When thepowersupplyis
interruptedand thenrestore,theair
conditionersautomaticallyrestore
thepreviousfunctionsetting.

7.4Air purgingofthe pipingandindoor unit
Requiredtools:
Hexagonalwrench;adjustablewrench;torquewrenches,wrenchtoholdthejointsandgas leakdetector.
Note:
Theairintheindoorunitandinthepipingmustbepurged.Ifairremainsintherefrigerationpiping,itwillaffect
thecompressor,reducethecoolingcapacity,andcouldleadtoamalfunctionofunit.

Besure,usinga torquewrenchtotightentheserviceportcap(afterusingtheserviceport),sothatitprevents
thegas leakagefromtherefrigerationcycle.
Procedure
1.Recheckthepipingconnections.
2.Openthevalvestemofthe2-wayvalve
counterclockwise approximately90’,wait10
seconds,andthensetittoclosed position.
Besuretouse ahexagonalwrenchto
operatethevalvestem.
3.Checkfor gasleakage.
Checktheflareconnectionforgasleakage
4.Purgetheair fromthesystem.
Setthe2-wayvalvetotheopenposition
andremove thecap fromthe3-wayvalve’sservice
port.
Usingthehexagonalwrenchtopressthe
valvecorepin,dischargeforthreesecondsand
thenwaitforoneminute.
5.Usetorquewrenchtotightentheserviceportcap
to atorqueof1.8kgf.m.(18n.m)
6.Setthe3-wayvalve totheopened position.
7.Mounted thevalve stemnutstothe2-wayand
3-wayvalves.
8.Checkfor gasleakage.
Atthistime,especiallycheckforgasleakage from
the2-wayand3-waystemnuts,andfromthe
serviceport.
Caution:
Ifgasleakageisdiscoveredinstep (3)above,
takethefollowingmeasures.
Iftheleaks stopwhenthepipingconnections
aretightened further,continueworkingfromstep (4).
Ifthegasleaks donotstopwhenthe
connectionsareretightened,repair thelocationofthe
leak,dischargeallofthegas throughtheserviceport,
andthenrechargewiththespecified amountofgas
fromagas cylinder.

7.5Pumpingdown(Re-installation)
Procedure
1.Confirmthatboththe2-wayand3-wayvalvesaresettotheopenedposition.
Remove thevalve stemcapsandconfirmthatthevalvestemsareintheopened position.
Besuretouse ahexagonalwrenchtooperatethevalve stems.
2.Operatetheunit for10to15minutes.
3.Stopoperationandwaitfor3minutes,thenconnectthechargesetto theserviceportofthe3-wayvalve.
Connectthechargehosewiththepushpinto thegasserviceport.
5.Airpurgingofthecharge hose.
Openthelow-pressurevalve onthecharge setslightlytopurge air fromthecharge hose.
6.Setthe2-wayvalve tothecloseposition.
7.Operatetheair conditioneratthecoolingcycleandstopitwhenthegaugeindicates0.1MPa.
8.Immediatelysetthe3-wayvalvetotheclosed position.
Dothisquicklysothatthegauge ends upindicating0.3to0.5Mpa.
Disconnectthecharge set,andamountthe2-wayand3-way valve’sstem nutsandserviceportcaps.
Use atorquewrenchtotightentheserviceportcap toatorqueof1.8kgf.m.
Besuretocheckfor gasleakage.

7.6Re-airpurging(Re-installation)
Procedure:
1.Confirmthatboththe2-wayand3-wayvalvesaresettotheclosedposition.
2.Connectthecharge setandachargingcylindertotheserviceport ofthe3-way valve.
Leave thevalve onthechargingcylinderclosed.
3.Airpurging.
Openthevalves onthechargingcylinderandthechargeset.Purgetheairbylooseningtheflarenutonthe
2-wayvalveapproximately45’for3secondsthenclosingitfor1minute;repeat3times.
Afterpurgingtheair,useatorquewrenchtotightentheflarenuttoonthe2-wayvalve.
4.Checkthegas leakage.
Checktheflareconnectionsforgasleakage.
5.Discharge therefrigerant.
Close thevalve onthechargingcylinderanddischarge therefrigerantuntilthegauge indicates0.3to0.5Mpa.
6.Disconnectthechargesetandthechargingcylinder,andsetthe2-wayand3-wayvalves totheopenposition.
Besuretouse ahexagonalwrenchtooperatethevalve stems.
7.Mountthevalvestemsnutsandtheserviceport cap.
Besuretouse atorquewrenchtotightentheserviceportcaptoatorque18N.m.
Besuretocheckthegasleakage.

7.7Balance refrigerantofthe2-way,3-wayvalves
Procedure:
1.Confirmthatboththe2-wayand3-wayvalvesaresettotheopenposition.
2.Connectthecharge settothe3-wayvalve’sserviceport.
Leave thevalve onthecharge setclosed.
Connectthechargehose withthepushpintotheserviceport.
3.Openthevalves(Lowside)onthechargesetanddischargetherefrigerantuntilthegaugeindicates 0.05to0.1Mpa.
Ifthereisnoairintherefrigerationcycle[thepressurewhentheairconditionerisnotrunningishigher
than0.1Mpa,discharge therefrigerantuntilthegaugeindicates 0.05 to0.1Mpa.Ifthisisthecase,itwillnotbe
necessarytoapplyanevacuation.
Dischargetherefrigerationgradually;ifit isdischarged toosuddenly,therefrigerationoilsill be discharged.

7.8Evacuation
Procedure:
1.Connectthevacuumpumpto thecharge set’scentrehose.
2.Evacuationforapproximatelyonehour.
Confirmthatthegaugeneedlehasmovedtoward-0.1Mpa (-76cmHg)[vacuumof4mmHgorless].
3.Closethevalve(Lowside)onthechargeset,turnoffthevacuumpump,andconfirmthatthegaugeneedle
doesnotmove(approximately5minutesafterturningoff thevacuumpump).
4.Disconnectthechargehosefromthevacuumpump.
Vacuumpumpoil,ifthevacuumpump oil becomes dirtyor depleted,replenishas needle.
