For Free-Standing Ranges
Tocheck ifthebracketisinstalled, ensurethereis no
cookwareon topoftherangeand allsurfacesare cool
tothe touch.Carefullyslideoutthe rangefromthe wall
approximatelythree inches.Lookbehindtherange to
seeif thereisametalbracket attachedtothe flooror
thewall. Tocheckifthebracket isinstalledcorrectly,
graspthe backoftherange,being carefulnotto graborbend thereartrim piece.Tiltthe rangeforwardslightlyandconfirm
theanti-tip bracketengagesthebackof therange,limiting theforwardtip oftherange. Ifthe
anti-tipbracket doesnotengagetherange andpreventit fromtipping,verify theanti-tipbracket
hasbeen properlyinstalled.Ifthisdoes notsolvethe problemorthe anti-tipbracketis not
present,call 800.626.8774intheUSor 800.561.3344inCanada.
Ifthe range ispulledfromthewall for anyreason,alwaysrepeat this procedure toverifythe
rangeis properly securedbytheanti-tipbracket.
Nevercompletely removethelevelinglegsor therangewill notbesecured totheanti-tip

• Havethe installer show youthelocationof the range
gasshut-off valve and howtoturnit off ifnecessary.
• Plugyour range into a120-voltgroundedoutlet only.
Donot remove the roundgroundingprongfrom the
plug.If in doubt aboutthegroundingof the home
electricalsystem, it is yourresponsibilityandobligation
tohave an ungrounded outletreplacedwitha properly
grounded,three prong outlet inaccordancewiththe
NationalElectrical Code. Do notuseanextension cord
withthis appliance.
• Beforeperforming any service, unplugtherange
ordisconnect the power supplyatthehousehold

Airopenings are located attherearof the cooktop,at
thetop and bottom oftheovendoor, and atthebottom
ofthe range under thewarmingdrawer,lower oven
draweror kick panel.
• Useonly dry pot holders—moistordamppot holders
onhot surfaces may resultinburnsfrom steam. Donot
letpot holders touch surfaceburners,burnergrate, or
ovenheating element. Do notuseatowel or otherbulky
clothin place of potholders.
• Donot touch the heatingelementsorthe interior
surfaceof the oven. Thesesurfacesmaybe hot
enoughto burn even thoughtheyaredark in color.
Duringand after use, donottouch,or let clothingor
otherflammable materials contact anyinteriorareaof
theoven; allow sufficient timeforcoolingfirst. Other
surfacesof the appliance maybecomehotenough
tocause burns. Potentially hotsurfacesincludethe
burners,grates, oven vent opening,surfacesnearthe
opening,and crevices around theovendoor.
• Donot heat unopened foodcontainers.Pressurecould
buildup and the containercouldburst,causing an injury.

• Ifthere is a fireintheoven during baking,smotherthe
fireby closing the ovendoorandturning the ovenoffor
byusing a multi-purpose drychemicalorfoam-type fire
extinguisher.
• Ifthere is a fireintheoven during self-clean,turnthe
ovenoff and wait forthefireto go out.Donotforce
thedoor open. Introduction offreshairat self-clean
temperaturesmay lead to aburstofflame from the
oven.Failure to follow thisinstructionmayresult in
severeburns.
WARNING COOKTOP SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Neverleave the surface burnersunattendedatmedium
orhigh heat settings. Foods,especiallyoilyfoods, may
igniteresulting in fire thatcouldspreadto surrounding
cabinets.
• Neverleave oil unattended whilefrying.Ifallowed to
heatbeyond its smoking point,oilmayignite resulting
infire that may spreadtosurroundingcabinets. Use a
deepfat thermometer whenever possibletomonitoroil
temperature.
• Toavoid oil spillover andfire,usethe minimum amount
ofoil when using ashallowpan-fryingand avoid cooking
frozenfoods with excessive amountsofice.
• Useproper pan size andavoidpansthat are unstableor
easilytipped. Select cookware thatismatchedto the
sizeof the burner. Burnerflamesshouldbe adjusted so
thatthey do not extendbeyondthebottom of thepan.
Excessiveflame may be hazardous.
• Alwaysuse the LITE positionwhenignitingthe top
burnersand make sure theburnershaveignited.
• Whenusing glass/ceramic cookware, makesureitis
suitablefor cooktop service; othersmaybreakbecause
ofsudden change in temperature.
• Tominimize the possibility ofburns,ignitionof
flammablematerials and spillage, thehandleofa
containershould be turned towardthecenterof the
rangewithout extending over nearbyburners.
• Donot use a wokwitharound metal supportring.The
ringmay trap heat andblockairto the burnerresulting
ina carbon monoxide hazard.
• Donot attempt to liftthecooktop.Doing so may
damagethe gas tubing tothesurfaceburners resulting
ina gas leak andriskoffire.
• Donot use aluminum foiltocoverthe grates orline
anypart of the cooktop.Doingsomay result incarbon
monoxidepoisoning, overheating of thecooktop
surfaces,or a potential firehazard.

