Before you use this product for the first time, read this manual at least up to the chapter
"Operation". If you would like to carry out maintenance or troubleshooting, you can find
the procedure in the respective chapters.
The use and the handling of the product as well as its use are not self-explanatory and
are described in detail in this manual.
This manual will help you to use the product as intended, properly, effectively, and
safely. Please refer to it every time you require specific details or actions.

purposes. Therefore, representations and functional options can deviate from the
delivered product.

The product is designed as safe. In spite of that, there is danger in some actions that
can only be avoided by using the right procedures.
These correct procedures and points, which must be followed, are described in this
manual.
2.1 Target group / Required personnel qualification

The existing instruction is intended for owners, project engineers, transport personnel,
start-up engineers, machine operators, service and maintenance personnel.
The instructions explain the proper handling of the product to the abovementioned
target group. These instructions provide the target group with an overview of transpor-
tation and storage, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance work as well as
troubleshooting on the product.
An owner is the person who operates the product himself/herself for commercial or
economic purposes or provides it to a third party for use / application and bears the
legal product responsibility to protect the user, the personnel or the third party.
The obligations of the owner are:
● To know and apply the applicable health and safety regulations
● To determine the hazards arising at the operating site in the risk assessment
● To create a user manual for the operation
● To regularly check if the user manual is consistent with the current rules
● *To clearly lay down and define the responsibilities for the installation, operation,
troubleshooting, maintenance and cleaning
● To ensure that all the employees have read and understood the instructions
● To train the personnel at regular intervals and to inform them of the hazards

The following residual risks can occur in the various life phases of the product:

product at the main switch.
2.8 Fire-fighting / Extinguishing a fire

Use a powder extinguisher that corresponds to the fire class B EN2 to extinguish any
fires / to fight fires.
Maintain a minimum safe distance from electrical components. For a mains voltage of
up to 1000V, the minimum safe distance is 1m.

The MFU MobileFiltrationUnit is used as a portable filter unit for filling or emptying
hydraulic systems, flushing small hydraulic systems as well as for cleaning in bypass
flow. Solid particle contamination as well as free water can be removed by the
respective filter element.
Fields of application
● Filtered or unfiltered filling or draining of hydraulic systems, containers etc.
● Filtered or unfiltered refilling / draining of hydraulic systems, containers etc.
● Temporary offline filtration of hydraulic systems, containers etc.

for ConditionMonitoring
The concept of Condition Monitoring (English
condition monitoring) is based on a regular or
continuous condition monitoring by measuring oil
cleanliness.
This filter unit has a ContaminationSensor CS1000
including integrated air release line. This means
that the filter unit is suitable for continuous moni-
toring of particle contamination in the fluid. The
version of the cleanliness classes can be selected
in accordance with ISO, SAE or NAS. The supply
voltage of the ContaminationSensor is available
after switching on the filter unit.

The MFU filter unit is used as a portable filter unit for filling or emptying hydraulic
systems, flushing or filtering hydraulic systems in the bypass flow, and recirculation with
simultaneous / without simultaneous filtration.
Filtration and monitoring of fluids are key to the service life of fluids and so, to the asso-
ciated increase in service life of machines and systems.
Intended use also extends to the following:
● Use the filter unit only in conjunction with permissible operating media and only
under permissible operating conditions, see ▶Sec.3.4 "Technical data".
● Follow all the instructions contained in the operating instruction.
● Performing inspection and maintenance work.
● Use only original spare parts.

3.3 Improper use or use deviating from intended use

Any other or extending use beyond this shall not be considered intended use.
HYDACFILTERSYSTEMSGMBH will assume no liability for any damage resulting
from such use. This risk is borne solely by the owner.
Improper use can result in hazards and/or the filter unit can be damaged. Examples of
improper use are, for example:
● Operation in potentially explosive atmospheres.
● Operation under non-approved operational conditions.
● Operation with defective protective devices.
● Modifications to the filter unit made by the user or purchaser.
● Inadequate monitoring of parts that are subject to wear and tear.
● Improperly performed repair work.
● Operation with impermissible media / fluids such as:
water, acids, solvents, aggressive fluids, oil sludge or sediment.
