Beliebig erweiterbarer CO2-Passiv-Reaktor mit maximaler
Diffusionsrate von CO2 in Wasser.
Der JBL Proora Taifun S ist speziell für kleine Aquarien,
vor allem auch die immer mehr in Mode kommenden Nano-
Aquarien konzipiert. Er eignet sich auch hervorragend zum
Betrieb mit BioCO2-Anlagen.
Die modulare Bauweise des JBL ProFlora Taifun S Reaktors
ermöglicht eine Anpassung des Reaktors und optimale CO2-
Ausnutzung in praktisch jeder Aquariengröße. Die Grundversion
mit 5 Modulen versorgt Aquarien bis 200 l optimal mit CO2. Eine
Erweiterung JBL ProFlora Taifun extend mit fünf Modulen
erhöht die Reichweite um 200 l.
Die besondere Konstruktion der Spiralbahn, auf der die
CO2-Blasen aufsteigen, mit seitlichen Ventilationsschlitzen,
ermöglicht eine komplette Diffusion des CO2 ins umgebende
Wasser, ohne dass eine zusätzliche Wasserpumpe zur
Verwirbelung erforderlich ist.
Die Transparenz des Reaktors ermöglicht eine genaue
Beobachtung der aufsteigenden Blasen, sodass eine optimale
Einstellung der CO2-Menge auch ohne Blasenzähler möglich ist.

Installation
• Spülen Sie zunächst das ganze Gerät mit warmem
Leitungswasser gründlich ab. Verwenden Sie keine
Reinigungsmittel
• Montieren Sie den Reaktor an einer Stelle mit leichter
Wasser-bewegung senkrecht im Aquarium. Die Oberkante
des Gerätes sollte dabei mindestens 2 cm unter der
Wasseroberäche liegen.
• Verbinden Sie den CO2 Schlauch mit der CO2-Quelle: Bei
Bio-CO2-Anlagen (z. B. JBL Proora bio80 und bio160)
mit dem Schlauchanschluss am Reaktionsgefäß, bei
Anlagen mit Druckgasasche am Schlauchanschluss der
Druckregelarmatur.
• Zunächst laufen die Blasen nur stockend von unten nach
oben durch die spiralförmige Blasenbahn. Das Gerät
benötigt eine Einlaufzeit von ca. 48 Stunden. Erst dann
hat sich ein Biolm gebildet, der die Blasen ungestört nach
oben durchlaufen lässt. Auf ihrem Weg nach oben werden
die Blasen kleiner als Zeichen der Diffusion des CO2 in das
umgebende Wasser. Sind die Blasen oben angekommen,
gelangen sie in die Auffangkappe, wo eventuell noch
vorhandene CO2 -Reste vollends diffundieren können.

Hinweis:
Die Auffangkappe wird sich nach einiger Zeit mit Gas füllen,
das dann hin und wieder durch die Entlüftungsöffnung nach
oben entweicht. Dieses Gas ist kein CO2 mehr, sondern sog.
Falschgas, das zum einen in der CO2 Vorratsasche in geringen
Mengen enthalten ist, zum anderen aus dem Umgebungswasser
in die Blasen hinein diffundiert auf deren Weg nach oben.
Der Reaktor sollte möglichst selten gereinigt werden, deshalb
ist eine Anbringung an einer möglichst dunklen Stelle mit
ausreichender Wasserbewegung im Aquarium von Vorteil.
Die Blasenzahl:
Bei BioCO2-Anlagen ist die Blasenzahl durch die Anlage
vorgegeben und kann nicht reguliert werden. Für Anlagen mit
Druckgasaschen gilt:
Der Bedarf an CO2 ist abhängig von Wassermenge,
Karbonathärte, gewünschtem pH-Wert und dem Verbrauch
der Panzen. Beginnen Sie zunächst mit einer Blase in jeder
zweiten Windung des Gerätes und erhöhen die Menge dann
langsam über mehrere Tage nach Bedarf. Als Kontrolle dient
der pH-Wert. Zur Überwachung empfehlen wir das JBL Test
Set Permanent CO2 plus pH
Wartung
Der Reaktor besteht aus klarem Plexiglas, das eine optimale
Beobachtung der Blasen erlaubt. Falls erforderlich kann
eine Reinigung unter reinem Leitungswasser erfolgen. Dazu

lässt sich das Gerät durch einfaches Auseinanderziehen in
senkrechter Richtung in seine Einzelteile zerlegen. Nach
Reinigung einfach wieder zusammenstecken. Die einzelnen
Modulteile besitzen eine Rastung, auf deren korrekten Sitz
zu achten ist, damit eine zusammenhängende Blasenbahn
entsteht.
Erweiterungsmöglichkeit:
Die Blasenbahn ist durch beliebige Anzahl an Erweiterungen
(JBL ProFlora Taifun extend) nach Bedarf verlängerbar.

