1.1 Purpose of the document

The document contains the original instructions for the jGun pneumatic socket wrench, to which is referred with the term
‘tool’. The term ‘equipment’ is used as a more general term to refer to the entire system: the tool, its parts and its acces-
sories, including the FRL

2. Veiligheid
2.1 Algemene veiligheidsinstructies
2.1.1 Werknemers
• Sta niet toe dat niet hiervoor gekwalificeerde werknemers werkzaamheden aan of met de uitrusting uitvoeren.
• Houd niet-gekwalificeerde werknemers, kinderen en dieren uit de buurt van de uitrusting.
• Draag persoonlijke beschermingsmiddelen (PBM), zoals veiligheidshelm, veiligheidsbril, gehoorbescherming,
veiligheidshandschoenen, veiligheidsschoenen en overall.
• Houd loszittende kleding, lang haar en sieraden uit de buurt van bewegende delen.
• Blijf alert. Gebruik uw gezonde verstand. Werk niet met de uitrusting terwijl u onder invloed van geestverruimende
middelen bent.
• Zorg altijd dat u stevig staat.
• Houd het gereedschap niet vast terwijl het in werking is.
• Houd uw handen uit de buurt van de los of vast te draaien moer of bout.
• Ga niet in het bewegingspad van het gereedschap staan terwijl dit in bedrijf is. Een van de moer of de bout losge-
raakt gereedschap zal in die richting wegschieten.
• Bedenk dat een bevestigingsmiddel dat tijdens bedrijf afbreekt in een projectiel met een hoge snelheid verandert.
• Zorg dat het gereedschap en de pompunit door dezelfde bediener worden bediend. Zorg dat als het gereedschap
en de pompunit niet door dezelfde bediener kunnen worden bediend de bedieners goed met elkaar communice-
ren.
• Volg de lokale arbeids- en veiligheidswetten en milieuvoorschriften op.
2.1.2 Werkgebied
• Zorg dat het werkgebied schoon en goed verlicht is.
• Houd het werkgebied vrij van ongewenste obstakels. Zorg voor vrije doorgangen in het werkgebied tijdens de
werkzaamheden.
2.1.3 Uitrusting
• Gebruik uitsluitend door HYTORC goedgekeurde uitrusting.
• Gebruikt uitsluitend uitrusting die geschikt is voor en kan worden gecombineerd met de uitrusting van HYTORC.
• Pas de uitrusting op geen enkele wijze aan.
• Gebruik gereedschappen uitsluitend voor de doeleinden waarvoor ze zijn ontworpen. Gebruik geen kleinere
gereedschappen of accessoires voor taken die met een groter gereedschap moeten worden uitgevoerd. HYTORC
kan accessoires op maat ontwikkelen om veilige en eenvoudige bediening te verzekeren. Neem voor meer infor-
matie contact op met de lokale vertegenwoordiger van HYTORC.
• Inspecteer voor ieder gebruik de uitrusting op zichtbare beschadigingen. Volg de onderhoudsinstructies betreffen-
de de uitrusting op.
• Verwijder de veiligheidsvoorzieningen op de uitrusting niet en schakel deze ook niet uit.
• Controleer of de afdekplaten niet zijn beschadigd en correct zijn geplaatst. Alle HYTORC gereedschappen zijn
voorzien van afdekplaten die de bewegende delen afdekken. Neem in geval van ontbrekende of beschadigde
afdekplaten contact op met de lokale vertegenwoordiger van HYTORC voor reparatie.
• In de meeste gevallen kan het gereedschap handsfree worden bediend. Gebruik als het gereedschap tijdens
bedrijf moet worden vastgehouden of gestabiliseerd alternatieve middelen om het gereedschap aan het werkstuk
te bevestigen.
• Oefen niet meer dan de toegestane maximumdruk op de uitrusting uit.
• Sla niet met zware objecten (zoals een hamer) op de reactiearmen of moerdoppen. Gebruik als de moer of bout
niet met het door u gebruikte gereedschap draait een gereedschap van een grotere maat
• Snij of las reactiearmen of moerdoppen niet en pas ze op geen enkele andere wijze aan.
• Stel reactiearmen of moerdoppen niet bloot aan extreem hoge of lage temperaturen.

