This guide will show you how to disassemble the LG Optimus G Pro mobile phone, assisting
in making the repair of the device both simple and inexpensive. Following the steps we have

•Let’s begin to disassemble the LG Optimus G
Pro by removing its back cover.
•Next, use the plastic opening tool to lift and
remove the battery from the LG Optimus phone.

Now that the back cover is off and the battery is
removed from the phone, the SIM and MicroSD
cards are easily accessible. Remove the SIM
and MicroSD cards from the Optimus G Pro.
•The rear section of the phone’s case is secured
into place by fourteen small Phillips screws
(#00), locate and remove the fourteen screws
with the appropriate screwdriver.
•Insert the plastic opening tool in the notch
between the cover and the phone. Pry at this
point to release the clips holding the cover to
the phone.

•Next, insert the plastic opening tool in the seam
that surrounds the perimeter of the phone. After
beginning separation at the seam, the plastic
clips holding the rear portion of the case to the
phone are easily separated with a slight twist of
the opening tool. Work your way around the
phone until the rear portion of the case is
removed.

•With the rear portion of the case removed, you
can now push the speaker assembly out of its
secured location in the rear case and remove it
from the LG Optimus G Pro.
Use the spudger or the plastic opening tool to
pry up the rear facing camera’s connection on
the motherboard.
•You can now remove the rear-facing camera
from the LG Optimus phone.

•Pry up and remove the four plug style
connections and one antenna co-axial plug
connector from the motherboard.

•With all of the connections removed from the
motherboard, maneuver and remove the
motherboard from the LG Optimus G Pro. Be
careful not to snag the motherboard on any
ribbon cables.
•The earpiece speaker is held in place with a
small amount of adhesive. Use the spudger or a
similar pry tool to peel and remove the earpiece
speaker from its housing.

•With all of the connections and the earpiece
speaker removed from their housing, the dock
port assembly is free to be lifted and removed
from the LG phone.

•The front-facing camera has no adhesive but is
tightly secured into its housing. Use the fine tip
curved tweezers to lift the front-facing camera
from its position in the phone.
•The headphone jack is secured in place with a
small amount of adhesive. Use the tweezers or
the spudger to peel and remove the headphone
jack from the phone.

•The WiFi antenna piece is also secured in place
with a small amount of adhesive. Use the
tweezers to lift and remove the antenna from its
position in the Optimus G Pro.

•The power button ribbon cable is delicate so be
careful not to damage it in this step! Use the
tweezers or the spudger to peel and remove the
ribbon cable from the adhesive securing it in
place.
•Using the tweezers or the spudger, pry the
vibrator motor from the adhesive securing it in
place.

•Use the heat gun/blow drier to heat the
adhesive securing the touch screen to the
display assembly’s frame. This will soften the
connection between the two parts.

•Insert the plastic opening tool in the seam that
surrounds the display assembly. Work your way
around the phone to separate the touch screen
from the display assembly’s frame.
•Work your way around the entire perimeter of
the touch screen until it is disconnected from the
display assembly’s frame. When separating the
two pieces, be careful not to damage the LCD
screen that is located underneath the touch
screen.

•If necessary, use a razor blade to assist you with
the initial separation. The thin blade is easier to
fit in the seam to start separation and allow
access for the pry tool.