WARNING NEVER cover any slots, holes, or
passages in the oven bottom or cover an entire rack
with materials such as aluminum foil or oven liners.
Doing so blocks air flow through the oven and may
cause carbon monoxide poisoning. Never place foil
or oven liners on the oven bottom. They can trap
heat causing risk of smoke or fire.
• Standaway from the rangewhenopeningthe oven
door.Hot air or steamwhichescapescan cause burns
tohands, face and/or eyes.
• Neverplace cooking utensils, pizzaorbakingstones,
orany type of foilorlineron the ovenfloor.These
itemscan trap heat ormelt,resultingin damage tothe
productand risk of shock,smokeorfire.
• Placeoven racks in desiredlocationwhileoven is cool.
Ifrack must be movedwhileovenis hot, becarefulto
avoidtouching hot surfaces.
• Donot leave items suchaspaper,cooking utensils, or

How to Remove Protective Shipping Film and Packaging Tape
Carefullygrasp a corner oftheprotectiveshipping film with
yourfingers and slowly peelitfromthe appliance surface.Do
notuse any sharpitemstoremove the film.Removeallof the
filmbefore using the applianceforthefirst time.
Toassure nodamageisdoneto thefinishof theproduct,the
safestway toremovetheadhesivefrom packagingtapeon new
appliancesis anapplicationofahousehold liquiddishwashing
detergent.Apply withasoftclothand allowtosoak.
NOTE:Theadhesivemust be removed fromallparts.It
cannotbe removed if itisbakedon.

IN CASE OF A POWER FAILURE
Inthe event of apowerfailure,the oven isinoperableandno
attemptshould be made tooperateit.However, the surface
burnersmay be lit withamatch.Using extreme caution,
holda lit match neartheportsbeneath the surfaceburner
cap,then slowly turn theknobtothe LITE position.Oncelit,
surfaceburners will continue tooperatenormally.
SURFACE BURNERS
Lighting a Surface Burner
WARNING Burners should be operated only when
covered by cookware. Burner flames not covered by
cookware present a risk of fire or clothing ignition. Never
let flames extend beyond the sides of the cookware.
Failure to comply may result in serious injury.
Makesure all burners areintheircorrect locations andfully
assembledbefore attempting to operateanyburner.
Selecta burner and finditscontrolknob. Push theknobin
andturn it to theLITEposition.
Youwill hear a clickingnoise—thesoundof the electricspark
ignitingthe burner. When oneburneristurned to LITE,all
burnerswill spark. Sparking willcontinueaslong as theknob
remainsat LITE. Once gasisignited,turn the knobtoadjust
theflame size.
Selecting a Flame Size
Watchthe flame, not theknob,asyou adjust heat.When
rapidheating is desired, theflamesizeshould match the
sizeof the cookware youareusing.Flames larger thanthe
bottomof the cookware willnotheatfaster and maybe
hazardous.
Using the Surface Burners
NOTES:
• Donot operate the burnerforanextended period oftime
withoutcookware on the grate.Thefinishon the grate
maydiscolor or chip withoutcookwaretoabsorb the heat.
• Donot attempt to disassembleanyburnerwhile another
burneris on. Damage totheproductmay occur.
• Besure the burners andgratesarecool before youplace
yourhand, a pot holderorcleaningmaterials on them.
Yourrangetop has sealed gasburnersthatoffer
convenience,cleanability and flexibility forawiderange of
cookingapplications.
Thesmallest burner is thesimmerburner.A simmer burner
turneddown to LO providesprecisecookingperformance
forfoods such as delicatesaucesthatrequire low heatfora
longcooking time.
Surface Burner
Theround burner is forgeneralcookingpurposes. Size
cookwareappropriately to the flames.

Theseflamesaretoolarge forthepot
Pushthecontrolknobin andturnittothe LITEposition.

SURFACE BURNERS (Cont.)
Top-of-Range Cookware
Aluminum: Medium-weightcookware is recommended
becauseit heatsquicklyand evenly.Mostfoods brownevenly
inan aluminum skillet. Usesaucepanswithtight-fitting lids
whencooking with minimum amountsofwater.
StainlessSteel: Thismetalalonehas poorheatingproperties
andis usually combined withcopper,aluminumor other
metalsfor improved heat distribution.Combinationmetal
skilletsusually work satisfactorily iftheyareused with
mediumheat or as themanufacturerrecommends.
Cast-Iron:Ifheatedslowly,mostskilletswill givesatisfactory
results.
Enamelware: Undersome conditions, the enamelofsome
cookwaremay melt. Follow thecookwaremanufacturer’s
recommendationsfor cooking methods.
Glass:There aretwotypesofglass cookware—thosefor
ovenuse onlyandthosefortop-of-range cooking(saucepans,
coffeeand teapots).Glassconductsheatvery slowly.
Heatproof Glass Ceramic: Canbe used for eithersurfaceor
ovencooking. It conducts heatveryslowlyand cools very
slowly.Check the cookware manufacturer’sdirectionstobe
sureit can be usedongasranges.
Stove Top Grills
Donot use an after-marketstovetopgrill on yourgas
surfaceburners. A stove topgrillwillcause incomplete
combustionresulting in carbon monoxidelevelsabove
allowablestandards. This could behazardoustoyour health.
UsingaWok
Useonly a flat-bottomed wokwithadiameter of 14inchesor
less.Make sure the wokbottomsitsflat on thegrate.
Donot use a woksupportring.Placing the ringoverthe
burneror grate may causetheburnerto work improperly,
resultingin carbon monoxide levelsaboveallowable
standards.This could be hazardoustoyourhealth.
OVEN CONTROLS
Oven Mode Selector Knob
Turnthe Oven Mode Selectorknobtothe mode youwant.
Youroven has the followingcookingmodes:Bake Broil and
ConvectionBake. See Cooking ModessectionandSteam
Cleanfor more information.

Oven Temperature Knob
Turnthe Oven Temp knob to thesettingyouwant until
Oven/Cyclelight turns off.
TheOven/Cycle light comes onwhentheburner is on.Itwill
cycleon and off duringcooking.
To Adjust the Thermostat:
1. Pullthe Oven Temp knob off therangeandlook
atthe back side. Tomakeanadjustment, loosen
(approximatelyone turn),butdo not completelyremove,
thetwo screws on thebackofthe knob.
2. Withthe back of theknobfacingyou, hold theouter
edgeof the knob withonehandand turn thefrontofthe
knobwith the other hand.
Toincrease the oven temperature,movethetop screw
towardthe right. You’ll hearaclickfor each notchyou
movethe knob.
Todecrease the oven temperature,movethetop screw
towardthe left.
Eachclick will change theoventemperature
approximately10°F. (Range is plusorminus30°F from
thearrow.) We suggest thatyoumakethe adjustment
oneclick from the originalsettingandcheck oven
performancebefore making any additionaladjustments.

