Congratulations and thank-you for your purchase of Hogtunes
REV 450 RGU KIT-AA amp speaker kit. Since positive word of mouth is the
best way to grow our business, we want your new kit to work as well as it
was designed to. If you have any questions or concerns, we are here to

Getting Started:
Step #1: Remove your seat and both wires from your battery. Remove your
outer fairing/headlamp assembly, and set aside. Refer to a service manual
if you need help with this. It’s always a good idea to have a towel or
something similar on your front fender to avoid dings or scratches if
anything is dropped. Expletives will also be kept to a minimum!
Step #2: Unplug the factory wires at each front speaker. Locate and 3
remove the 3 torx head screws, and single “speed nut” that holds each
factory speaker grill to the bike. The speakers and grills will come away
from the inner fairing as one unit.
Step#3: Separate the Hogtunes 3572-AA speakers from their grills. If you
want to use the supplied steel mesh grills, continue to Step #4. If you want
to keep the stock grill cloth look, take your stock grills and CAREFULLY sep-
arate the factory plastic mesh that holds the grill cloth from the main grill
“ring”. Carefully remove the Hogtunes steel mesh from the Hogtunes ring.
Your factory mesh/grill cloth should have enough “tack” to stick onto the
Hogtunes ring, but will be secured when the grills are installed.
Step #5: Remove the 4 screws that hold each rear speaker grill in place.
Unplug each rear speaker and remove from the bike. Put these aside for
now noting the grills and screws will be re used.
DO NOT USE THE FACTORY SCREWS FOR STEP #4!
Step#4: In the kit is a bag with 6 Phillips head screws. Using these supplied
screws, install each 3572-AA grill to the bike and re-install the stock “speed
nut” on each side. Re-attach the 5x7’s to the Hogtunes grills using the
screws you took out in Step 3, noting that the speakers must be oriented in
the grills so the wire connectors are closest to the radio. Let the factory
speaker wires hang for now.

Preparing And Mounting The Amp:
Step #1: Turn the amp over
and remove the 4 screws
on the power connector
side of the amplier
Step #2: Put the plate over
the amp as shown and
reinstall 4 screws into
holes marked “B”. Apply
1 side of hook and loop in
area shown on plate.
Step #3: On the “Brake
Side”, clean the area on
the inner fairing where
other half of hook and
loop adhesive will go. The
bolts that hold the turn
signals in place will secure
the plate even though the
adhesive does most of the
work.
Take the amp out of its box and the “RG4CH-AA” plate out of its box. The older
NCA 450-AA amp, and REV 450-AA amp that came in this kit mount identically.
The NCA version is shown in the images below.
Note: Most adhesives work best on clean surfaces and at room temperature!
Isopropyl alcohol is a great cleaner. Do not use Acetone!
Please MAKE SURE the
“fader/no fader” switch is
set to “FADER” and the
“rear speaker selector”
switch is set to “A”.

