The Linksys Wireless-G Access Point with SRX lets you connect
Wireless-G (802.11g), Wireless-B (802.11b), and new SRX-
enhanced devices to your wired network so you can add PCs
to the network without the cabling hassle. Create a "wireless
bubble" in that hard-to-wire home or office space, and save
the time, hassle, and expense of running cables. Plus, note-
book PCs can travel around your home or office and stay con-
nected wherever they go.
The Wireless-G Access Point with SRX combines smart antenna
technology with standards-based Wireless-G (802.11g) net-
working. By overlaying the signals of two Wireless-G compatible
radios, the "Multiple In, Multiple Out" (MIMO) technology effec-
tively doubles the data rate. And unlike ordinary wireless net-
working technologies that are confused by signal reflections,
MIMO actually uses these reflections to increase the range and
reduce "dead spots" in the wireless coverage area. The robust
signal travels farther, maintaining wireless connections up to 3
times farther than standard Wireless-G. And the farther away
you are, the more advantage you get -- the higher data rate
and reflection-friendly technology can yield up to 8 times more
throughput than Wireless-G in some situations. The access
point avoids interference by dynamically switching to the clear-
est channel available. Even your standard Wireless-G and -B
equipment will work better when communicating with an SRX-
enabled access point.
Wi-Fi Protected Access™ (WPA/WPA2) protects your data and
privacy with up to 128-bit industrial-strength encryption. You
can use the MAC Address filter to decide exactly who has
access to your wireless network.
