
kleinspannung SELV oder SELV-E ange-
schlossen werden.

Hinweis
Der Schirm darf nur an die Schirmklemme
des CIM 1XX LON Moduls angeschlossen
werden. Siehe Abb. 2, Pos. 3.
Der Kabelschirm darf niemals an Masse
über die Masseschelle angeschlossen
werden. Siehe Abb. 2, Pos. 4.
Hinweis
Der abisolierte Teil des Kabelschirms
muss so kurz wie möglich sein, um die
Impedanz bei hohen Frequenzen zu redu-
zieren.

3.2 Anmelden in einem LON-Netzwerk
Es gibt folgende Möglichkeiten, Grundfos Produkte
mit einem CIM 1XX LON Modul im LON-Netzwerk
anzumelden:
• Service-Pin
• Barcode-Aufkleber.
Service-Pin
Wird die Service-Pin-Drucktaste des Moduls akti-
viert, sendet das Modul einen eindeutigen
48 bit ID-Code (Neuron ID), der im LON-Netzwerk
hinterlegt ist.

Barcode-Aufkleber
Die Neuron-ID auf dem Modul oder auf dem bei-
gefügten Barcode-Aufkleber wird eingescannt und
im LON-Netzwerk hinterlegt. Der Barcode mit der
Neuron-ID liegt im Codeformat 128 vor. Der zusätz-
liche Barcode-Aufkleber kann dem Gebäude-
aufstellungsplan beigefügt werden.
4. LEDs
Das CIM 1XX LON-Modul hat zwei LEDs.
Siehe Abb. 1.
• Gelbe Service-LED (LED1)
• Rote/grüne Status-LED (LED2) für die interne
Kommunikation zwischen dem CIM 1XX und
dem Grundfos Produkt.
LED1
Die gelbe LED am CIM 1XX dient als Service-LED.
Wird das Grundfos Produkt an die Spannungsversor-
gung angeschlossen, blinkt die Service-LED einmal
auf und erlischt dann wieder, wenn der Anschluss
ordnungsgemäß erfolgte. Bei abweichendem Ver-
halten, siehe Abschnitt 5. Störungsübersicht.

5. Störungsübersicht
Die Störungssuche bei einem CIM 1XX LON Modul erfolgt über den Status der Service-LED (LED1) und
die LED für die interne Kommunikation (LED2). Siehe nachfolgende Tabelle.

zum CIM 1XX. Spannungsversorgung zum Grundfos Produkt prüfen.
c) Das CIM 1XX ist defekt. Das CIM 1XX austauschen.
2. Die Service LED (LED1)
leuchtet permanent. a) Das CIM 1XX ist defekt. Das CIM 1XX austauschen.
3. Die Service LED (LED1)
blinkt, wenn das CIM 1XX an
die Spannungsversorgung
angeschlossen wird, geht aus
und wieder an und leuchtet
dann permanent.
a) Das CIM 1XX verfügt über
keine Anwendungssoftware
(ist ohne spezifische Anwen-
dung).
Anwendungssoftware über ein
LON-Installationsprogramm, wie
z.B. LonMaker, versuchen herun-
terzuladen.
b) Das CIM 1XX ist defekt. Das CIM 1XX austauschen.
4. Die Service-LED (LED1) blinkt

Bei weiteren Fragen wenden Sie sich bitte an die
nächste Grundfos Niederlassung oder autorisierte
Servicewerkstatt.
8. Entsorgung
Dieses Produkt sowie Teile davon müssen umwelt-
gerecht entsorgt werden:
1. Nutzen Sie die öffentlichen oder privaten
Entsorgungsgesellschaften.
2. Ist das nicht möglich, wenden Sie sich bitte an
die nächste Grundfos Gesellschaft oder Werk-
statt.
Das Symbol mit einer durchgestrichenen
Mülltonne weist darauf hin, dass das
jeweilige Produkt nicht im Haushaltsmüll
entsorgt werden darf. Wenn ein Produkt,
das mit diesem Symbol gekennzeichnet
ist, das Ende seiner Lebensdauer
erreicht hat, bringen Sie es zu einer geeigneten
Sammelstelle. Weitere Informationen hierzu erhalten
Sie von den zuständigen Behörden vor Ort. Die

CIM 1XX LON-modulet (CIM = Communication Inter-
face Module) giver mulighed for dataoverførsel mel-
lem et LON-netværk og et Grundfos-produkt.
CIM 1XX er monteret i det produkt der skal kommu-
nikeres med eller i en CIU 1XX-enhed (CIU =
Communication Interface Unit).
Eftermontering af CIM 1XX er beskrevet i monte-
rings- og driftsinstruktionen for Grundfos-produktet.

3. Installation
3.1 LON-tilslutning
Grundfos anbefaler at bruge kabel i henhold til Eche-
lons standarder.
Eksempler på anbefalede kabeltyper
• Belden 85102
• Belden 8471
• Level IV, 22 AWG
• JY(St) Y 2 x 2 x 0,8
• TIA Category 5.
Et LON-netværk skal termineres. Termineringen
afhænger af den valgte netværkstopologi.
Montering af kabel
Fremgangsmåde:
Se fig. 2.
1. Tilslut lederne til klemme A (pos. 1).
2. Tilslut lederne til klemme B (pos. 2).
3. Tilslut de snoede skærmender til klemme
"Skærm" (pos. 3).

3.2 Registrering i et LON-netværk
Grundfos-produkter med CIM 1XX LON-modul regi-
streres af et LON-netværk på én af følgende måder:
• Service-pin
• Stregkodemærkat.
Service-pin
Når service-pin-trykknappen på modulet aktiveres,
udsender modulet en unik 48 bit ID-kode (Neuron ID)
som registreres i LON-netværket.

Stregkodemærkat
Neuron ID’en på modulet eller på vedlagte streg-
kodemærkat scannes ind og registreres i LON-net-
værket. Neuron ID’ens stregkode er i Code 128-for-
mat. Den ekstra stregkodemærkat kan sættes på en
bygningsinstallationsoversigt.
4. Lysdioder
CIM 1XX LON-modulet har to lysdioder. Se fig. 1.
• Gul Service-LED (LED1)
• Rød/grøn statuslysdiode (LED2) for intern kom-
munikation mellem CIM 1XX og Grundfos-pro-
duktet.
LED1
Den gule lysdiode på CIM 1XX fungerer som service-
LED. Når Grundfos-produktet tilsluttes forsynings-
spændingen, vil Service-LED’en kun lige blinke og
derefter forblive slukket hvis installationen er sket
korrekt. Ved afvigelser, se afsnit 5. Fejlfinding.
LED2
Advarsel
CIM 1XX må kun tilsluttes til SELV- eller
SELV-E-kredsløb.
Bemærk
Skærmen må kun tilsluttes til skærm-
klemmen på CIM 1XX LON-modulet.

Skærmen må aldrig tilsluttes til jord via
jordbøjlen. Se fig. 2, pos. 4.
Bemærk
Den afisolerede del af kabelskærmen skal
være så kort som mulig for at reducere
impedansen ved høje frekvenser.

Fejl på et CIM 1XX LON-modul kan findes ved at observere status på Service-LED’en (LED1) og lysdioden for
intern kommunikation (LED2). Se skemaet nedenfor.
