OWNER’S MANUAL
MODEL:PU-11W,PU-18W,PU-36W
INTRODUCTION
Jebao UV clarifiers are carefully inspected and tested to ensure both safety and
operating performance.However,failure to follow the instructions and warnings in the
manual may result in clarifier damage and/or serious injury.Be sure to read and save this
manual for furture reference.
The Jebao UV Clarifier is electrically operated and desighed to be used with an exsting
pond filtration system,which normally includes a mechanical add biobogical filter,filter
pump and hose.The unit is designed for outdoor only.
WARNING: This appliance must be earthed and it is essential that all connections are
securely made.
This product is designed to be permanently wired to a mains supply.
A 10mA or 30 mA residual current device(RCD) must be fitted to the mains supply.
The clarifier is supplied complete with 10m of 3-core electrical cable.The supply cable of
this clarifier cannot be replaced;if the cable is damaged,the clarifier should be
discarded.The installation must conform to the regulations of the local electrical
authority.Do not use the supply cable to lift the clarifier as this may cause damage.
If an extension cable is required,this should be connected to the end of the clarfier cable
using a weatherproof cable connector.The joint must be positioned outside the water in a
suitable dry housing.The extension cable should be of 3-core,0.75mm2 PVC insulated
cable(ref H03VVF) and permanently wired to the mains supply with a 3 AMP fuse.The
clarifier cable(and extension cable) should be adequately protected from damage by
armored conduit.
IMPORTANT-SAFETY WARNING
●Always disconnect all appliances from the electrical supply before putting your hands
in the water whilst the equipment is being installed,repaired,maintained or handled.
●The use of gloves and eye protection is recommended when installing or maintaining
the clear glass tube inside the clarifier.
●Do not run the clarifier dry.
●The clarifier unit is weatherproof but not waterproof and must not be submerged in
water.Therefore,position the unit away from the edge of the pond to prevent the clarifier
being accidentally dropped into the water.
●Exposure to Ultra Violet(UV) radiation can cause damage to eyes and skin.Never look
at the lamp whilst switched on.The lamp can be checked when switched on by looking at
the clear hosetail-a blue glow will be visible when the UV lamp is operating.
●To protect from frost the clarifier should be taken indoors during winter months when
algae growth stops.Clean and dry the unit and store in a dry place.
●Young children should always be supervised when near the water.
INSTALLATION
●To prevent algae growth and green water,the Jebao UV Clarifilter should be run for 24
hours a day during the season.When the UV Clarifiler is used in conjunction with a pond
filter and filter pump,pond water should be clear wihtin 2 weeks.

●The clarifier can be positioned before or after the filtration system as the result will be
the same,
●The water must be pumped through the unit and not gravity fed.
●The unit must be installed horizontally on a solid surface by screwing to the surface
through the 4 holes on the securing plates.If strong enough the lid of the filter is an ideal
location.
CONNECTING TO THE WATER SUPPLY
●The Jebao UV Clarifilter is fitted with universal hosetails to take 3/4”,1” 5/4” and 3/2”
diameter flexible hose,When using the larger diameter hosetails.trim off the smaller
sections so as not to impede the water flow.Secure the hose to the hosetails using
suitable hose clips.Hose lengths should be kept to a minimum length to avoid loss of
flow.
●Connect the hosetails to the unit using the threaded connectors provided.
CHANGE THE UV LAMP
●The UV lamp should be changed at the beginning of a new season.The lamp may
look like it is still working but over time the amount of UV deminishes reducing the
effectiveness of the unit.
●Unscrew the wired end cap anti-clockwise.See figure 1 below.
●Remove the UV glass tube by gently pulling out of the electrical connection.See figure
2 below.
●Insert a new glass tube by pushing gently into the eletrical connection.
●Re-assemble the end cap of rotating clockwise.

LIMITED WARRANTY
This product is guaranteed for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase for material
or manufacturing defects.The guarantee covers the substitution of defective
parts.However,the guaranteeis considered void in the case of improper use,improper
handling or negligence on the part of the buyer.If your clarifier fails plaese return it to the
retail outlet where your purchased the product.Please note,you must take your proof of
purchase with you.
DISPOSAL INFORMATION
●This symbol means the product must no be discarded with the general household
waste.There is a separate collection system for these products.
●Should you want to dispose of this item please do not put it with the household
waste.Used elctrical ad electronic equipment and batteries must be made available for
separate collection.
●Electrical products may contain toxic materials such as lead or cadmium.As a single
item this may pose little threat to the environment.
●Separate collection also allows materials to be recovered and recycled.The earth’s
natural resources are limited.Recyling materials helps reduce the demand on our natural
resources.
●Private households may return their used electrical and electronic equipment to
designated collection facilities free of charge,Identify where your local collection points
are and return the product there,(Facilities are usually available at the council waste
site,your elctrical retailer,or your local authority may provide separete collection from the
household.)
