WARNINGS:
• The ML150LR™/ML150LRS™ fl shlight is high-intensity lighting
device th t is s fe during norm l oper ting use in which it is used to
project light t dist nce nd the lens is not obstructed or blocked. It is
not intended for use in h z rdous environments, such s explosive
environments, where only devices with ppropri te h z rdous
certific tions (such s “intrinsic lly s fe” nd/or “explosion-proof”)
should be used. If the device is left on when the lens is obstructed or
blocked, such misuse m y cre te potenti lly d ngerous he t build-up,
which could possibly result in fire, depending upon the environment in
which the device is being misused.
• This fl shlight is high-intensity lighting device c p ble of c using
eye d m ge to the user or others. Avoid shining the fl shlight directly

indoor loc tions. Exposing the device’s ch rging system to liquids could

• Never try to dis ssemble, rep ir or lter the AC d pter, plug or

• The fl shlight is not designed to oper te with the f ce c p off nd the
LED exposed. If cont cted directly, the exposed LED could become hot
enough to burn skin, or to melt or scorch some he t-sensitive m teri ls,
e.g., pl stics, rubber, cloth f brics, etc.
• Any b ttery m y le k h rmful chemic ls which m y d m ge eyes,
skin, clothing, or the inside of the fl shlight. To void risk of injury,
never dis ssemble b ttery p ck, nd do not let ny m teri l le ked
from b ttery come in cont ct with eyes or skin. In the event of
cont ct with eyes or skin, w sh the ffected re immedi tely nd
obt in prompt medic l ttention.

the plug directly.

• Do not use non-rech rge ble b tteries in your Rech rge ble Fl shlight
System. Use only MAG® rech rge ble b ttery p ck (ML150LR™
Model No. 485-000-034), (ML150LRS™ Model No. 485-000-075).
• For prolonged stor ge, remove the b ttery p ck nd store it sep r tely
in non-conductive wr pping, such s pl stic b g.
• C refully follow steps listed under “Inspection nd M inten nce” in
this m nu l.
• Alw ys use genuine ML150LR™/ML150LRS™ repl cement p rts nd
ccessories. Never connect the fl shlight to ny uxili ry product th t
h s not been pproved by M g Instrument, Inc. Doing so m y d m ge

• Discontinue use immedi tely if you notice ch nges in the b ttery such
s swelling, discolor tion or le k ge.
• Rech rge the B ttery t temper tures between 32°F nd 140°F (0°C to
60°C), s ch rging outside this r nge c n potenti lly reduce b ttery
c p city.

• This product is not toy, nd is not intended or recommended for use
by children.
• Keep the fl shlight, ll ccessories nd components out of the re ch of
sm ll children – especi lly sm ll p rts th t might present choking

BATTERY DISPOSAL
• Cover the met l termin ls with insul ting t pe before dispos l, to
prevent ccident l short-circuiting.
• Never dispose of b ttery p ck by throwing it into fire. B ttery
explosion could result.
• Never disc rd used b ttery p ck with ordin ry solid w stes, since it
cont ins toxic subst nces.
• The se led Lithium Iron Phosph te (LiFePO4) b ttery stick supplied
with your fl shlight must be recycled or disposed of properly. Cont ct

1. Face Cap - The remov ble f ce c p, which is thre ded onto the
he d, is O-ring se led nd ret ins the polyc rbon te lens nd the
precision-engineered reflector th t is the he rt of the optic l system.
2. Head - The he d houses the reflector nd
the LED module. The fl shlight’s Quick-Adjust ble
Be m oper tes by rot ting the he d. About ¼ turn
of the he d c uses the be m to v ry between
wide floodlight setting nd n rrow spotlight
setting (Fig. 1). To remove the he d, first remove
the f ce c p nd reflector; the he d is then free to
slide down the b rrel. This m neuver provides
ccess to the O-ring se l th t is se ted in groove
on the outside of the b rrel, ne r the he d end,
nd se ls the he d-b rrel ssembly g inst grit
nd moisture.
3. Switch - Se led, flush-with-the-b rrel electronic switch provides
ccess to five different functions – Full Power, Low Power, Strobe
(12x/sec), Eco, nd Moment ry On/Off.
4. Serial Number - Your fl shlight’s unique seri l number is
perm nently engr ved on the b rrel for e se of identific tion nd
registr tion. Ple se note your seri l number for future
reference:____________________.
5. Tail Cap - The t il c p is thre ded onto the b rrel nd ret ins the
Lithium Iron Phosph te (LiFePO4) rech rge ble b ttery. The t il c p/b rrel
junction is se led by lip se l th t prevents entry of moisture nd grit,
while llowing the venting of ny g s th t m y be gener ted within the
fl shlight. The t il c p c n be removed to inspect/repl ce the b ttery nd
to m int in/repl ce the lip se l.

To remove the fl shlight from the ch rging cr dle: Gr sp the fl shlight, press
the quick-rele se button (Fig. 4A) nd lift up (Fig. 4B).
To return the fl shlight to the ch rging cr dle: Pl ce the front end of the light
into the front end of Ch rging Cr dle, lower the fl shlight until it clicks into
pl ce (Fig. 5).
Once it is mounted to w ll or in vehicle, you’ll find th t the technique for
removing nd returning the fl shlight to the Ch rging Cr dle works with
one motion.
The quick-rele se button requires very little force to remove nd return the
fl shlight to the ch rging cr dle.
Constructed of engineering gr de thermopl stics, this Ch rging Cr dle unit h s m ny
fe tures. Input c n be from 12–14 volts ( utomotive inst ll tions) or 120-240 volts AC,
when used with converter for ch rging indoors.

