SlingBarSpreader M is a sling sidebar that is used in pairs in combination with a slingbar on an overhead or mobile lift.
Sling sidebars are used to enable more space in the sling, particularly for heavy or pain-sensitive patients.
Handicare’s SystemRoMedic product series includes a range of lifts, slings and other accessories. SystemRoMedic
adopts a holistic approach to patient transfers and is organized in four categories: transfer, positioning, support and
lifting.

Visual inspection
Check the condition and function of the product regularly. Check to ensure that material are free from damage. Check to
ensure that fabric is not worn or faded. If there are signs of wear, the product must be discarded.
Always read the manuals for all assistive devices used during a transfer.
Keep the manual where it is accessible to users of the product.
Do not leave the patient unattended during a transfer situation.
To prevent discomfort and the risk of the patient sliding out of the sling, trial fit the sling carefully. First, apply the sling’s
back loops to the slingbar, and then apply the leg support loops. Use a slingbar that has been tested.
The lowest allowable safe working load always determines the safe working load of the assembled system. Always
check the safe working loads for the lift and accessories before use. Contact your dealer if you have any questions.

Product description, SlingBarSpreader M
SlingBarSpreader M is made of aluminium.
SlingBarSpreader M is used in combination with Handicare-approved overhead and mobile lifts. The lift hooks are
equipped with safety latches.
SlingBarSpreader M is always used in pairs in combination with a Handicare-approved slingbar.
Important information!
• SlingBarSpreader may only be used in pairs.
• Suspension loops must not be twisted.
• May not be used as a slingbar and coupled to the link on the lift unit.
• Place the SlingBarSpreader so that the head symbols on are on the same side on the slingbar.
• The sling’s back loops must always be hooked to the lift hook, which is marked with a head.
Assembly
Hook the suspension loops to the lift hook on the slingbar. Do the same on the other side.
Note! Check to ensure that the head symbols on the SlingBarSpreader are on the same side on the slingbar.
Head
Use
Fit the sling to the patient (see the user manual for the sling model that is being used).
Place the sling’s back loops on the side of the SlingBarSpreader M that is marked with a
head symbol. Leg sections are place on the other side.
Note! When using a sling with 3-point suspension, the middle loop is placed on the
same side as the back loops. They must not be placed on the slingbar to which the
SlingBarSpreader M attached.

Safe working load
Different products on the same lift system (lift unit, slingbar, sling, scales and other lifting accessories) may have different
allowable safe working loads. The lowest allowable safe working load always determines the safe working load of the
assembled system. Always check the safe working loads for the lift and accessories before use. Contact your dealer if you
have any questions.
Cleaning
When necessary, clean with warm water or rubbing alcohol. Do not use cleaning agents containing phenol or chlorine, as
this may damage the material.
