AND REPLACE.
PROCEDURE FOR
ASSEMBLY OF PUMP
PUMP ASSEMBLY
1.Attach HANDLE to the PUMP
ROD and OUTLET CASTING.
Use the two TOGGLE PINS
and COTTERS.
DRUM COVER ASSEMBLY
2.Slide PUMP TUBE through
DRUM COVER. Assemble
45812 CLAMP to inside of
DRUM COVER using WASH-
ER and large THUMB
SCREW (Do not tighten
securely). Assemble the
three SMALL THUMB
SCREWS into the rim of
DRUM COVER.
3. Install FOLLOWER on PUMP
TUBE. Insert LONG COTTER
PIN through PUMP TUBE at
lower end.

CONTAINER
1. Remove COVER of
LUBRICANT
CONTAINER.
2. Place PUMP TUBE into
LUBRICANT CONTAINER
with PUMP TUBE resting
on BOTTOM of
CONTAINER.
Position FOLLOWER to
cover the face of the
LUBRICANT.
Slide DRUM COVER down
to rest on RIM of
LUBRICANT CONTAINER.
Tighten the three THUMB
SCREWS securely.
3. Tighten the large THUMB
SCREW to secure PUMP
TUBE to DRUM COVER.

The MODEL 1296 FILLER PUMP is
hand operated and designed to fill all
Lever Type Lubriguns equipped with
LINCOLN FILLER NIPPLE.
OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS.
SELECTION OF LUBRICANT:
The MODEL 1296 is designed to dispense NORMAL GREASES (NLGI Grade #00, NLGI Grade #0, NLGI Grade #1).
If necessary to dispense a heavy grease (such as NLGI Grade #2), use LINCOLN FILLER PUMP MODEL 1204.
INITIAL PRIMING:
It is necessary that the FILLER PUMP TUBE be filled completely with LUBRICANT before attempting to fill a LUBRI-
GUN. To do this, unscrew the FILLER FITTINGAssembly from the OUTLET PIPE (see Fig. 1). Operate the HANDLE
until LUBRICANT flows from OUTLET PIPE. Replace FILLER FITTING Assembly on OUTLET PIPE.
NOTE:If PUMP does not prime, it may be necessary to prime it with oil. Use clean light weight oil; pour
approximately two ounces into OUTLET PIPE and operate HANDLE. When FILLER PUMP is primed, insert
FILLER NIPPLE into FILLER FITTING Assembly and LUBRIGUN is ready to be filled (see Fig. 2).
CAUTION:
If LUBRIGUN CONTAINER to be filled is air primed type, be sure to open VENT PLUG in COVER CAP to permit the
air to escape while CONTAINER is being filled.
IF FILLER PUMP LOSES PRIME OR VOLUME DECREASES:
1. Check LUBRICANT CONTAINER; it may be empty.
2. Dirt or foreign particles may be lodged in FOOT VALVE; clean thoroughly.
3. 32066 PISTON PACKING may be worn. Remove and replace.
4. Dirt or foreign particles may be lodged under 48267 PISTON CHECK DISC. Clean thoroughly.
NOTE: If lubricant leaks between 13127 PISTON ROD and 13115 GLAND NUT, this indicates 34251 GLAND
PACKING is worn. Remove and replace.
