Tomorrow's Technology…Today
SR9300 THX Ultra ®Digital Surround Receiver
Setting the Standard
For nearly 50 years, Marantz has been setting the standard for audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts
alike. In keeping up with leading edge design and engineering, Marantz is once again going to be the
benchmark by which all others are judged. Unlock the power and performance of the SR9300 and
experience unrivaled depth and intensity in home entertainment.
Technology to Last
The SR9300 incorporates the latest generation of digital surround sound decoding technology such as THX
Ultra ®, THX Surround EX, Dolby Digital EX, DTS ES-Discrete 6.1, DTS-ES Matrix 6.1, DTS Neo:6, DTS
24/96, CS ll, Dolby Pro-Logic II (movie and music) as well as a built-in HDCD decoder for HDCD encoded
CDs. In addition, Marantz has focused on the future. By utilizing pre-out/main-in jacks, 7.1 direct inputs
and a RS232C communication port, the SR9300 is upgradeable to tomorrow’s technology, today!
Unleash the Power
The SR9300 features a fully discrete 7 channel amplifier section capable of delivering 140 watts of high-
current amplification, for continuously clean and stable power into each of the seven channels. It employs
a massive super ring toroidal power transformer in combination with oversized filter capacitors. Current
feedback topology allows total operation stability, while requiring minimal amounts of negative feed-back,
resulting in an excellent transient frequency response and superb sonic transparency. This design
configuration is capable of a clear and powerful reproduction of the most demanding action movie
soundtracks and full range (multi channel) music discs. Through its ability to generate very high output
voltages, the SR9300 can easily drive the most demanding speakers with optimum results.
Unleash the Power
Experience the Emotion
The SR9300 incorporates the most advanced Digital Signal Processing circuitry, along with a Crystal®
192 kHz/24 bit D/A converter in each of the seven channels. When reproducing 2 channel stereo,
these DACs are automatically switched in dual differential mode, to perform the highest quality D/A
conversion. In the SR9300, all of the digital, analog and control circuits are separated and
extensively shielded in their own enclosures to prevent crosstalk and other unwanted interference.
Independent power supplies are incorporated for the FL display, audio and video sections for
maximum separation, clarity and dynamic range. Together with a copper plated chassis, gold plated
terminals, and hand-selected customized components, all elements work in harmony to recreate the
emotion, exactly as the artist had intended.
Installation Friendly
The SR9300 is designed and engineered
with extensive feedback from custom
installation experts, dealers and consumers.
It features multi-room/multi-source, 2
assignable DC triggers, a RS232C
communication port, heavy duty speaker binding posts and an extensive array of both analog and
digital inputs / outputs. With 9 assignable digital inputs (10 total), 4 component inputs, SACD Multi
Channel (7.1 channel) direct inputs and a multi room speaker and OSD output versatility is taken to
a stunning new level. Furthermore, the SR9300 outputs the OSD information through the
professional grade component video outputs as well as
the Y/C (S video) and composite video outputs.
This highly desirable feature is ideal for
anyone utilizing a HD ready display
device.
Control the World
The SR9300 includes the RC3200
programmable touch screen
learning remote control, with two-
way communication. Information re-
garding the status of the SR9300 such as
source, station name, surround mode, etc are all
displayed on the back-lit touch screen panel. Other
features of the remote control include: 1 MB of
memory, a computer connection (via RS232C) to upload
customized control codes, programmable macros and a wide
carrier frequency range for compatibility with other brands. All of
these functions enable friendly, extensive and versatile control during
setup and operation.
In Marantz Style
The new generation of Marantz Receivers are
stylish and completely symmetrical. On the
front panel of the SR9300, buttons are kept
to a minimum. Source selectors and volume
controls are intuitively placed. Even the
front panel A/V inputs, including an optical
digital input are covered, unobtrusively
behind an oil dampened thick metal fold
down door. An elegant and accurate fly
wheel gyro touch tuning dial completes the
balanced Marantz design. The large left dial
knob on the left can be used as multi dial
which allows all functions of the SR9300 to
be operated via the front panel.