Step# 1: Locate the power harness and plug it into the mating connector on the
amp. Locate the input harness and insert its black 8 pin plug into the amps
“audio input”. Locate the long “rear speaker” harness with 8 wires in it. One
end has a white 8 pin connector, the other end has two 4 pin connectors. Plug
one of these 4 pin connectors into the empty white 4 pin plug on the input
harness. The other 4 pin plug on the long rear harness will plug into the “rear
out” on the amp. Locate the “front out” harness and plug into the “front out”
on the amp. Note: There is a blue socket on the amp labeled “bypass out”. This
carries the radios built in power and although not used in this kit, is there to
make it easy to add more amps or speakers.
Step# 2: Take the yellow/black wires on the input harness, and plug them into
the front factory speaker wires on the clutch side of the bike. They will only go
in one way. Take the brown/black wires on the “front out” harness and plug
them into the front clutch side speaker. They will only go in one way. Take the
green/black wires on the input harness and plug them into the front factory
speaker wires on the brake side of the bike. Take the blue/black on the front
out harness, and plug them into the brake side front speaker. Again, these will
only go on one way.
Power And Rear Harness Routing And Wiring:
Step #1: Just in front of the tank, on the brake side of the bike, on the back
bone of the frame is a rectangular opening where factory wires pass from the
inner fairing to the rest of the bike. The power and ground wires, and rear
speaker wires will pass through this opening. Note: install time will be cut
down if another wire if “shed” through from the opening side into the
fairing, taped to the Hogtunes wires, and pulled through.
Step #2: Loosen the tanks “chrome console” and run wires up and over the gas
tank, but under the tanks chrome console. There is a provision on the front of
the tank console for wires to pass. When correctly installed, the power and
ground wires are the right length to connect to the battery, and the remaining
8 pin harness will go towards the brake side fender strut. Be sure to run the 8
pin harness UNDER the air line for rear shock. Note: Although not necessary,
you can run the power and rear wire harness under the tank if you choose to re
& re the fuel tank.
Step#3: Locate the “rear out” harness and plug it into the 8 pin connector on
the rear harness. You will see 2 pairs of shorter wires, and 2 pairs of longer
wires. Put the ends of the shorter wires into the brake side rear speaker box.
These wires will enter where the factory wires enter each rear speaker box.
Wiring The Amp:

Step #4: Plug the factory rear speaker wires into the male connectors of the
amp harness. Take a Hogtunes rear speaker (model 352R-AA) and plug the
female connectors of the amp harness onto the speaker. Repeat this step using
wires on the other side of the bike. NOTE: The factory rear speaker wires do not
have insulators on them. Please wrap each factory rear speaker connector with
a bit of electrical tape to prevent the factory connectors from making contact
with each other.
Step #5: Once you are condent the wires are correctly attached to the rear
speakers, sit them in place, put the grills back on, and secure the speakers by
reinstalling the 4 screws on each grill. Attach the amps red wire to the positive
(+) battery terminal and the amps black wire to the negative (-) battery
terminal. The factory battery wires are also re-installed at this point. When
attaching the power and ground wires, it is always a good practice to do the
positive rst.
Step #6: Turn the stereo on, and at low volume, test to make sure all 4 speakers
are working. Make sure the radios fader control is adjusting the volume
between front and rear speakers. If not, make sure the “Fader/ No
Fader” switch is set to “FADER”. Re-install the seat making sure the ampliers
“+” and “-” connectors are positioned in such away so they will not bend or
break when the riders weight is on the seat. This is the best time to take a few
minutes to “clean up” the wiring and secure using supplied zip-ties.
Adjusng Bass and Treble Using Your Bikes Radio:
The way the system sounds sing sll or at a stop light will be RADICALLY
dierent from how it sounds “at speed”. You are able to use the radios controls to
adjust the sound, but please do so carefully when riding. When adjusng bass and
treble, for best results, try not to exceed 3-4 past the middle posion on your
radio. We have found seng your radios Automac Volume Control (AVC) to “3
bars” works best.
Re-install the fairing and your system is now ready to enjoy!
Before re-installing outer fairing, turn front wheel to
each extreme side making sure any wiring is not
impeding the steering of the motorcycle.
Failure to do so can result in serious injury or death!

Hogtunes branded speakers are warranted for 20 years from original purchase
date. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims. The warranty
applies to the original retail customer, and is not transferable. Please contact
Hogtunes for all warranty claims. Products found to be defective during the
warranty period will be repaired or replaced (with a product deemed to be
equivalent) at Hogtunes sole discretion. Hogtunes complete warranty policy is
available on our website at www.hogtunes.com
What Is Not Covered:
1) Any expense related to the removal or re-installation of Hogtunes products.
2) Repairs to these products performed by anyone other than Hogtunes.
3) Subsequent damage to any other components.
4) Any product purchased from a non-authorized Hogtunes dealer.
5) Damage to Hogtunes products due to an accident or collision.
6) Hogtunes Ampliers with broken or removed “warranty void” stickers.
7) Damage due to water from custom installations.
8) Damage from incorrect installation, improper use, abuse or modications.
9) Damage to inbound product due to improper packing.
