Paper size
The following explains the indication for originals and paper de-
scribed in this manual.
When indicating the original or paper size, the Y side represents the
width and the X side the length.
Paper indication
windicates the paper size with the length (X) being longer than the
width (Y).
vindicates the paper size with the length (X) being shorter than the
width (Y).
Tabbed paper
The marks for tabbed paper are and for both original and paper on the touch panel, while indi-
cated by T v, and T win this manual.

When Paper Feeder Unit PF-703/FP-706 is installed,
open the tray left side door first for removal operation.
6Tray 1 Holds 1,500 sheets (22 lb Bond) of standard, custom,
wide paper, or tab paper sizes. The optional postcard
adapter is required to load postcards. Contact your
service representative, if desired. Load paper of the
weight from 11 to 80 lb Bond. For Emboseed2 paper
type, load paper of the weight from 21 to 57 lb Bond.
Any paper type that can be specified on this machine,
excluding preprinted paper, can be loaded.

DO NOT THROW the used waste toner box into a fire!
-If the waste toner box is thrown into a fire, the toner may ignite and cause a dangerous situation.
7 CAUTION
DO NOT put your hand on the fusing unit.
-Otherwise, you may get burned. Be especially careful when the conveyance fusing unit is pulled out.

DO NOT put your hand or arm between the main body and conveyance fusing unit.
-Connecting terminals of electric parts are located on the rear side of the conveyance fusing unit, and
touching them may damage the machine. Also, putting your hand or arm between the main body and
conveyance fusing unit may cause unexpected accidents. Please do not try to work yourself, but con-
tact your service representative.

2Total counter Indicates the total number of prints made.
3Knob [M2] Opens leftward to allow removal of mishandled paper.
4Conveyance fusing unit Pulled out for removal of mishandled paper. For han-
dling levers and knobs of the conveyance fusing
unit, follow the instruction on the screen to be dis-
played when paper misfeed occurs.
5Lever [M4] Opens rightward to allow withdrawal of the convey-
ance fusing unit for removal of mishandled paper.
6Drum unit Forms the image.
7Fusing unit Fuses toner onto paper.
8Side guides Aligned to the edges of loaded paper.
9Feed roller Feeds paper sheet by sheet to the printing unit.
10 Lock release lever Pushed backward to release the lock in order to move
side guides.
11 Air nozzle Blows air to slightly float the paper to prevent double
feed.
12 Rear guide Aligned to the rear edge of loaded paper.
13 Toner bottle Supplies the main body with toner.
14 Toner unit lever Pulled to withdraw the toner unit to replace the toner
bottle.
15 Waste toner box Collects waste toner.
16 Lock lever Opens leftward while pushing the waste toner box to
release the lock for replacement of the waste toner
box.

turned on, then turns green when the sub power
switch is turned on.

5Interrupt Stops copying/printing/scanning in progress to allow
another copying job of settings newly specified.
6Stop Suspends the current output job or stops the machine
operation.
7Proof Copy Used to print a single set or the first page to verify the
copy settings.
8Start Activates various machine operations.
9Start LED Lights up in blue when the machine is ready to oper-
ate.
It turns orange when any operation cannot be started.
10 C (Clear) Allows change in entered numeric value.
11 Access Used to enter a user/account password to gain us-
er/account authentication. Also sets the machine to
allow the operation only when the next user is authen-
ticated, if user authentication or account track func-
tion is activated and an authenticated user has used
the machine.
