Microstrip to Sparkplug Connectors:

Drill a 5 mm deep pilot hole using a 1.6 mm (.06 in.)
drill bit. Using the step drill W230 ream mounting hole
according to ML75 (if sliding contacts are used, please
refer to figure MI-76). Tape a 250-36 thread as shown.
Cleanwithsolvent.
Note: The concentricity of the 1.67, 1.98 and 5.66 holes
to the 0.71 (0.89) hole is critical, and must be within 
0,04 mm (.002 in.).
Ein 5 mm tiefes Loch mit 1,6 mm vorbohren. Mit Stufen -
bohrer W230 aufbohren gemäss ML75.(Bei Verwendung
von Zwischenkontakten jedoch gemäss ML76).
Gewinde 1/4 36 UNS 2B mit W229 schneiden. Mit
Lösungsmittel reinigen.
Bemerkung: Die Konzentrizität der Bohrungen 1,67,1,98
und 5,66 gegenüber der Bohrung mit 0,71 (0,89) ist
kritisch und sollte innerhalb
 0,04 mm sein.

Clean hermetic seal (A) in solvent.
Apply flux to the outer conductor of the hermetic seal. Care
should be taken to avoid getting flux on the centre pin.
Insert seal into the mounting hole with the short pin end
towards the mounting hole such that the pin extends
through the panel. Thread the panel mount soldering fixture
W226 fingertight into the mounting hole, then back off a
1/2 turn.
Insert a length of solder into the soldering access hole and
cut it flush with the top of the hole.
Place the device on the hot plate and leave for approxima-
tely 15 seconds after the solder melts.
Remove the device from the hot plate and allow it to cool.
Solder the centre conductor of the glass seal to the micro-
strip. Unscrew soldering fixture and clean soldered area
with solvent.
CAUTION: Avoid cleaning fluids containing halogenated
and aromatic hydrocarbons (such as Freon). These com-
pounds may soften or dissolve the PPO bead material in the
centre pin support bead.
Glasdurchführung (A) in Lösungsmittel reinigen. Flussmittel
am Aussendurchmesser der Glasdurchführung auftragen.
Man sollte darauf achten, dass kein Flussmittel auf den
Innenleiter gelangt.
Glasdurchführung so in die Montagebohrung einführen,
dass die kürzere Seite des Innenleiterstiftes durch das
Montageblech 1, herausragt.
Die Haltevorrichtung W226 von Hand in das Montage
blech einschrauben und dann eine halbe Umdrehung zu
-
rückdrehen. Lötdraht in die Lötzufuhrbohrung einführen und
bündig mit der Oberseite der Bohrung abschneiden.
Chassis auf der Wärmeplatte aufheizen und nachdem das
Lot geschmolzen ist, für ca. 15 Sek. belassen.
Danach Chassis abkühlen lassen.
Innenleiter der Glasdurchführung an die Mikroschaltung
löten. Haltevorrichtung wegschrauben und gelöteten
Bereich mit Lösungsmittel reinigen.
ACHTUNG: Halogene und aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe
sind zu vermeiden (z.B. Freon). Diese Mittel könnten den
Werkstoff (PPO) der Stützscheibe erweichen oder auflösen.

Apply a small amount of LOCTITE to the thread of the
outer conductor assembly (C).
Thread the connector into the panel mounting hole as
shown, being sure that the hermetic seal pin enters the cen-
tre contact of the connector. See figure.
Torque connector to 200 N cm, using W80 torque wrench.
The connector is now properly installed.
Montage des Verbinders im Chassis:
1) Positiver Verbinder:
Auf dem Gewinde des Verbindergehäuses (C) wird ein
wenig LOCTITE , angebracht.
Der Verbinder wird vorsichtig in das Montageblech einge
-
schraubt, so dass der Glasdurchführungsstift durch die
Buchse der Baugruppe (B) aufgenommen wird (siehe Fig.).
Mit Drehmomentschlüssel W80 festziehen (200 Ncm.)

Thread the connector into the panel mounting hole as

tre contact of the connector. See Figure.
Torque connector to 200 N cm.
A recommended method using the installation fixture W75
follows:
1) Screw the fixture W75 onto the outer conductor until
fingertight.
2) Torque the outer conductor (C) using the torque wrench
W80 (Hex 7.1 mm).
3) Remove the installation fixture from the outer conductor
by holding the fixture with the 13 mm wrench and simulta-
neously loosening it with the torque wrench.
2) Negativer Verbinder:
Auf dem Gewinde des Verbindergehäuses (C) wird ein
wenig LOCTITE angebracht.
Der Verbinder wird vorsichtig in das Montageblech einge
-
schraubt, so dass der Glasdurchführungsstift durch die
Buchse der Baugruppe (B) aufgenommen wird (siehe Fig.).
Verbinder festziehen (200 Ncm).
Folgende Methode, unter Verwendung des Montagewerk
-
zeugs W75, wird empfohlen:
1) Werkzeug W75 auf Verbindergehäuse (C) schrauben.
2) Mit Drehmomentschlüssel W80 bei der Schlüsselweite
7,1 des W75 festziehen.
3) Werkzeug W75 an der Schlüsselweite 7,1 lösen, wäh
-
rend mit Gabelschlüssel 13 mm gegengehalten wird.

Step drill W235 is recommended. However, if the W230
drill is used, the small hole must be rebored to the 0.89 mm
(.039 in.) dimension.
Soldering instructions for the sliding contacts are described
in the instruction sheet No. 9183 provided with the con-
tacts.
The concentricity of the 1.67, 1.98 and 5.66 holes to the
0.71 (0.89) hole is critical, and must be within 0.04 mm
(.002 in.).
Stufenbohrer W235 wird empfohlen.
Wird jedoch der Bohrer W230 verwendet, so muss die
kleinste Bohrung auf 0,89 aufgebohrt werden.
Für Hinweise bezüglich Löten der Zwischenkontakte wird
auf die Montageanleitung Nr. 9183 verwiesen, welche
den Kontakten beigelegt ist.