• Laat gereedschappen met reactiearmen en moerdoppen niet hangend aan de moer of de bout achter.
• Gebruik geen pompunits, hydraulische slangen, slangaansluitingen met slangkoppelingen, stroomkabels of af-
standsbedieningskabels om de uitrusting te dragen of te verplaatsen. Houd tijdens het dragen of verplaatsen van
de uitrusting de pompunit of het gereedschap altijd vast.
• Berg gereedschappen en accessoires die niet worden gebruikt op de juiste manier op.
2.2 Aanvullende veiligheidsinstructies
2.2.1 Elektrische en pneumatische pompunits
• Gebruik uitsluitend pompunits van HYTORC.
• Pas de pomp op geen enkele wijze aan.
• Gebruik geen elektrische pomp in mogelijk instabiele omgevingen. Gebruik in geval van twijfel een pneumatische
pompunit. Bij contact tussen metalen delen kunnen vonken ontstaan. Neem de juiste extra maatregelen.
• Draag gehoorbescherming. De geluidsemissie van HYTORC pompunits is minder dan 80 dB.
• Zorg dat de maximumbedrijfsdruk van de pompunit de maximum toegestane druk van 700 bar (10.000 psi) niet
overschrijdt.
• Zorg dat de pomp correct is geaard.
• Controleer of de pompunit met de (bijgeleverde) hydraulische olie (Shell Tellus S2 V32) is gevuld.
• Controleer of het oliepeil tussen de minimummarkering en de maximummarkering staat. Controleer het oliepeil via
het oliepeilkijkglas.
• Gebruik voor het bijvullen van de olietank uitsluitend hoogwaardige hydraulische olie (ISO VG 32 of ISO VG 46
in extremere situaties).
• Meng geen hydraulische oliesoorten van verschillende kwaliteiten.
• Controleer of de olievuldop op het olievulpunt is geplaatst.
2.2.2 Elektrische pompunits
• Zorg dat de netspanning met de nominale spanning van de pompunit overeenkomt.
• Bij 230V pompunits moet de netspanning tussen 200V en 230V liggen.
• Bij 400V pompunits moet de netspanning tussen 380V en 460V liggen.
• Bij gebruik van een verlengkabel:
• Gebruik geen langere verlengkabel dan nodig.
• Zorg dat de verlengkabel niet langer is dan 50 meter.
• Zorg dat de doorsnede van de draden in de verlengkabel minimaal 2,5 mm2 bedraagt.
• Wikkel de verlengkabel volledig van de haspel af.
• Zorg dat geen overspanning of onderspanning ontstaat. Gebruik geen te dunne of te lange verlengkabel.
• Controleer bij gebruik van een 400V pompunit of de draairichting correct is. Als de LED-indicator rood wordt, is
de draairichting niet correct. Draai de polariteit van de faseomkeerstekker om.
2.2.3 Hydraulische slangen
• Gebruik uitsluitend hydraulische slangen van HYTORC.
• Pas de hydraulische slangen op geen enkele wijze aan.
• Controleer of de hydraulische slangen stevig zijn aangesloten.
• Controleer of de hydraulische slangen niet zijn geknikt of gedraaid.
• Houd de hydraulische slangen uit de buurt van het reactiepunt.
• Vervang beschadigde hydraulische slangen onmiddellijk. Vervang de hydraulische slangen minimaal iedere drie
jaar.

2.2.4 Reactiearmen
• Gebruik uitsluitend reactiearmen van HYTORC.
• Pas de reactiearmen op geen enkele wijze aan.
• Plaats de reactiearmen tegen een vast reactiepunt dat bestand is tegen de belasting.
• Plaats uitsluitend de reactiezone tegen het reactiepunt.
• Controleer of het uiteinde van de reactiearm het reactiepunt zowel horizontaal als verticaal minimaal 10 mm
overlapt. Kies als een afstand van minimaal 10 mm niet mogelijk is een ander reactiepunt of gebruik een geschikte
reactiearm.
• Controleer of de reactiearm niet aan het gereedschap is vergrendeld.
• Vermijd overmatige speling. Zet het systeem kortstondig onder druk. Stop als het gereedschap de neiging heeft te
verlopen of scheef te gaan staan onmiddellijk en verplaats de reactiearm naar een stevigere en stabielere positie.
• Plaats de reactiearm niet tegen een rond of hellend reactiepunt.
• Voorkom dat ongeacht welk lichaamsdeel tussen de reactiearm en het reactiepunt komt.
• Plaats geen objecten tussen de reactiearm en het reactiepunt.
• Plaats bij gebruik van een reactiecup deze volledig over het reactiepunt.
• Zorg bij gebruik van een reactiecup met pen dat de pen de onderzijde van de zeskantbout bereikt.
2.2.5 Moerdoppen
• Gebruik uitsluitend moerdoppen van HYTORC.
• Pas de moerdoppen op geen enkele wijze aan.
• Gebruik geen moerdoppen die overmatig zijn verhit of gekoeld.
• Gebruik uitsluitend dikwandige zware moerdoppen. Gebruik geen dunwandige moerdoppen.
• Gebruik uitsluitend extra hoge moerdoppen indien strikt noodzakelijk. De extra hoogte veroorzaakt onnodige
buigkrachten.
• Gebruik geen moerdoppen die op slagmoersleutels worden gebruikt. De slag vervormt het aandrijfgat van de
moerdop en maakt het staal harder en brozer. Hierdoor kan het staal breken en dit verhoogt de kans op rondvlie-
gende objecten.
• Zorg dat de breedte van de vlakke delen van de moerdop met de breedte van de vlakke delen van de moer of de
bout overeenkomen. Let op het verschil tussen metrieke en Engelse maten.
• Plaats het gereedschap met de moerdop op de moer of de bout. Plaats de moerdop zo ver mogelijk over de moer
of de bout.
• Controleer of de moerdop stevig aan het gereedschap vastzit.
• Gebruik geen algemene verlengstukken of verkleinende of vergrotende adapters. HYTORC kan accessoires op
maat ontwikkelen om veilige en eenvoudige bediening te verzekeren. Neem voor meer informatie contact op met
de lokale vertegenwoordiger van HYTORC.