Direct Wire–Vehicle Installation 12–14 Volt Only (Not for 24-Volt Systems)
A 6’ power ccessory cord is v il ble to f cilit te the direct-wiring of the rech rge ble system (Fig. 7). MAG Instrument recommends
using n ignition-switched circuit (fused for 10 or 15 AMPS). This is most often the r dio or ccessory fuse. The Positive (+) le d (red) is
connected to the fuse output, nd the Ground (-) le d (bl ck) wire should be tt ched to met l p rt of the ch ssis, which serves s
b ttery ground return.

A Typical Installation
1. Loc te nd mount the cr dle using ppropri te screws nd nchors for
the loc tion nd m teri l.
2. Att ch end of DC power cord or AC converter to ch rging cr dle by
inserting round plug into power connection port in the side of the
ch rging cr dle (Fig. 6, 7 & 10).

The Battery

Your Battery’s First Charge Is Important!
To ssure the freshness of your b ttery nd to void ny oper tion l
problems in shipping, it h s been p ck ged in n UNCHARGED st te.
For optimum oper tion of your fl shlight, it should be ch rged full
6 hours … before using for the first time.
Battery Installation
If the battery was shipped outside of the flashlight: After you h ve removed
the fl shlight from the Ch rging Cr dle unscrew the t il c p (Fig. 8) nd insert
b ttery p ck (Fig. 9) into the b rrel. The positive (+) end—this is the end with
button—goes into the b rrel first. Now screw on the t il c p nd m ke sure it’s tight.
NOTE: L rge end of the b ttery spring must be sn pped into the t ilc p.
First Charge Procedure
1. Connect ch rging cr dle to the AC converter or DC ccessory cord
(Fig. 10).
2. Plug into w ll recept cle (AC) or DC power source cord.
3. M ke sure ch rging cr dle indic tor LED is GREEN (see next p ge for
expl n tion of LED indic tor colors).
4. M ke sure fl shlight t ilc p is tight.
5. Pl ce fl shlight into ch rging cr dle.

After the first (6-hour) ch rge, the tot l time to fully ch rge fully
disch rged b ttery is pproxim tely (ML150LR™-2.5 hours)
(ML150LRS™-1.5 hours).
The ch rging cr dle is provided with n LED th t indic tes
b ttery ch rge st tus by blinking nd ch nging color (Fig. 11), s
seen in the ccomp nying ch rt.
Charger Mode Definitions:
• Charging: B ttery ch rge level is below 80% nd will f st
ch rge for up to 6 hours (m ximum ch rge time for deeply
disch rged b ttery). Typic l ch rge time is (ML150LR™-2.5 hours)
(ML150LRS™-1.5 hours).
• Top Off/Maintenance: B ttery ch rge level is t (or bove) 80%
nd will be slow ch rged to top off
• Idle: B ttery ch rge level is t 100% nd ch rging h s stopped or
there is no light in the cr dle
• Fault: Ch rger input/output Volt ge is below the minimum
threshold for norm l oper tion, short-circuit is detected, or
component f ilure h s occurred.

Switch Operation
Your Flashlight’s Function Sets and the Functions
Within Each Set
The ML150LR™/ML150LRS™ LED fl shlight includes powerful new
electronics, providing five different functions to choose from. Bec use
not ll functions re equ lly import nt to ll users, the ML150LR™/
ML150LRS™ LED fl shlight offers n rr y of USER-CONFIGURABLE
FUNCTION SETS th t LET YOU PERSONALIZE the settings for QUICKEST
ACCESS to the FUNCTIONS YOU USE MOST. The four v il ble
Function Sets re shown in the below Function Sets Ch rt.
The five different functions re: – Full Power, Low Power, Strobe (fl shes 12
times per second), Eco nd Moment ry On/Off (st ys on only while the switch
button is held down). Not ll of these functions re equ lly import nt to every
user. Th t is why these functions re org nized into four different function sets
– so th t you c n person lize your fl shlight to suit your needs, configuring it
for quickest ccess to the functions th t best m tch your preference.
How To Choose A Function Within a Set - “Quick Click”
The v il ble function sets, nd the functions within e ch one, re shown in
the Function Sets Ch rt.
As it comes out of the p ck ge, your ML150LR™/ML150LRS™ LED fl shlight
is set to the “Gener l (Def ult)” function set (Function Set #1 in the ch rt). If you
require only those three functions (Full Power, Low Power nd Eco), then you
never h ve to ch nge it. You c n select function within th t set by the “Quick
Click” method: Turn the fl shlight on with one Quick Click nd it is on t Full
Power. Turn it off, then turn it on with two Quick Clicks ( bout s f st s you
would s y “Click Click”) nd it turns on t the Low Power function. Turn it off,
then turn it on with three Quick Clicks ( bout s f st s you would s y “Click
Click Click”) nd you h ve the Eco function.
Selecting function within ny of the other function sets works the s me w y
– st rting with the fl shlight off, invoke the desired function by pplying 1, 2 or
3 “Quick Clicks”, s the ch rt shows. For ex mple, if you re in “Outdoor”
function set (Function Set #2) nd you w nt to select the Strobe function, begin
with the fl shlight off, pply three Quick Clicks, nd your fl shlight will strobe.
How To Go From One Function Set To Another
Your ML150LR™/ML150LRS™ LED fl shlight’s “Gener l (Def ult)” setting is Function Set
#1. If you w nt to keep th t setting you don’t h ve to do nything. Function Set #1 will
lw ys be in effect unless it is ch nged. If you w nt to choose different function set,
follow these steps:
