Introduction
The PSR6000-ACV is a built-in power module with AC input and DC
output. It provides the device with both system power and PoE power,
which can be controlled through separate switches.

PSR6000
-ACV cannot work with power modules of other
models on the same device.

As shown in Figure 1, each PSR6000-ACV has four independent AC
input sockets, where,
•
Callout (5) is the system power input socket (SYS IN);
•
Callout (8) is the PoE power input sockets (PoE1, PoE2, and
PoE3).
The PSR6000-ACV is designed with two switches, of which,
•
Callout 6 is used to control the output of the entire power supply
system;

Callout (2) is used to control the PoE power output.
The PSR6000-ACV provides PoE power output on the premise that:
•
The system power switch is on and the system power output is
normal;
•
The PoE power switch is on and PoE input is available on at
least one of the three PoE sockets.
PoE output power of the PSR6000-ACV varies with number of PoE
power input lines. You can add or remove lines of PoE power
supplies as needed. For details, see Table 2.
In addition to providing dedicated PoE power supplies for devices
supporting PoE, PoE power output can also be used as
supplementary power supply for devices that do not support PoE:
•
With only the system power switch turned on, the maximum
power output of the system is 1150 W (110 VAC) or 1400 W (220
VAC).
•
If the power requirements of the entire system exceed the
maximum system power provided by the PSR6000-ACV, PoE
power output can be used as supplements. To do this, turn on
the PoE power switch and select lines of PoE power supplies as
needed. For details, refer to the installation manual of related
devices.
CAUTION:
•
Input voltage for the system power input, PoE 1, PoE 2, and
PoE 3 must be the same. It can be either 110 VAC or 220
VAC for power supplies of the power module.
•
Turn off the PoE power switch if PoE power supply is not
required by the device. For more information, see the
installation guide or hardware information and specifications
for the device.

LEDs
Each PSR6000-ACV provides eight red/green bi-color LEDs. Table 3
describes the LEDs of the power module.

CAUTION:
•
The power module provides PoE power output only if the
system power output is normal.
•
It would be normal that the power LED remains on for a
period of time after you turn off the power switch.
•
Avoid turning on and off the power switch frequently.After
turning off the power switch, wait at least 30 seconds before
turning it on again.

Installing/Removing the
PSR6000-ACV
Follow the procedures shown in Figure 2 and Figure 3 to install or
remove the power module.

Preparations
Before installing the power module, you need to prepare an
ESD-preventive wrist strap and a No. 1 Phillips screwdriver.
Installing the Power Module
Follow these steps to install the power module:
1. Put on an ESD-preventive wrist strap and make sure it has a
good skin contact and is well grounded.
2. Supporting the bottom of the power module with one hand and
holding the handle with the other hand, slowly push the power
module along the guide rails into the chassis until it well touches
the interface on the backplane of the chassis.
3. Fasten the captive screws with a No. 1 Phillips screwdriver to fix
the power module to the chassis of the switch.

CAUTION:
•
Avoid excessive force when inserting the power module into
the chassis.
•
To protect the interfaces of the power module and the
backplane, pull out the power module and then insert it
again in the case of any misalignment.
•
If the captive screws cannot be tightened, check whether
the power module is properly installed.
Removing the Power Module
Remove the power module in the reverse process of installation:
1. Put on an ESD-preventive wrist strap and loosen the captive
screws of the power module.

2. Supporting the bottom of the power module with one hand and
holding the handle with the other hand, slowly pull the power
module out along the guide rails.
CAUTION:
The power module is heavy. Pull the powe
r module out slowly
with one hand holding its handle and the other hand supporting
its bottom.
Connecting the Power Cord
Turn off the switch of the busbar before connecting or removing the
power cord.

The cable retention clip is supplied with the power module. Before
connecting the power cord, install the clip on the power cord first.
NOTE:
The cable retention clip is designed for the power cords
provided by H3C only. For other power cords, omit the
information in this section.
Follow these steps to install a cable retention clip:
1. Place two parts of the clip around the connector and align the
holes on two parts of the clip.
2. Fix the clip on the power connector with screws using the No. 1
Phillips screwdriver, as shown in Figure 5.
Connecting the Power Cord
Connect the power cord to the power module after installing the cable
retention clip on the connector. The procedures for connecting power
cords to the four power input sockets on the PSR6000-ACV are the
same.

Follow these steps to connect the power cord:
1. Plug the power connector in the power socket of the
PSR6000-ACV. The holes on the cable retention clip and the
power module should be aligned.
NOTE:
When connecting the power cord, if the holes on the clip are not
aligned with that on the power module, the clip cannot be
correctly installed. In this case, rotate the clip and try again.
2. Fix the clip on the power connector with screws using the No. 1
Phillips screwdriver.

3. Connect the other end of the power cord to the AC power input.
CAUTION:
Since
typically 10 A busbars are available in the equipment
room
but the PSR6000-ACV power module requires a 16 A
power cable (AC), you need to use a 16 A busbar.
