5. Installation
5.1 Pump position

The pump is designed for tank mounting in vertical
position. The pump is positioned in a hole cut into
the cover of the tank (upper side) and is secured to
the tank by four or two hexagon head screws through
the holes in the mounting flange. We recommend to
fit a sealing gasket between the pump flange and
tank.
Provide a clearance of minimum 50 mm above the
motor to ensure cooling of fan-cooled motors (MTA
120, 200 and 100H).
The pump is designed for indoor operation only.

6. Electrical connection
The electrical connection should be carried out in
accordance with local regulations.
The operating voltage and frequency are marked on
the pump nameplate. Make sure that the motor is
suitable for the power supply on which it will be used.
The motor must be connected to a motor-protective
circuit breaker.
We do not recommend operation via frequency
converter.
Terminal box positions
The terminal box can be turned to another position.
●The terminal box can be turned to another
position after delivery.
(●) The terminal box cannot be turned to another
position after delivery. The pump must be
ordered with the terminal box in position 3
o'clock.

Proceed as follows:
1. Remove the bolts securing the motor to the
pump.
2. Turn the motor to the required position.
3. Refit and tighten the bolts securing the motor to
the pump.
The electric motor should be connected to the supply
as shown in the diagram inside the terminal box
cover.
Warning
Never make any connections in the pump
terminal box unless the power supply has
been switched off.

7. Startup
The pump can be started against an open or a
closed discharge valve.
Before starting the pump:
• Make sure that all pipe connections are tight.
• Make sure that the pump is immersed to the
recommended level.
• Make sure that chip trays are not blocked by
impurities.
Start the pump as follows:
1. See the correct direction of rotation of the pump
on the motor fan cover or on the sight glass.
When seen from the top, the pump should rotate
counter-clockwise.
2. Start the pump and check the direction of
rotation.

8. Operation and maintenance
8.1 Lubrication and maintenance
Pumps installed in accordance with these
instructions require very little maintenance.
The motor ball bearings are grease-packed and
sealed for life. No further lubrication is necessary.
8.2 Filters
Chip trays, filters, etc. should be cleaned at regular
intervals to ensure a correct flow of liquid. This will
also increase the pump life.
8.3 Periodic checks
Make the following checks at regular intervals,
depending on the conditions and time of operation.
• Check the quantity of liquid and operating
pressure.
• Check that there are no leaks.
• Check that the motor is not overheating.
• Check the tripping of the motor-protective circuit
breaker.
• Check that all control devices are operating
satisfactorily.
If the above checks do not reveal any abnormal
operating details, no further checks are necessary.
Should any faults be found, see section 10. Fault
finding.
9. Service
A contaminated pump must not be sent to Grundfos
for service until Grundfos has received all necessary
details about the pumped liquid, etc. Otherwise
Grundfos can refuse to accept the pump for service.
Costs of returning the pump are to be paid by the
customer.

Warning
If a pump has been used for pumping
liquids which are injurious to human health
or poisonous, it will be classified as
contaminated.

10. Fault finding
11. Disposal
This product or parts of it must be disposed of in an
environmentally sound way:
1. Use the public or private waste collection service.
2. If this is not possible, contact the nearest
Grundfos company or service workshop.
Warning
Before starting work on the pump, make
sure that the power supply has been
switched off and that it cannot be
accidentally switched on.
Fault Cause Remedy
1. Motor does not run
when power supply
is switched on.
a) Supply failure. Connect the power supply.
b) Fuses are blown. Replace fuses.
c) Motor-protective circuit breaker
has tripped out. Reactivate the motor protection.
d) Main contacts in motor-protective
circuit breaker are not making
contact or the coil is faulty.
Replace contacts or magnetic coil.
e) Control circuit is defective. Repair the control circuit.
f) Motor is defective. Replace the pump.
2. Motor-protective
circuit breaker trips
out immediately
when power supply
is switched on.
a) Fuse on one phase is blown. Replace fuse.
b) Contacts in motor-protective circuit
breaker are faulty.
Replace contacts in motor-protective
circuit breaker.
c) Cable connection is loose or faulty. Fasten or replace the cable connection.
d) Motor winding is defective. Replace the pump.
e) Pump mechanically blocked. Remove the mechanical blocking of the
pump.
f) Overload setting is too low. Set the motor-protective circuit breaker
correctly.
3. Motor-protective
circuit breaker trips
out occasionally.
a) Overload setting is too low. Set the motor-protective circuit breaker
correctly.
b) Low voltage at peak times. Check the power supply.
4. Motor-protective
circuit breaker has
not tripped out but
the pump does not
run.

5. Pump runs but gives
no liquid or pump
capacity is not
constant.
a) Pump inlet partly blocked by
impurities. Clean the inlet.
b) Liquid level in tank too low. Increase the liquid level.
c) Pump rotates in the wrong

Change the direction of rotation of the
motor by switching any two of the
phases.

