GENERAL INFORMATION
T e ADEMCO 6150 and ADEMCO 6160 are addressable
Remote Keypads designed for use wit ADEMCO control
panels. Addresses are set via t e keypad keys.
T e keys on t e keypads are continuously backlit for
convenience.
Supervised by control panel (if supported).
ULC
For ULC installations, the VISTA-128 P/VISTA-250 P
Series must be used with the ADEMCO 6160 keypad.

SPECIAL FUNCTION KEYS
T e keypads also feature function keys. T ese keys may be
programmed for panic alarms or ot er special functions
suc as macros. See t e control's instructions for details.
Function keys must be held down for at least 2
seconds to activate an alarm; key pairs are activated
immediately.

WIRING AND INSTALLATION
T e keypads can be surface mounted directly to a drywall,
or to a single- or double-gang electrical box.
1. Pus t e two case release snaps at t e bottom of t e
keypad wit t e blade of a medium screwdriver (t is will
pus in t e release snap), t en pull t at side of t e case
back away. Insert t e screwdriver in t e side of t e
keypad (between t e front and back case) and gently
twist to release t e side locking tab. Repeat for t e ot er
side. Refer to Figure 1 for location of t e case back
release snaps and locking tabs.
2. Route wiring from t e control panel t roug t e opening
in t e case back.
3. Mount t e case back to a wall or electrical box.
4. Wire directly from t e keypad’s terminal block
to t e
terminal block on t e control panel. (See Wiring Table
below).
NOTE: No more than one wire per terminal may be
connected. If daisy-chained configuration is required,
pig-tail wires together so that only one wire is
terminated under the screw. Use 14-22 WG wire only!

SETTING THE KEYPAD ADDRESS
T e keypad can eit er be set for an address of 00-30, or to
t e non-addressable mode (31). T e keypad's default
address is 31.
To c ange t e keypad's address, do t e following:
1. Enter address mode: Power up t e keypad. Wit in 60
seconds of power-up, press and old down t e [1] and [3]
keys at t e same time for 3 seconds. (If unable to enter
address mode, power up and try again.)
T e current keypad address will be displayed, and t e
cursor will be under t e "tens" digit. If 10 seconds ave
passed wit no key entry, t e keypad automatically exits
address mode. You must power down, power up and
start address mode again.
NOTE

NOTE: T e keypad will not enter address mode if t e
panel to w ic it is connected is in programming mode.
2. Set t e current address to "00": Press [0] to clear t e
current "tens" digit. T e cursor will move to t e "ones"
digit position. Press [0] to clear t e current "ones" digit.
T e cursor will move back to t e "tens" digit position.
3. Enter t e keypad's address: Enter t e proper "tens" digit
of t e keypad's address. T e cursor will move to t e
"ones" digit position. Enter t e proper "ones" digit of t e
keypad's address. Note t at address "31" sets t e
keypad to non-addressable mode.
4. Exit address mode:
Press [] to save t e displayed address and exit address
mode.
VIEWING THE KEYPAD ADDRESS
Press and old down t e [1] and [3] keys at t e same time
for about 3 seconds. T e current address is displayed. No
key entry is allowed. Press any key to exit or wait 10
seconds to exit viewing mode.
FUNCTION KEY LABELS
A set of ad esive-backed labels wit some typical function
symbols (i.e., fire, police, personal emergency, etc.) is
provided. T ese labels can be placed on or next to t e keys
to identify eac key's function for t e end user (as
determined by t e control panel's capability and
programming; see t e control's instructions).