3. Afterthe adjustment is made,retightenscrewsso they
aresnug, but be carefulnottoovertighten.
4. Replacethe knob, matching theflatareaof the knobto
theshaft, and check performance.
Timer/Clock Display
1. Timer/Clock:Worksasacountdowntimerand aclock.
Toset the countdown timer,presstheTimer/Clock pad
anduse the +and -padstosetthe time inhoursand
minutes.After seeing the time,presstheTimer/Clock
padagain and the ":"willstopblinking indicating the
timerhas started. To cancelthetimer,press the Timer/
Clock padto ensure the ":"isblinking.Then change the
timeto 0:00 and presstheTimer/Clock padchanging it
backto the clock time.
Toset the clock, pressandholdthe Timer/Clock pad
severalseconds and use the+and-padsto set the
clock.After changing the time,hittheTimer/Clock pad
tofinalize the clock time.
2. Oven Light:Turns the ovenlightonoroff.
3. - Pad:Use to decreasetimeforthecountdown timer
andclock. Short taps tothispadwill decrease thetime
bysmall amounts. Holding thepaddownwill decrease
thetime by large amounts.
4. + Pad:Use to increasetimeforthecountdown timer
andclock. Short taps tothispadwill increase thetimeby
smallamounts. Holding the paddownwillincrease the
timeby large amounts.
5. Lock Out:Locks out thetimerandclockdisplay so
thatpressing any of thepadswillbe disabled. Press
andhold the Lock Out pad forthreesecondsto lock or
unlockthe display.
SABBATH MODE
Certainmodels comply with theStar-KJewishSabbath
requirementsfor use during theSabbathandholidays. For
thelatest list of models,seestar-k.org.
Start Baking
Tostart baking, simply turnthethermostatknob to the
desiredtemperature. Because a thermostatmodelwill
respondwith a clicking soundwhenthethermostat knob is
usedto turn on theoven,thisoperation should takeplace
beforethe Sabbath or Holidaysbegin.
Adjusting the Temperature
Toadjust the oven temperaturewhileincompliance with
Sabbathrequirements, the user mustobservetheoven ON
indicatorlight:
• Toadjust the oven temperaturetoahigher value, theuser
mustfirst confirm the "OVENON"lightis on. Onlythen,
canthe user turn theknobtoa higher temperaturethan
waspreviously set.
• Toadjust the oven temperaturetoalower value, theuser
mustfirst confirm the "OVENON"lightis off. Onlythen,
canthe user turn theknobtoa lower temperaturethan
waspreviously set.
Stop Baking
Tostop baking, simply turnthethermostatknob to theoff
position.Because a thermostat modelwillrespondwith a
clickingsound when the thermostatknobisused to turnoff
theoven, this operation shouldtakeplaceafter the Sabbath
orHolidays end.
Oven Light Operation
Theoven light can besettoeither on oroffpriorto the start
ofthe Sabbath or theholiday.Openingand closing ofthe
doorwill not change thestateofthe oven light.
Sabbath Mode Power Outage Note
Ifa power outage occursduringaSabbath bake, theunitwill
returnto Sabbath bake modewhenpoweris restored and
theoven will return tothesametemperature as beforethe
outage,without any intervention fromtheuser.

COOKWARE GUIDELINES
Thematerial, finish, and sizeofcookwareaffect baking
performance.
Dark,coated anddullpansabsorbheat morereadilythan light,
shinypans. Pansthatabsorbheatmore readilycanresult in
abrowner, crisperandthickercrust.If usingdarkand coated
cookwarecheck foodearlierthantheminimum cooktime.If
undesirableresults areobtainedwiththistype ofcookware
considerreducing oventemperatureby25ºF nexttime.
• Shinypans can producemoreevenlycookedbaked goods
suchas cakes andcookies.
• Glassand ceramic pansheatslowlybutretain heat well.
Thesetypes of pansworkwellfordishes such aspiesand
custards.
• Airinsulated pans heat slowlyandcanreduce bottom
browning.
• Keepcookware clean to promoteevenheating.
COOKING MODES
Yournew oven has avarietyofcooking modes tohelpyou
getthe best results. Thesemodesaredescribed below.
Referto the Cooking Guidesectionforrecommendations
forspecific foods. Remember, yournewovenmay perform
differentlythan the oven itisreplacing.
Bake
Thebake mode is forbakingandroasting. When preparing
bakedgoods such as cakes,cookiesandpastries, always
preheatthe oven first. Tousethismode turn thethermostat
knobto the desired temperature.
Convection Bake Multi Rack
TheConvection Bake mode isintendedforbaking on
multipleracks at the sametime.Thismode uses air
movementfrom the convection fantoenhancecooking
evenness.Lower the temperature 25degrees.Always
preheatwhen using this mode.Bakingtimesmay be slightly
longerfor multiple racks thanwhatwouldbe expected for

Rack Positions
Youroven hasfourrackpositionsin theoven.Recommended
rackpositions for various typesoffoodsare provided in
theCooking Guide. Adjusting therackpositionis one way
toimpact cooking results. Forexample,ifyou would prefer
darkertops on cakes, muffinsorcookies,try moving food
onerack position higher. Ifyoufindfoods are toobrownon
top,try moving them downnexttime.
Whenbaking with multiple pansandonmultiple racks, ensure
thereis sufficient space betweenpanstoallow air toflow.

Removing and Replacing Flat Racks
Whenplacing and removing cookware,pulltherack out to
