SAFETY ADVICE
When carrying out repairs to the underneath of
a vehicle, always make sure the vehicle is
supported on ramps or axle stands of the
correct load capacity before proceeding.
DESCRIPTION
This tool has been designed to enable the user
to remove/install rear sub-frame bushes in-situ
on Ford Mondeo (2001, Oct 2000 onwards).
Made from hardened steel, if used in the
correct manner it should give many years of
service.

OPERATION:
1. Support the vehicle as detailed in your vehicle
handbook and remove the real wheels.
2. Although there is no need to remove the
sub-frame from the vehicle it will be
necessary to lower it to give access to both
sides of the bush housing.
3. Lower the sub-frame by removing the four
retaining bolts taking care not to damage
the brake hoses. For a detailed breakdown
of this procedure refer to the manufacturer’s
service instruction’s or manual.
4. To remove the old bush, assemble the tool
onto the bush and sub-frame as sown in
Fig.2. Ensure that the force screw (6) is well
lubricated prior to assembly. Hold the flange
nut (1) with a 24mm ring spanner. Using a
ratchet wrench with a 24mm deep socket
turn the nut on the force nut assembly (5)
clockwise to drive the bush out of its
housing. Do not use an impact wrench!
5. The new bush will be inserted using a
bonding adhesive so you must thoroughly
clean the bush housing and surrounding
area using a degreasant and make sure it is
completely dry before applying the bonding
adhesive as per your instruction manual.
6. To insert the new bush, assemble the tool
as shown in Fig.3. Lubricate the threaded
rod (6) prior to assembly. Hold the flange
nut (1) with a 24mm ring spanner. Use a
ratchet wrench with a 24mm deep socket to
turn the nut on the force nut assembly (5)
clockwise to drive the bush into the housing.
7. Re-mount the subframe and check it’s
alignment according to your instruction
manual. The bonding adhesive must be
allowed to cure for 24 hours before the
vehicle can be driven.
