PSR250-12A1-D
is an AC input and DC output power module with a
maximum of 250 W power output. It provides port-
side intake and power
module-side exhaust airflows.
The PSR250-12A1-D provides the following features:
•Protection—Provides protection against input overcurrent, output current
limiting, input undervoltage, output overvoltage, output short circuit, and
overtemperature conditions.
•Redundancy—Two power modules can be connected in parallel to achieve 1+1
redundancy and load sharing.
•Hot swapping—You can install or remove a power module when the device is
operating correctly.

Power module
Power module status LED
An PSR250-12A1-D has a status LED on its front panel. The following table lists the LED status
and description.
LED status Description
Steady green The power module is operating correctly.
Flashing green The power module haspower input but is not installedon the device.
Steady red The power module is faulty or has entered protection state.
Red/green flashing

The power module has generated an alarm for power issues (such
as output overcurrent, output overload, and overtemperature), but
has not entered protection state.

LED status Description
Flashing red
•The power module does not have power input. The device is
installed with two power modules. If one has power input, but the
other does not, the status LED on the power module that does not
have power input flashes red.
•The power module has entered input undervoltage protection
state.
Off The power module does not have power input.
Installing and removing a power module
Before you install a power module, make sure it is compatible with the
device. For more information, see the installation guide for the device.
Safety precautions
To avoid bodily injury or damage to the power module and device, follow these
safety precautions:
(1) Before you install the power module, make sure it matches the airflowdirection
at the installation site.
(2) When you install and remove a power module, always wear an ESD wrist strap
and make sure it makes good skin contact.
(3) To avoid power module or device damage, make sure the operating voltage of
the power supply system is consistent with the rated voltage of the power
module, and the output voltage of the power module is consistent with the
voltage required by the device before installing the power module.
(4) To avoid bodily injury, do not touch any bare cables or terminals.
(5) Do not place the powermodule on a moist area and prevent liquid from flowing
into the power module.
(6) To avoid power module damage, do not open the power module. When the
internal circuits or components of the power module fail, contact the maintainer
for examining and repairing.
Tools
When you install and remove a power module and power cords, you must
wear an ESD wrist strap. Prepare it by yourself.
Installing a power module
To avoid bodily injury or device damage, follow the steps in the following
figure to install a power module.

(1) Wear an ESD wrist strap and make sure the strap makes good skin contact
and is reliably grounded.
(2) Remove the filler panel, if any, from the target power module slot. Keep the
filler panel secure for future use.
(3) Unpack the power module and verify that the power module model is correct.
Keep the power modulepackage secure for future use.
(4) Correctly orient the power module. Holding the power module handle with one
hand and supporting its bottom with the other, slide the power module slowly
into the slot along the guide rails until the latch of the power module clicks into
the slot. The power module and power module slot have disorientation
rejection designs. If you encounter a hard resistance while inserting the power
module, pull out the power module and insert it again.
•Follow theforward inertia to push the power moduleinto the
slot so that
the back end of the power module can have a good contact with the
backplane.
•
To avoid damaging orbending the powermodule terminals, pull out and
reinstall the power module in case of any misalignment.
Connecting a power cord
•Provide a circuit breaker for each power cord.
•Turn off the circuit breaker before connecting the power cord.

(1) Connect the female connector of the power cord to the power receptacle on
the power module.
(2) Use a releasable cable tie to secure the power cord to the power module
handle.
(3) Connect the other end of the power cord to an AC power source, and then turn
on the circuit breaker.
(4) Examine the status LED on the power module. If the LED is steady green, the
power cord is connected correctly. If the LED is off or red, examine the
installation and resolve the issues.
Removing a power module
To avoid bodily injury or device damage, follow the steps in the following
figure to remove a power module.
(1) Turn off the circuit breaker for the power module.
(2) Wear an ESD wrist strap and make sure the strap makes good skin contact
and is reliably grounded.

(3) Loosen the releasable cable tie and remove the power cord.
(4) Holding the power module handle with one hand, press the latch on the power
module towards the handle direction with your thumb, and pull the power
module part way out of the slot. Supporting the power module bottom with the
other, pull the power module out of the slot slowly.
(5) Put the removed power module on an antistatic mat or in its original package.
If you are
not to install a new power module, install a filler panel in the slotto
prevent dust from entering the chassis.
