being installed.

Before You Begin
¨Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
¨Prior to installation, unpack the new product and inspect it for damage.
Return the product to its protective carton until you are ready to install it.
¨Use the template supplied with the product.
¨Failure to follow these precautions may result in a poor installation.
¨If the existing toilet does not have a supply shut-off valve below the tank,
install one before installing the new toilet.
¨Do not use white cement or high lime content cements to install this toilet.
The expansion of cement due to a rise in temperature may make the toilet
crack or cause damage. Kohler is not responsible for any damage caused
by installation with the use of cement.
¨Fixture dimensions are nominal and conform to tolerances established by
Standards ASME A112.19.2/CSA B45.1, TIS 792
CAUTION: Risk of personal injury or product damage. Handle with
care. Product can break, chip, or cause injury if handled carelessly.
CAUTION: Risk of property or product damage. Turn on the water
and allow water to ow through the supply pipe to ush the system of
any debris before connecting ll valve.
CAUTION: Risk of hazardous gases. If the new toilet is not installed
immediately, temporarily place a rag in the closet ange.

1/2” Supply
Verify inlet and outlet position. Position the template on the oor to
ensure the template against the wall.
Tape in place.
Drill 2 floor mounting holes and
3 flange holes. Insert anchors.
Draw centerline
on the floor.

Position the brackets as shown on
the template and install the bracket.

Plastic Trap Outlet
Install the wax ring and trap outlet on the
floor. Tighten with screws.

Wax Ring
Turn the tank upside down and place the gasket to the tank. Install the tank onto
the bowl.
CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Overtightening may cause breakage or
chipping of the vitreous china.
☐Assemble the washers and nuts to the tank bolt. Tighten the nuts so the tank is level.
☐Be sure the nuts are tight enough to achieve a watertight seal.

Installation /
Thread the supply hose onto the ll valve shank. Slide nut of inlet cover onto the supply
hose, with flared end last and run hose through toilet wall.
Take hose guide apart and slide onto the supply hose, with the flared end last. Slide the
two inserts into the flared end of the hose guide. Insert into toilet wall and tighten nut.

Carefully align and lower the bowl. Apply weight to the bowl rim to let the outlet insert
into plastic trap. Carefully thread the screws into the brackets, until toilet is secure.
Alternately tighten left and right sides to prevent pulling the toilet off center. Install cap
to cover screw.
Connect the supply hose to shut-off valve.
Apply silicone around base.

FITTINGS AND RELATIVE POSITION IN TANK
Cautuion:
Restore the moved or removed parts according to the positions and directions as
shown.
Pay attention to the position and angle of the oat canister to avoid interfere with the
steel wire on the box.

IMPORTANT: Before turning on the supply valve for the rst time, follow the steps below
to clear sand, debris and rust from the system.
Make sure water supply is off. Remove valve END by rotating it 1/8 turn counterclockwise.
While holding a container over the uncapped VALVE to prevent splashing, turn water
supply on and off a few times. Leave water supply off.
Replace END by engaging lugs and rotating 1/8 turn clockwise. Make certain the top
is turned to the locked position. Valve may not turn on if top is not fully in the
locked position.
Turn on water supply. Check that water level is at the marked water line.
Install the toilet seat according to the seat manufacture’s installation instruction.
Attach the tank cover.

Care and Cleaning
For best results, keep the following in mind when caring for your product:
• Carefully read the cleaner product label to ensure the cleaner is safe for use
on the material.
• Always test your cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area before applying
to the entire surface.
• Wipe surfaces clean and rinse completely with water immediately after
cleaner application. Rinse and dry any overspray that lands on nearby
surfaces.
• Do not allow cleaners to sit or soak on the surface.
• Use a soft, dampened sponge or cloth. Never use an abrasive material such as
a brush or scouring pad to clean surfaces.
• Be careful not to leave staining materials in contact with the surface for
extended periods of time.
• The ideal cleaning technique is to rinse thoroughly and blot dry any water
from the surface after each use.
WARNING: Risk of property or product damage. Do not use in-tank
cleaners in your toilet. Products containing chlorine (calcium hypochlorite)
can seriously damage ttings in the tank. This damage can cause leakage
and property damage.

Troubleshooting Guide
Symptoms Recommended Action
1. Poor flush. A. Adjust the tank water level to match the waterline.
B. Fully open the water supply shut-off valve.
C. Clear obstructions from the trapway, jet, or bowl rim
holes.
D. Clear obstructions from the waste line.
2. No flush. A. Make sure the push button rods are in place. Adjust
as needed.
3. The ll valve
turns on/off by
itself or it runs,
allowing water to
enter the tank.
A. Check the position of flush valve cable, flush valve
cable must not overlap the valve float sinks.
B. Check the position of flush valve cable, flush valve
cable must not obstructive the phase of overflow
tube.
C. Clean or replace the flush valve seal if it is worn,
dirty, or misaligned with the valve seat or flush valve
seat is damaged.
D. Clean the ll valve seal of debris or replace the
seal assembly.
E. Replace the ll valve if the valve float sinks.
F. Adjust the tank water level if it is too high.
4. Long tank ll
cycle.
A. Fully open the water supply shut-off valve.
B. Clean the valve inlet, valve head, or supply line.
Flush the lines.
C. Clean the valve inlet, valve head, or supply line.
Flush lines.
5. Noisy tank ll
cycle.
A. Partially close the water supply shut-off valve if the
water pressure to the toilet is too high. Check the
toilet performance following any such adjustment.
B. Remove dirt or obstructions from the valve head.
Flush the lines.
