The module identifier NSQM1FAB08E0 is on the far left of the front panel.
2 About the module
The NSQM1FAB08E0 switching fabric module provides one console port.

IMPORTANT:
An M9016-V gateway requires a minimum of three switching fabric modules, and slots 10 and 11
must be installed with switching fabric modules.
4 LEDs
The module provides LEDs to show its operating status.

5 Installing and removing the module
CAUTION:
Wear a reliably grounded ESD wrist strap when installing and removing the module.
5.1 Installing the module
1. Face the rear panel of the device.
2. Remove the filler panel from the target slot.
This example installs the module in slot 10 on an M9016-V gateway.
3. Place the module horizontally with the component side facing up. Fully open the ejector levers
of the module and then gently push the module into the slot along the guide rails.
4. Continue to push the module on the middle part of the front panel until the ejector levels touch
the slot edges.

5. Close the ejector levers. Make sure the module is in close contact with the backplane.

6. Use a Phillips screwdriver to fasten the captive screws on the module.
5.2 Removing the module
1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the captive screws on the module until all pressure is
released.
2. Simultaneously open the ejector levers on the module to separate the module from the
backplane, and then pull the module slowly out of the chassis along the guide rails.

3. Place the module on an anti-static workbench or put it in an anti-static bag, with the component
side facing up.
If you are not to install a new module, install a filler panel in the slot to prevent dust and ensure
good ventilation in the device.
