ON PLACEMENT
• Do not use the unit in places which are extremely hot, cold, dusty, or humid.

 placingitonacarpet.
ON SAFETY
• WhenconnectinganddisconnectingtheACcord,griptheplugandnotthecorditself.Pullingthecordmay

• Whenyouarenotgoingtousetheunitforalongperiodoftime,disconnecttheACpowercord.
ON AC VOLTAGE
• Beforeuse,checkthattheratedvoltageofyourunitmatchesyourlocalvoltage.
ON CONDENSATION
• When left in a heated room where it is warm and damp, water droplets or condensation may form inside the
CD player.
• When there is condensation inside the unit, the unit may not function normally.
• Letitstandfor1to2hoursbeforeturningthepoweron,orgraduallyheattheroomupanddrytheunitbeforeuse.
• Ensureaminimumdistanceof5cmaroundtheapparatusforsufcientventilation.
• Ensurethattheventilationisnotimpededbycoveringtheventilationopeningswithitems,suchasnewspapers,
table-cloths, curtains, etc..
• Donotplacenakedamesources,suchaslightedcandlesontheapparatus.
• Take attention to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
• Use the apparatus only in moderate climates (not in tropical climates).
• Donotexposetheapparatustodrippingorsplashing.
• Donotplaceobjectslledwithliquids,suchasvases,ontheapparatus.
Should any trouble occur, disconnect the AC power cord and refer servicing to qualied personnel.

POWER SUPPLY
USING HOUSE CURRENT
Beforeuse,checkthattheratedvoltage
ofyourunitmatchesyourlocalvoltage.
USING BATTERIES
Disconnect the AC power cord from the AC inlet of the
unit. Battery power is cut automatically by the cord while
it is connected.
Insert6UM-2(sizeC)batteries.

When the volume decrease, or the sound distorts, replace
all of the batteries with new ones.
ADJUSTING THE SOUND
TO ADJUST THE VOLUME
FOR PRIVATE LISTENING
Plug in headphones (ø3.5 mm stereo mini-plug) to the
PHONES jack.
Whenheadphonesarepluggedin,thespeakersare
automatically disconnected.

FOR BETTER RECEPTION
FM
TO STOP PLAYBACK
Press the STOP button and the display shows the total
tracks of the disk
COMPACT DISC PLAYBACK
1 . Set to CD. 2. Open the CD door by pushing Open / Close CD
area.

3. Insertadiscwiththelabelsidefacingup.
4 . Close the CD door.
The disc will rotate and the total tracks of the disc
will show on the display.
TO SKIP TO THE BEGINNING OF A TRACK
• Presseitheroneoftheskipbuttonsaccordingtothedesiredskipdirection.
• Play/back resumes from the selected track.
• Whenthebuttonispressedonceduringplay,theprevioustrackstartsagain.
• Whenthebuttonispressedonceduringplay,thenexttrackplays.
SEARCHING FOR A PASSAGE WITHIN A TRACK
• Keeptheorbuttonpressedduringplayback,andreleasethebuttonassoonasyou
 recognisethedesiredpassage.ThennormalCDplaybackwillresumefromthispoint.
NOTE : FMstereoLEDindicatorlightswhenreceivingFMstereobroadcastandtheMODEswitchseton"FMST.".
AFTER LISTENING
Set the FUNCTION switch to OFF / TAPE.

PROGRAM TRACKS
Programmingtracksofdiscarepossiblewhenplaybackisstopped.Upto20trackscanbestoredin
the memory in any order.
1. In stop mode, press PROG button , the 0andthePROGRAMindicatorwillbeashingonandoffonthedisplay.
2. PressCDSKIP/SEARCHFORWARDbuttontoselecttherstdesiredtracktobeprogrammed.
3. PressPROGbuttontoenter.Thedisplaychangestoshow0anditwillbeashing.
4. Repeatsteps2&3tostoreotherdesiredtracksuntilalltracksareprogrammed.
5. PressPLAY/PAUSEbuttontostartplaybackfromtherstprogrammedtrack.
6. PressSTOPbuttontostopprogramplayback.
Note:Programfunctioncanonlybedoneinstopmode.
To Erase the Memory(Program)
Tocleartheprogram,youmayhavetwoways:
1. Press STOP button when the disc is stopped, or
2. OpentheCDcompartmentlid,programwillbeerased.

Note on CD-R/RW discs
- Becauseofnon-standardizedformatdenition/productionofCD-R/RW,
playbackqualityandperformancearenotguaranteed.
- ManufacturerisnotresponsiblefortheplayabilityofCD-R/RWduetorecordingconditions,
suchasPCperformance,writingsoftware,mediaability,etc.
- Do not attach a seal or label to either side of the CD-R/RW disc. It may cause a malfunction.
- ItisrecommendedtorecordonlyaudiolesonCD-R/RWdiscsforeasyreading.

REPEAT PLAYBACK
Thisfunctionallowsasingletrackoralltracksonadisctobeplayedrepeatedly.
TO REPEAT THE SAME TRACK
Press the REPEAT button once during playback, Repeat
indicatorwillilluminateandkeepashing.
TO CANCEL REPEAT PLAYBACK FUNCTION
PresstheREPEATbuttonagainuntilrepeatindicatoroff.
TO REPEAT THE WHOLE DISC
Press the REPEAT button twice until repeat indicator
willlighten.
MIX / RANDOM PLAY
PROGRAM PLAYBACK
Press MIX button once, the display will show a " MIX " and play the disc in Mix / Random order automatically.
WhenCDisplayinginMix/Randommode,press"SKIP"toselectanothertrackrandomly.

1 . Slide the Function switch to OFF / TAPE position. 3 . Press the PLAY button.

Press the STOP button.
TO FAST WIND
Press the F.FWD button. Press the STOP button to stop
windingatthedesiredposition.
2 . Insert the cassette.

IftheCDskipsorwillnotplay,thediscmayneedcleaning
.Beforeplaying,wipethediscfromthecentreoutwitha
cleaningcloth.Afterplaying,storethediscinitscase.
CLEANING THE UNIT
Donotusevolatilechemicalsonthisunit.Cleanbylightly
wipingwithasoftcloth.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Ifanabnormaldisplayindicationoranoperatingproblem
occurs, disconnect the AC power cord and remove the
batteries. Wait at least 5 seconds, then reconnect the AC
power cord or reinstall the batteries.
WARNING
ShouldtheCDdoorbeopenedbeforethereadingofthe
CDcompleted,ajammingnoisemayoccur.Thisisresolved
byclosingtheCDdoor.
MAINTENANCE
CLEANING THE CD LENS
If the CD lens is dusty, clean it with a brush-blower. Blow
several times on the lens and remove the dust with the
brush.Fingerprintsmayberemovedwithacottonswab
moistened with alcohol.
