• You can put dierent foods in the baskets, but since steam will drip from the upper
basket, make sure their avours complement each other. When steaming meat and
vegetables, always place the meat in the lowest basket so that juice will not drip onto
the other food.
• Arrange the food with spaces between pieces to allow for maximum steam ow.
• Smaller pieces will cook quicker than larger pieces. For best results, ensure pieces of
food are similar in size. If pieces vary in size then layering is required. Place smaller
pieces on top.
• If you are cooking food with dierent cooking times, place the food that requires the
longest cooking time in the lowest basket and start cooking it rst. When the timer
reaches the setting for the next basket of food, remove the lid using oven gloves or a
cloth, and add the basket to the stack on the power base. Replace the lid.
• The cooking time will vary according to the shape, thickness and composition of the
food.
• Put the largest and thickest pieces of food in the lowest steam basket. Pierce with a
knife or skewer to check that the centre is cooked and the juices run clear.
• Steam leafy, green vegetables for the shortest possible time as they loose colour
easily.
7. Plug the steamer into the mains socket. Set your cooking time by rotating the timer
dial to the desired number of minutes. When steaming, the power indicator will
light up.
8. Check the water level by looking at the water level indicator, if needed, add water via
the water rell point of the water basin.
General Cooking Tips
If the water level in the water tank is too low during operation, the steamer will
turn o automatically, the power indicator will be o. In this case:
1. Unplug the steamer from the mains and allow to cool for a minimum of 4
minutes.
2. Add water via the water rell point, plug the mains back in and resume
cooking.
9. When the timer ends, there will be a single bell ring and the steamer will turn o.
Remove the baskets, using oven gloves to prevent burns. Place the basket on a
plate, as water from the steam will drip from the steam holes. Remove the food
promptly to avoid over-cooking.
10. Unplug the steamer from the mains socket and allow it to cool down completely.
11. Empty the water basin and rell it with fresh water before each use.

• If using more than one steam baskets then the cooking times will need to be
extended.
• If steaming food with a bone, the steaming time will need to be extended.
• When steaming larger quantities of food, remove cover about halfway through the
steaming time and stir using a long handled utensil and wear oven gloves.
• For recipes with long cooking times, reset the timer and top up with more water.
When relling, always switch o the steamer rst and empty the drip tray carefully (if
needed). Add sucient warm water (but not boiling water) for the remaining time.

Descaling the Water Basin
After about 1-2 months’use, some chemical deposits may build up in the water basin
or on the heating element, depending on the hardness of the water. It is essential to
descale the water basin regularly.
1. Fill the water basin to the maximum mark with a mixture of white vinegar and water.
Do not use any other chemical or detergent.
2. Plug the steamer into the mains socket. The steam baskets, lid, drip tray and rice
bowl are not to be used during this operation.
3. Set timer for approximately 20-25 minutes and start steaming. If the vinegar mixture
boils over, switch o the steamer and unplug from the mains socket.
4. When steaming has nished, unplug the steamer from the mains socket and allow it
to cool down before pouring the vinegar mixture out.
5. Rinse the water basin several times, or pour fresh water to the maximum level and
let the steamer work for a few minutes. Then discard the water.
