Before operating your car ra io, rea these instructions carefully to
familiarise yourself with this evice. We recommen keeping these
instructions in your car to refer to when you nee them.
SAFETY ON THE ROADS
Roa safety shoul be your top priority. Use your car ra io only in suitable
traffic con itions. Please ensure that you are familiar with the ra io before
setting off.
You shoul always be able to hear police, fire an other emergency service
sirens in goo time while in your vehicle. For these reasons, please play
your ra io at an appropriate volume while riving.
INSTALLATION
If you wish to install your car ra io yourself, please refer to the installation
an connection instructions at the start of this manual.
CD PLAYER
The CD player is a first class laser pro uct.
The unit has a safety system that prevents angerous laser rays from
escaping from the unit uring normal use. In or er to avoi injury to
the eyes never manipulate or amage the unit's security system.

INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
 Insert the ra io in the ISO slot for car ra ios in your vehicle, or select another location for
installation where it will not affect the river's ability to rive.
 Connect the cable shortly before finally installing the evice an check the station memory
function.
 If changes have to be ma e to the vehicle, consult a vehicle ealer or specialist workshop.
Incorrect installation can lea to malfunctions affecting the complete electrical system of the
vehicle.
 If necessary use vehicle-specific ISO a apters for installing the car ra io. These a apters
can be obtaine from specialist workshops, ealers, or specialist epartments of car equipment
warehouses.
 Install the unit in such a manner that no injury can be cause uring heavy braking or other
riving situations.
 Note that the functioning of the car ra io may
be impaire if it is installe at an angle of more
than 30% from a level position.
 Ensure that the car ra io is not expose to
excessive temperatures (e.g. from irect
sunlight or air from the in-car heating system),
ust, irt, or excessive vibration.
PREPARATION
 Before installation always remove the two transportation safety screws in the upper part
ra io casing (recognisable by their re flags)!
 Now remove the mounting frame from the casing of the car ra io.
 Remove screws before installing.

ASSEMBLY
The car ra io can be fitte in any stan ar ISO slot for car ra ios. If you vehicle has
no ISO slot, please consult a specialist workshop, ealer, or a specialist epartment
of a car equipment warehouse.
 Insert the mounting frame in the ISO installation slot.
 Ben the flaps in the mounting frame with a screw river so that it is fixe firmly
in place in the installation slot (see iagram).
 Now connect the car ra io's ISO block to the
vehicle's two ISO plugs.
 Connect the vehicle antenna's cable
to the car ra io antenna socket.
 Push the car ra io carefully into the slot until it fits securely.
While pushing the ra io, take care to ensure that the cables are not amage uring the
process.
 Insert the control panel as escribe in the next section.
Please use the car ra io's ISO block for installation. These a apters can be obtaine from
specialist workshops, ealers, or specialist epartments of car equipment warehouses.
If the ISO block is separate from the ra io the warranty will become NULL AND VOID!

 Push the car ra io forwar into the slot until it fits securely.
 Press von below an close the control panel,
so that you can see the isplay.

REMOVING THE CONTROL PANEL
 Press the OPEN button (2).
 The control panel separates itself from the
housing an you can remove it.
For protection, always keep the control panel in its case.
PROBLEMS DUE TO INCORRECT CABLE CONNECTIONS
In some vehicle mo els, the stan ar arrangement of the cables [4] an [7] in the ISO block
A (see below, "ARRANGEMENT OF THE ISO BLOCK") is exchange at the factory.
If this is the case in your vehicle, certain functions may be impaire : stations may not be
store properly, for example.
To solve this, the re cable switche plus an the yellow cable (permanent plus) will nee
to be reverse in the ISO block.

OPERATION
BASIC OPERATION
SWITCHING ON/OFF
 Press the POWER button (9) to switch the car ra io on or off.
VOLUME/BASS/TREBLE/BALANCE/FADER
 By pressing the SEL button (1) repeate ly you can isplay the volume, bass, treble, balance
an fa er settings an a just them using the VOL+/VOL- (1) multi-keys control.
MENU FUNCTIONS
 Hol own the SEL (1) key for longer than 1 secon to call up the menu.
The in ivi ual menus are: MASK DPI/MASK ALL, DSP OFF/POP M/ROCK M/CLASS
M/FLAT M, LOUD ON/LOUD OFF, BEEP ON/BEEP OFF, SEEK 1/SEEK 2, STEREO/MONO,
LOCAL/DX, VOL LAST/ VOL ADJ.
Press the SEL (1) repeate ly to select the in ivi ual sub-menus. Choose your setting from
a sub-menu using the VOL+/VOL- (1) keys.