2.3 Veiligheidssymbolen op het gereedschap
Het gereedschap bevat geen waarschuwingslabels. Waarschuwingslabels kunnen uitsluitend worden aangebracht op
plaatsen waar zij onmiddellijk beschadigd zullen raken of onleesbaar worden.
2.4 Gekwalificeerde werknemers
De term ‘gekwalificeerde werknemers’ verwijst naar personen die de uitrusting en de veilige installatie, bediening en
onderhoud hiervan zeer goed kennen. Gekwalificeerde werknemers zijn fysiek in staat de gevraagde taken uit te voe-
ren, ze kennen alle relevante veiligheidsinstructies en voorschriften en ze zijn opgeleid in het veilig installeren, bedienen
en onderhouden van de uitrusting. Het is de verantwoordelijkheid van het bedrijf dat met de uitrusting werkt om erop
toe te zien dat de werknemers aan deze eisen voldoen.
2.5 Aansprakelijkheid
HYTORC stelt zich niet aansprakelijk voor letsel of schade als gevolg van onbedoeld gebruik van de uitrusting. De
uitrusting is ontworpen en bedoeld voor het in de betreffende documenten beschreven doel. Niet in de relevante
documenten beschreven toepassingen worden als onbedoelde toepassingen beschouwd en kunnen tot letsel of schade
leiden.
Onbedoelde toepassingen zijn onder andere:
• Gebruik van niet door HYTORC goedgekeurde uitrusting
• Gebruikt van uitrusting die niet geschikt is voor en niet kan worden gecombineerd met de uitrusting van HYTORC
• Het op enige manier wijzigen of aanpassen van uitrusting
• Toestaan dat niet hiervoor gekwalificeerde werknemers werkzaamheden aan of met de uitrusting uitvoeren

3.1 Intended use
The Ice hydraulic socket wrench is a tool used for both your torque and tension applications. Different reaction arms
and sockets can be used with the tool. HYTORC hydraulic tools have an accuracy of ± 3%.

3.6 Accessories
3.6.1 Safety handle
Procedure
1. For more convenience and safety, install the safety handle to the
tool or the reaction arm.
3.6.2 BoltSafe load tester
The BoltSafe load tester has a reading system and one or more sensors.
The sensors monitor the bolt load in bolted joints. The sensors are sha-
ped and used as a regular washer. Different BoltSafe read-out systems
are available for continuous and periodic measurement.
Procedure
1. Place the BoltSafe load tester between the nut and mounting surfa-
ce.
3.6.3 Torque and angle sensor
The tool can be extended with a torque and angle sensor for digital
registration of bolting.
Procedure
1. Place the sensor on the tool and

3. Apply pre-torque (A).
4. Apply torque until the angle (B) is reached.

1. Place the adapter in the tool.
2. Use the circlip ring to fasten the adapter.
3. Place the adapter over the nut as far as possible.
3.6.6 Male hex drive
Procedure
1. Place the adapter in the tool.
2. Use the circlip ring to fasten the adapter.
3. Place the hex drive into the nut as far as possible.

