Little Giant PLATFORM PRO 10170 User manual

DO NOT EXCEED THE DUTY RATING OF THE LADDER. NEVER EXCEED 300 lb MAX CAPACITY.
The PLATFORM PRO is compatible with all Little Giant articulated extendable models.
WARNING
1. Inspect upon receipt and before each use. Never use if
damaged, bent or broken.
2. Make sure nuts and bolts are tight before using.
3. Do not use the platform on articulated extendable ladders
in 90-degree ladder mode.
4. Make sure the platform is level and fully hooked on rungs
before using.
5. Never stand on platform while it’s being used as a tool tray.
6. Never adjust the platform while it’s in use.
7. Never stand on platform if standing surface becomes slick from
water, ice, snow, or other substances.
8. Heed other warnings and instructions found on the ladder and
in operation and safety instructions.

with RAPID LOCK®
Fasteners
The PLATFORM PRO is compatible with all LITTLE GIANT®
articulated extendable models. It may be used as either a
tool tray or a standing platform, and enables you to do a
variety of jobs with many features, including:
• Various round holes for screwdrivers, hammers, drills, etc.
• Slotted holes for putty knives, drywall saws, etc.
• Dished area for nails, screws, nuts, bolts, etc.
• Paint tray locks*
• Adjustable arms that allow it to be set up on either the
outside or inside of the ladder.
* Works with most metal paint trays
RAPID LOCK® fastener operation
Use positions:
1. Unlock the RAPID LOCK® fasteners
by rotating 90-degrees until locking
pin rests outside of the hole.
2. Adjust to the desired length.
3. Lock by rotating 90-degrees until
locking pin is fully seated in desired
position.
4. Make sure both locks are fully
engaged before use.

PLATFORM PRO CAN BE USED AS A TOOL TRAY ON ANY RUNG. AS A STANDING SURFACE,
NEVER CLIMB ABOVE THE HIGHEST STANDING LEVEL OF THE LADDER. ALWAYS FOLLOW THE

PLATFORM PRO™ SET-UP & USE
Using the platform on the inside of the ladder
1. With the adjustable arms locked in
the longer position, place the wire
hooks on the rung below the
desired platform height, then place
the plaform on the next rung up
(fig. 1). Make sure the platform is
secure in position before using.
2. It is now ready for use as either a
tool tray or a standing platform
(fig. 2).

1. Making sure the platform is clean,
dry, and free of all tools and/or
materials, push it all the way
forward into the ladder (fig.5).
2. Climb one rung past the platform,
using its back edge as a rung as
you pass (fig. 6).
3. Reach down with your toe and pull
the platform back out. Make sure it
is securely in position before
stepping down onto it (fig. 7).
4. To climb down, reverse this pro-
cess by stepping up one rung, then
sliding the platform all the way in
with your toe before climbing down
(fig. 8)
Using the platform on the outside of the ladder
Using the platform as a standing platform on the outside of the ladder
WARNING
NEVER USE THE PLATFORM AS A STANDING PLATFORM WHEN MOUNTED ON THE BOTTOM
RUNGS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE LADDER. THIS COULD CAUSE THE LADDER TO TIP.
1. With the adjustable arms locked in
the shorter position, place the wire
hooks on the rung below the
desired platform height, then place
the plaform on the next rung up
(fig. 3). Make sure the platform is
securely in position before using
as either a tool tray or standing
platform.
2. It is now ready for use as a tool
tray (fig.4). To use it as a standing
platform, follow the steps below.

Paint tray instructions
1. Make sure the knobs on the front
of the plaform are in the horizontal
unlocked position (fig. 9).
2. Slide the tabs of a metal paint tray
into the slots on the front of the
platform (fig 10).
3. Rotate the knobs into the vertical
locked position (fig. 11)
4. If the tabs on your paint tray are
too wide to be locked in with the
knobs in the vertical position,
rotate the knobs into the 45° posi-
tion with the longer tab upward to
lock it in place (fig. 12)