CO2 diffuser JBL ProFlora Taifun S
Extendable CO2 passive diffuser with maximum diffusion
rate of CO2 in water.
JBL Proora Taifun S is specially designed for small aquariums,
in particular the increasingly popular nano aquariums. It is also
ideally suited for operation with BioCO2 systems.
The modular construction of the JBL ProFlora Taifun S diffuser
allows the diffuser to be adapted to practically any size of
aquarium with optimum CO2 utilization. The basic version with 5
modules provides sufcient CO2 for aquariums up to 200 l. The
JBL ProFlora Taifun extend extension pack with a further ve
modules increases capacity by an additional 200 l.
The special construction of the spiral channel up which the
CO2 bubbles rise, with ventilation slits in the sides, ensures the
complete diffusion of the CO2 into the surrounding water without
the need for an additional water pump to create a current.
Due to the transparency of the diffuser, the bubbles can be
clearly observed as they rise, allowing the optimum amount of
CO2 to be set even without a bubble counter.

Installation
• First thoroughly rinse the diffuser in lukewarm water. Do not
use detergents.
• Fit the diffuser vertically in the aquarium in a location with a
slight current of water. The upper edge of the device should
be at least 2 cm under the surface of the water.
• Connect the CO2 hose to the CO2 source: for bio-CO2 systems
(e.g. JBL Proora bio80 und bio160) to the hose connection
on the diffuser unit, for systems with a pressurised gas cylinder,
to the hose connection of the pressure regulator.
• At rst the bubbles will ow intermittently through the spiral
bubble channel from the bottom to the top. The device
needs approx. 48 hours to run in. After this time a bio-lm
will have formed, allowing the bubbles to rise freely upwards.
As they rise, the bubbles will become smaller as a sign of
the diffusion of the CO2 into the surrounding water. Once the
bubbles are at the top, they reach the collection cap where
any remaining CO2 can diffuse completely.
Note:
After some time the collection cap will ll with gas which now
and again escapes upwards through the ventilation openings.
This gas is not CO2, but “false” gas which is sometimes present
in small quantities in CO2 cylinders or which diffuses into the
bubbles on their way upwards from the surrounding water.

The diffuser should be cleaned as little as possible. Therefore
tting it in a position in the aquarium which is as dark as possible
with adequate water movement is an advantage.
The number of bubbles:
In the case of bio-CO2 systems, the number of bubbles is pre-
set and cannot be regulated. The following applies to systems
with pressurised gas cylinders:
How much CO2 is needed depends on the quantity of water, the
carbonate hardness, the required pH level and the consumption
by plants. Start initially with one bubble in every second bend
in the device and slowly increase the number over the course
of several days, as required. The pH level can be used to
monitor the amount. We recommend using the JBL Test Set
Permanent CO2 plus pH.
Maintenance
The diffuser is made of clear Plexiglas, allowing optimum
observation of the bubbles. If necessary, it can be cleaned
in pure tap water. The device can be dismantled for cleaning
by pulling the individual parts apart vertically. After cleaning,
simply reassemble. The individual module parts click together
to ensure correct tting, giving a continuous bubble channel.
Extension options:
The bubble channel can be extended as required by adding any
number of extensions (JBL ProFlora Taifun extend).

Réacteur CO2 passif extensible à volonté avec un taux de
diffusion maximal du CO2 dans l’eau.
Le réacteur JBL Proora Taifun S a été conçu spécialement
pour les petits aquariums, et en particulier pour les nano-
aquariums qui sont de plus en plus à la mode. Il est également
parfaitement adapté aux installations au bio-CO2.
La conception modulaire du réacteur JBL ProFlora Taifun S
permet de l’adapter à pratiquement toutes les tailles de l’aquarium
en assurant une utilisation optimale du CO2. La version de base
de 5 modules offre une alimentation idéale en CO2 pour un
aquarium de 200 l. L’extension JBL ProFlora Taifun extend
comprend cinq modules supplémentaires, pour un volume d’eau
additionnel de 200 l.
La forme spécique de la spirale sur laquelle montent les
bulles de CO2, avec ses fentes de ventilation latérales, assure
une diffusion complète du CO2 dans l’eau sans qu’une pompe
supplémentaire ne soit nécessaire pour créer un remous.
Le matériau transparent du réacteur permet d’observer avec
précision les bulles qui montent vers la surface. Il est ainsi
possible d’ajuster de manière optimale la quantité de CO2,
même sans compte-bulles.