4. Installation
4.1 Hydraulic hoses
The working pressure of the hydraulic hoses is up to 700 bar. The safety factor of the hydraulic hoses is factor 4.
4.1.1 Hydraulic hose connections
Use a twin hose to connect the pump unit to the tool. A twin hose consists of two hoses.
The supply hose has two ends with female couplings. The supply hose is connected to the hose connections with male
couplings on the pump unit and the tool. The male coupling on the pump unit is marked with “A”. The male coupling on
the tool is marked with “A”.
The return hose has two ends with male couplings. The return hose is connected to the hose connections with female
couplings on the pump unit and the tool. The female coupling on the pump unit is marked with “B”. The male coupling on
the tool is marked with “R”.
Caution:
Do not modify the hydraulic hoses in any way. If you modify the hydraulic hoses, damage to the equip-
ment can occur.
Note:
An odd number of hoses is required to extend the hydraulic hose. You cannot use an even number of
hoses. “PUMP” refers to the electric pump unit. “TOOL” refers to the tool.

Screw-type safety couplings (Pioneer)
• To tighten the couplings (A), make sure that the system is
depressurized. Push the cou- plings completely together
to full engage- ment, and tighten the locking ring of the fe-
male coupling to the male coupling. If the couplings are
not fully tightened, the tool will not operate.
• To loosen the couplings (B), make sure that the system
is depressurized. Loosen the locking ring of the female
coupling from the male coupling and pull the couplings
apart.
Toothed screw-type safety couplings (HYTORC 716)
The coupling is identical to the screw-type safety couplings
(type Pioneer), but both coupling are toothed. The male
coupling has a toothed locking ring which is axially displacea-
ble. The female coupling also has a toothed ring
• To tighten the couplings (A), make sure that the system is
depressurized. Push the cou- plings together and enga-
ge the teeth of male coupling and the female coupling.
If the cou- plings are not fully tightened, the tool will not
operate.
• To loosen the couplings (B), make sure that the system is
depressurized. Pulll the tooth- ed locking ring axially and
loosen the locking ring.
•
Quick couplings (HYTORC 1008)
• To tighten the couplings (A), make sure that the system is
depressurized. Pull back the pull-back ring on the female
coupling, push the male coupling into the female coupling
and release the pull-back ring. Screw the locking ring on
the female coupling against the pull-back ring.
• To loosen the couplings (B), make sure that the system
is depressurized. Screw the lock- ing ring on the female
coupling from the pull- back ring. Pull back the pull-
back ring to re- move the male coupling from the female
coupling.

4.1.2 Connecting the hydraulic hoses
Warning:
• Make sure that the system is depressurized.
• Make sure that the hydraulic hoses are securely connected to both the pump unit and the tool. Make
sure that there is no clearance between the male couplings and the female couplings. If the hydraulic
hoses become loose, no hydraulic oil will flow through the hoses and the tool will not operate.
1. If the hose couplings are dirty, clean them with a lint-free cloth.
2. Fully tighten the female couplings to the male couplings.
3. Manually tighten the hose couplings. Do not use pliers.
4.1.3 Disconnecting the hydraulic hoses
Warning:
Make sure that the system is depressurized.t.
1. Disconnect the return hose from the pump unit and the tool.
A. Electric pump unit (1): If you cannot disconnect the return
hose, press and hold the stop button (B) and press the
start button (A) on the remote control.
B. Pneumatic pump unit (2): If you cannot disconnect the
return hose, set the on/off switch (A) to the off position
and press the start button (B) on the remote control to
depressurize the hose.
C. If you still cannot disconnect the return hose, there is re-
sidual pressure in the hose. Press the pressure relief valve
(C) on the pump unit to depressurize the hose.
2. Disconnect the supply hose from the pump unit and the tool.
3. Roll up the hydraulic hoses and connect the hose couplings to
prevent them from becoming soiled.

4.2 Power supply (electric pump units)
There are different types of electric pump units to operate the tool:
1. 230V pump unit
2. 400V pump unit
Warning:
• Do not use an extension cable longer than necessary.
• Make sure that the length of the extension cable does not exceed 50 metres.
• Make sure that the cross section of the wires in the extension cable is at least 2.5 mm2.
• Fully unroll the extension cable from the cable drum
4.2.1 Connecting the power supply (230V)
1. Connect the mains plug to the wall socket.
2. Make sure that the cross section of the wires in the extension
cable is at least 2.5 mm2).
4.2.2 Connecting the power supply (400V)
1. Connect the mains plug to the wall socket.
2. If the pump does not start to operate, use a thicker or shorter
extension cable.
3. Make sure that the direction of rotation is correct. If the LED
indicator on the pump unit lights red, the direction of rotation
is incorrect. Reverse the polarity of the phase inverter plug.
A. Place a flat-head screwdriver as shown.
B. Turn the insulated plate 180° to reverse the polarity of
the phase inverter plug.
