Pleasechecktoseewhetherany
problemsyouencounteredwithyour
phonearedescribedinthissection
beforetakingthephoneinforserviceor
callingaservicerepresentative.
1. Phone memory
Whenthereislessthan10%ofspace
availableinyourphonememory,your
phonecannotreceivenewmessages.
You needtocheckyourphone
memoryanddeletesomedata,such
asapplicationsormessages,tomake
morememoryavailable.
To uninstall applications:
1. OntheHomescreen,touch>
Appstab>Settings >Apps
(DEVICEcategory).
2. Onceallapplicationsappear,scroll
toandselecttheapplicationyou
wanttouninstall.
3. TouchUninstall >OK toconrm.

2. Optimizing battery life
Extendyourbattery'slifebetween
chargesbyturningofffeaturesthatyou
don'tneedtohavingrunningconstantly
inthebackground.You canmonitor
howapplicationsandsystemresources
consumebatterypower.
Extending your phone's battery life:
•Turnoffradiocommunicationsyouare
notusing.IfyouarenotusingWi-Fi,
BluetoothorGPS,turnthemoff.
•Reducescreenbrightnessandseta
shorterscreentimeout.
•Turnoffautomaticsyncingfor
Gmail™,Calendar,Contactsandother
applications.
•Someapplicationsyouhave
downloadedmayreducebattery
power.
To check the battery power level:
•OntheHomescreen,touch>
Appstab>Settings > About

isdisplayedatthetopofthescreen.
To monitor and control how battery
power is being used:
•OntheHomescreen,touch>
Appstab >Settings > Power
saver(DEVICEcategory)>Battery
use(BATTERYINFORMATION
category).
Batteryusagetimeisdisplayedatthe
topofthescreen.Ittellsyouhowlongit
hasbeensinceyoulastconnectedyour
phonetoapowersourceor,ifcurrently
connected,howlongthephonewaslast
runningonbatterypower.Thescreen
showstheapplicationsorservicesusing
batterypower,listedinorderfromthe
greatesttosmallestamountused.

You cancombineseveralappicons
inafolder.Droponeappiconover
anotheronaHomescreenpanelorthe

(Factory reset)
Ifyourphoneneedstoberestoredtoits
originalcondition,performahardreset
torebootyourphone.
1. Turnthepoweroff
2. Pressandholdthefollowingkeys
atthesametime:Volume Down
Key + Home Key
+Power/Lock Key.
3. Releaseallofthekeyswhen
youseethescreenmessage
"PermanentlyEraseUserData&
ResetSettings?PressthePower
keytoconrmandanyotherkey
tocancel."Therstmessagewill
bedisplayedin10to12seconds.
4. PressthePower/Lock Key
toconrm(orpressanyotherkey
tocancel).Whenyoupressthe
Power/Lock Keytoconrm,
apop-upappearsasking"Areyou
sureyouwanttocontinuewith
erase?".

5. PressthePower/Lock Key
andyourphonewillberestored
tothefactorysettings.Tocancel,
pressanyotherkey.
Leaveyourphoneforatleastaminute
whilethehardresetiscarriedout.Your
phonewillrebootautomatically.
Caution
Ifyouperformahardreset,alluser
applicationsanduserdatawillbedeleted.
Thiscannotbereversed.Remember
tobackupanyimportantdatabefore
performingahardreset.
6. Opening and switching
applications
MultitaskingiseasywithAndroid
becauseyoucankeepmorethanone
applicationrunningatthesametime.
There'snoneedtoquitanapplication
beforeopeninganother.Useandswitch
betweenseveralopenapplications.
Androidmanageseachapplication,
stoppingandstartingthemasneeded
toensurethatidleapplicationsdon't
consumeresourcesunnecessarily.

8. When the screen freezes
If the screen freezes or the phone
does not respond when you try to
operate it:
Removethebattery,reinsertit,then
turnthephoneon.
OR
PressandholdthePower/LockKey
for10secondstoturnitoff.
