Installation, connection and adjustment of the satellite aerial is a complex job
that should only be carried out by an authorised technician.

GENERAL_____________________________________________________________________________________
Reception of digital satellite signals
Dear customer,
To use the receiver you will need a suitable satellite aerial which must be instal-
led and aligned with the desired satellite (for example Astra).
In contrast to the transmission of analog satellite signals, no own transmission
frequency is assigned to each TV or radio channel, but several “services” are
assigned to one carrier (transponder).
Most of the service positions for this satellite TV receiver have been preprogram-
med with all the required settings to simplify the selection and the associated
satellite service settings.
The TV or radio “Services table” submenu states which satellite services have
been preprogrammed.
Naturally “new” satellite services can simply be programmed without problem.
The current satellite data can be called up from different stations (e.g. DF1,
SAT1 or 3SAT), taken from the Internet or a current satellite journal.
The user guide (menus) on the TV screen enables a dialogue between you and
the satellite TV receiver.
The satellite TV receiver responds to many functions that you select with the
remote control with informative menus and symbols on the TV screen.
You are led step by step, simply and comprehensibly, to the next possible setting.

INSTALLATION AND SAFETY _____________________________
In order that you may be entertained by this high-quality satellite receiver for a
long time to come, observe the following points when installing the satellite
receiver.
This satellite receiver is intended for the reception of image and sound signals.
Any other type of use is explicitly forbidden.
If the satellite receiver is exposed to temperature deviations, for example when
transporting from the cold into the warm, connect it to the mains and leave it for
at least two hours.
Do not expose the satellite receiver to any moisture.
The satellite receiver is designated for operation in dry rooms. Should you
nevertheless operate it outside, make absolutely sure that it is protected against
dampness (rain, water sprinklers).
Do not place vessels filled with fluid (vases or similar things) on the satellite
receiver. The vessel can tip over and the fluid can duly affect the electrical safety.
Do not place the satellite TV receiver in the immediate surroundings of the hea-
ting or in the blazing sunshine, as this could cause damage.
Place the satellite receiver on a level and hard surface. Do not place objects (for
example newspapers) on the satellite receiver or place mats under the satellite
receiver.
Minimum clearances (approx. 10 cm) must be kept when operating the satellite
receiver in a wall unit!
Storms represent a danger for every type of electrical device. Even if the satellite
receiver is switched off, it could be damaged by a lightning strike hitting the
mains and/or the aerial lead. Always disconnect the mains plug and aerial plug
when storms are apparent.
Do not open the satellite receiver under any circumstance. The manufacturer will
offer no guarantee for damage resulting from unqualified tampering.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ______________________
Switch the satellite receiver to standby when it is not used for long periods of
time (at night too). This will save energy.
Technology and ecology combine into a convincing overall concept with this
satellite TV receiver. Ecologically high-quality materials are used exclusively. The
packing is made of virtually 100 % recycled paper and the plastic content has
been reduced to a minimum.
Supplied batteries are free of mercury and cadmium – the use of of back-up
batteries has been relinquished for environmental reasons.
The number of plastic types has been reduced in order to ensure high-quality
recycling when the satellite TV receiver is put out of use – all larger plastic parts
are marked.
This satellite TV receiver is simple to disassemble to ease servicing and for opti-
mal recycling.
The batteries – those free of heavy metals too – must not be disposed of in the
domestic refuse. Used batteries must be taken to an old battery collection point
at the dealer’s and diposed of properly.
This operating manual is printed on recycled paper. This helps to take care of
our environment.

The key functions of the remote control unit
ǼǼSwitches the satellite receiver in standby mode.
1…9 Switch the satellite receiver on from standby on the selected
AV 0 service position 1 – 9.
When selecting a multi-digit service position, eg. 123, the digits
are entered in order from left to right. So, in the example, you
would enter 1, 2 and 3
You may select up to 999 SAT TV service positions and 999 SAT
radio service positions.

Long pressure: scroll through service positions.
When in a menu: select menu row or change setting.
OK Displays and exits the “Services table” submenu.
In the “Installation” main menu: calls up submenus.
In the submenus: selects a menu row/setting, changes then saves
