Changing the Battery
Pull on the raised lip to swing
the battery compartment open
sideways.
1Turn the audio processor upside
down to let the old battery fall out.

Remove the
protective lm from
the new battery.
3Place the new battery in
the compartment, with
the positive (+) pole
facing upwards.
4Close the battery
compartment.

It is recommended to remove the protective lm one to two minutes before battery
insertion. This time is needed for the zinc-air battery to charge up completely.

Changing the Cover
Insert your ngertips into the nger
grooves between the cover and the
audio processor. Carefully lift and
remove the cover.
1Take a look at your new cover and
the snap-on connection (marked).
The cover should be afxed in two
steps.

It is important to snap the cover in place in two steps as shown. First press
together on the side far away from the battery compartment, and then on the
battery compartment side.

Using Attachment Clips
Position the bracket of
the attachment clip over
the bracket groove.

snaps into place.
2Clip to hair or clothes
as appropriate.

Thanks to its advanced hearing technology, you don’t
need any additional accessories to use your SAMBA2.
However there are two handy accessories available,
which you can use for your own convenience.
SAMBA2 Remote
The SAMBA2 Remote is an optional mobile app which
can assist with switching between simple audio
processor settings, as predened by your audiologist
or healthcare professional. The SAMBA2 Remote app
is available for both iPhone and Android, and can be
downloaded separately from your app store.

Optional Accessories

SAMBA2GO
SAMBA2GO is an optional assistive listening device
which can be used to stream sound from your mobile
phone, TV, tablet, and many other devices. It can
help with making hands-free phone calls, and brings
the sound from your device straight to your ears.
Additionally, SAMBA2GO can assist with switching
between simple audio processor settings, as predened
by your audiologist or healthcare professional.
SAMBA2GO is available separately.

Follow these basic yet important care instructions to help improve the functioning
of your SAMBA2 Audio Processor.
Cleaning
MED-EL recommends cleaning SAMBA2 weekly for hygienic reasons. Only clean the
outside of the device. Do not clean SAMBA2 in or under water. Use a damp cloth
to gently clean your audio processor. If necessary, use non-abrasive household soap
together with a damp cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
Storage
When not in use, SAMBA2 should be kept in the case provided. To extend the
battery life, you can remove the battery from SAMBA2, or simply open the battery
compartment, when not in use.
Contact with Water
Prevent water from running into SAMBA2 via the microphone openings or the
batterycompartment.

Drying
If you live in a humid climate or perspire heavily, the audio
processor should be placed in a drying kit instead of in the
SAMBA2 case when it is not worn.
Sunlight
Please store the SAMBA2 in a dry place and protect it
from direct sunlight.
Refer to your instructions for use for more information about cleaning,
storage, handling and disposal of the SAMBA2 Audio Processor.

If you encounter any minor technical problems, carefully follow these steps to identify
possible causes and solutions:
1. Check the polarity of the battery. The at side (+) must be on top.
2. Check if the battery is empty and needs to be replaced.
3. Check the audio processor for dirt or signs of damage. Gently clean any processor
parts that are dirty and wipe dry after cleaning. If any parts appear damaged,
contact your MED-EL representative.
4. Read detailed information on troubleshooting in your SAMBA2 instructions for use.
5. Contact your audiologist, healthcare professional, or your MED-EL representative.