RADIO FUNCTIONS
SELECT BAND
Press the BND button (6) to switch between FM (FM1, FM2, FM3) an me ium wave (MW1,
MW2). You can store up to 6 stations in each ban .
TUNING IN STATIONS
Press the tuning buttons (4). You can search forwar s or backwar s by hol ing own one
of these buttons.
STORING STATIONS
After the tuning function has locate a station, keep one of the number buttons 1-6 (12) hel
own for a few secon s. A beep will soun to in icate that the station has been store .
FINDING STORED STATIONS
By pressing a number button 1-6 (12) you can locate the stations you have store .
STORING STATIONS AUTOMATICALLY (AP)
By pressing the AP button (5) all stations that can be picke up will be store in or er.
REGIONAL PROGRAMME MODE
Some stations broa cast regional programmes. So that only these alternative frequencies
for the require regional programmes are selecte , hol own the AF button (10) until you
hear a signal tone.
PTY (Program Type Co e)
To activate the menu, press the PTY button (8).
You can now search for or select your preset stations by the following categories:
-> PTY MUSIC -> PTY SPEECH -> PTY OFF
Please note that this information will epen on the region, the broa caster
an the station.

RADIO (CONT.)
TA ("TRAFFIC ANNOUNCEMENT")
Hol own the TA button (7) to switch this mo e on or off.
When the TA function is active uring CDs or MP3 playback, the unit will automatically switch
back to the ra io mo e. This can be interrupte by pressing the TA button again without
switching off the TA function.
RDS (RADIO DATA SYSTEM)
RDS is a service provi e by ra io stations. In a ition to tra itional music an voice services
they also broa cast a itional information in the form of encrypte igital signals an these
are analyse an isplaye by the car ra io.
Press the AF button (10) to switch the RDS mo e on or off. On the isplay (3) you can now
see the programme name an other information (traffic information, the title of the track
currently being playe , etc.).
The following ifferent kin s of RDS services may be available:
 PI (Programme I entification Co e):
The PI co e is use by the ra io to i entify the station being receive .
 PS (Programme Service Name):
This service allows the station's name to be isplaye .
 AF (Alternative Frequencies):
The car ra io automatically searches for an alternative frequency for the current station with
the strongest signal.
 TP/TA (Traffic Programme / Traffic Announcement):
Traffic information
 EON (Enhance Other Network Information)
If there is a traffic announcement, then this enables the ra io to switch to the ra io station
broa casting it even if you are currently listening to another station.
PTY (Programme Type Co e)
This co e enables you to search for your selecte type of programme, for example a sport

CD PLAYER
INSERTING AND REMOVING CDS
 To insert a CD press the OPEN button (2). Insert the CD into the slot. The CD will now be
playe . The isplay (3) will show [S-CDP].
 To remove the CD press the EJECT button, this is locate on the rear of the front panel.
The CD will be ejecte . The car ra io will change back to RADIO mo e.
SKIPPING TRACKS
 By pressing the UP an DOWN buttons (4), you can select the previous or next track on
the CD. The track number is shown on the isplay (3).
PAUSING CD PLAYBACK
 You can pause the CD by pressing the TOP button (12). Pressing the button again will restart
playback.
FAST FORWARD/REWIND
 By hol ing own the UP an DOWN buttons (4) buttons for a little longer, you can "spool"
forwar s or backwar s through the track being playe .
SCANNING ALL TRACKS
 Press the INT button (12). The first 10 secon s (approx.) of every track will be playe in
or er. Further pressing of the button will change the playback mo e back to normal.
REPEATING A TRACK
 Press the RPT button (12). The current track will be repeate . Further pressing of the button
will change the playback mo e back to normal.
RANDOM PLAY OF ALL TRACKS
 Press the RDM button (12). The player will "shuffle" through the tracks, playing them in
ran om or er. Pressing the button again will change the playback mo e back to normal.

MP3 PLAYER
An MP3 CD will start to play automatically as soon as it is inserte in the player. Please refer
to "CD PLAYER OPERATION" for etails of the button functions.
You can select the tracks an artists irectly. The use of this function an other MP3-specific
functions will epen to some egree on the MP3 CD itself. Please bear this in min when
pro ucing this type of CD.
TRACK SEARCH (NUMBERS)
 Press the AP button (5). The isplay (3) will show [TRK SCH]. Now enter the number using
the number keys. Confirm your selection by pressing the BAND "ENTER" button (6).
ARTIST SEARCH (LETTERS)
 Press the AP button (5) twice. The isplay (3) will show [FILE SCH]. Now enter the number
using the number keys. Confirm your selection by pressing the BAND "ENTER" button (6).
 To limit the search you can also a the letters that come after the first letter. To o this,
after entering the first letter press the SEL (1) button an enter the next letter. Confirm your
selection by pressing the BAND "ENTER" button (6).

MP3-PLAYER (CONT.)
ID3 TAG
This feature refers to a block of information store on an MP3 CD lying
"behin " the actual music information on the MP3. Among other things, it
inclu es the name of the artist, the name of the track, the name of the album,
the year it was release , the style of music, an in some cases notes.
The car ra io can rea this block of information an show it on the isplay
(3). This is more user-frien ly than with an au io CD, where only the title
(track) numbers are isplaye .
When pro ucing your MP3 CDs, please take care to ensure that you can input or mo ify the
ID3 tag for your MP3 CDs yourself using an ID3 tag e itor available from specialist provi ers.
