Setting the Modbus Address
The following settings are used to set the Modbus Address so the communications card can communicate
with the controller card:
♦Modbus Address
Press the D WN Arrow button until the address is set to ALL. The ALL setting sets the controller card up
so it will accept commands from the communications card. It also activates the following calibration
settings which will allow you to tailor the communications card to your specific SCADA requirements.
When the modbus address is not set to ALL the controller card may not be able to communicate with the
communications card.
To advance to the next setting you must press the M DE Button.
Setting the Scada Protocol
The communications card is equipped with 4 methods of communicating, DNP 3.0, Modbus ASCII,
Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP.
The following setting is used to set the Scada Protocol:
♦Scada Protocol
Using the UP and D WN Arrow buttons select the Protocol you wish to use.
To advance to the next setting you must press the M DE Button.
Setting the Scada Node Address
The following settings are used to set the Node Address:
♦Scada Node Address
The LCD display will show “Node Address” on the first line and the actual node address on the second
line. The number flashing is the digit of the node address you may adjust by using either the UP or
D WN Arrow Buttons. Each digit is set individually. Pressing the M DE button will cause the next digit
to flash. After all 5 digits have been flashed the cal sequence will advance to the next setting.
For example: You would like to change the Node Address from the default setting of 00004 to 12310.
When the LCD display shows “Node Address” and the ‘”0” is flashing press the UP Arrow Button until the
flashing digit becomes “1”. Then press the M DE Button.
When the LCD display shows “Node Address” and the ‘”0” is flashing press the UP Arrow Button until the
flashing digit becomes “2”. Then press the M DE Button.
When the LCD display shows “Node Address” and the ‘”0” is flashing press the UP Arrow Button until the
flashing digit becomes “3”. Then press the M DE Button.
When the LCD display shows “Node Address” and the ‘”0” is flashing press the UP Arrow Button until the
flashing digit becomes “1”. Then press the M DE Button.
When the LCD display shows “Node Address” and the ‘”4” is flashing press the D WN Arrow Button until
the flashing digit becomes “0”. Then press the M DE Button.
The Node Address is now set to 12310.