ルな どポン プ本体の部分を 利用 し て、
装置全体を 吊 り 上げる こ と は避け て く
ださい。
吊 り 上げる前に銘板、 梱包箱、 外形図、
カ タ ロ グ等に よ り 、 ポ ン プの質量を確
認 し 、 吊 り 具の定格荷重以上の質量を
吊らないで く ださい。

2.保証
納入品の保証期間は、 納入日よ り 1 ヶ 年と いた し ま
す。 ただ し 、 保証は日本国内で使用される場合に限
り ます。 保証期間中に本取扱説明書に従 っ た製品仕
様範囲内の正常な使用状態で故障を生じ た場合は、
故障部分の交換又は修理を無償で行います。 この場
合、 無償交換、 修理は、 納入品の故障、 破損部分の
交換又は修理に限 られ、 その他の費用の負担、 損害
につい ての責任は免除 さ せていた だき ます。
但し 、 次に該当する場合は、 こ の保証の範囲から除
外させていただきます。
1. 不適当な取 り 扱い、 使用、 な ら びに保存に よ り 生
じ た故障、 破損
2. 納入品以外の機器が原因に よ る故障、 破損
3. 当社以外の修理、 改造によ る故障、 破損
4. 当社指定品以外の部品を使用 し た場合の故障、 破

納入品に故障がある こ と を発見し た と きは、 直ち に
購入先ま たは弊社サー ビス まで ご連絡下 さ い。 納入
日よ り 1 ヶ 年以内に ご連絡がな い場合は、 故障、 破損
部分の交換又は修理は有償と な り ます。 また、 いか
な る場合において も、 その他の費用の負担、 損害に
ついての責任は免除 させていた だき ます。 故障の連
絡の際、 銘板記載事項 （型式、 製造番号な ど） と故
障状況をお知 らせ く だ さ い。

ポン プは タ ン ク に垂直に取付 る よ う 設計 さ れていま
す。ポンプはタンク上面カバーに明けた穴に設置し、
取付フ ラ ン ジのボル ト 穴を4本または2本の六角ボル
トで固定してください。ポンプフランジとタンクの間
にシール ・ ガス ケ ッ ト の取 り 付け を推奨 し ま す。
電動機に冷却 フ ァ ンの付いた機種(MTA120,200,
100H)は、 ポンプ上方に最低50ｍｍ隙間を空けて く
ださい。

7.電気配線
電気配線は、 電気設備技術基準 と内線規定に従 っ て、
行って く ださい。
ポン プ運転時の電圧や周波数は、 ポ ン プ銘板に記載
されています。使用電源が、 電動機に適 し ている こ と
を確認し て く ださい。
電動機は、 遮断器に接続 し て く だ さ い。
イ ン バー タ のご使用は推奨で き ません。
端子箱位置
端子箱の向きは変更で き ます。
●出荷後で も 端子箱の向きは変更で き ます。
(●) 出荷後は端子箱の向 きは変更で き ません。標準外
を ご希望の際は事前に ご用命 く だ さ い。

設定手順 ：
1. まず、 ポ ン プに電動機を固定 し ているボル ト を取
り外します。
2. 電動機の向き を変更 し ます。
3. ポ ン プ部に電動機 を固定 し て いる ボル ト を元ど お
り取付けます。
電気配線は、 端子箱カバー内側に表示 さ れている配
線図に従い、 接続 し て く だ さ い。
警告
ポン プ端子箱の接続をする際は、 必ず電源
を切ってから作業を行って く ださい。

8.始動
ポン プは吐出側バルブが開い た状態で も 閉 じ た状態
で も始動可能です。
ポン プ始動前に ：
•全ての配管接続部が確実に締め付け ら れて いる か
確認 し て く だ さ い。
•推奨液面レベルが確保 されているか確認し て く だ
さい。
•チ ッ プ ト レ イ等が堆積物で閉塞 されていないか確
認して く ださい。
ポンプ始動 ：
1. ポ ン プの正 し い回転方向は電動機 フ ァ ン カ バー
上、 若 し く はのぞ き窓から確認 し ます。回転方向
はポ ン プ上方か ら見て
反時計廻り です。
2. ポ ン プ を始動 さ せ、 回転方向をチ ェ ッ ク し ま す。

9.運転と 保守点検
9.1潤滑と 保守
こ の取扱説明書に従 っ て ポン プ を設置す る こ と で保
守管理が最小限と な り ます。
電動機ボールベア リ ングはグ リ ース封入 されたシー
ル ド 形です。潤滑補給は不要です。
9.2フ ィ ル タ ー
チ ッ プ ト レ イ 、 フ ィ ル タ ー等は、安定的な流量を 確保
する ため、 定期的に清掃 し て く だ さ い。ま た、 こ れに
よ り ポ ン プ寿命は延命 し ます。
9.3定期点検
使用条件や運転時間に応 じ て定期的に以下の点検を
行って く ださい。
•流量と 吐出圧力。
•液漏れが無いか。
•電動機が過熱し ていないか。
•電動機保護遮断器が正し く 機能するか。
•全ての制御機器が良好に機能 し ているか。
上記の点検項目に異常が見 られない場合、 ポ ン プは
正常に運転 し ています。
異常が確認さ れた場合、

10.サービス
汚染されたポンプ をグルン ド フ ォ スに送る前に、 必
ず使用液につい ての詳細をすべて ご連絡 く だ さ い。事
前の連絡が無い場合は、 ポ ン プのサー ビ スの受け入
れをお断 り さ せて いただ く 場合がご ざいます。ポ ン プ
返却に掛かる費用はお客様にてご負担いただけます
よ う お願い致 し ます。

12.廃棄処分
この製品お よび部品は、 環境に配慮 し た方法で処分
して下さい：
1. 廃棄処分業者に委託 し て下 さ い。
2. 廃棄処分業者がい ないか、 使用材料を取 り 扱 う こ
と がで き ない場合は、 お近 く のグルン ド フ ォ ス ま
たは当社のサー ビス店に ご連絡下 さ い。

ポン プに関わる作業を行 う 前に、 電源が切
れている こ と を確認し て く ださい。 又、 作
業中誤っ て電源が入ら ないよ う に注意 し て
ください。
不具合 原因 対策

d) 電動機巻線異常。 ポ ン プ を交換 し ま す。
e) 異物の噛み込みに よ る ポン プ停止。 ポン プに噛み込んだ異物 を取 り 除き ます。
f) 過負荷設定が低すぎる。 過負荷設定を正 し く する。
