XGA AUDIO SWITCHER b Milestone is a device that helps
person/s to share computers (or laptops) with single projector and
single monitor, providing simultaneous displa s with Audio Output.

OPERATION

A. MANUAL MODE
Keep toggle-switch to manual position
Local Keypad
Select the required channel from the front panel ke pad.
 Remote contact closure/ remote keypad
Rear panel has a D9 male connector, operational at a
distance of 50 meters. Milestone’s remote ke pad or an
other remote contact closure can be connected at this
connector.
The connector diagram for D9 male connector is as follows:

Note: 1.To select channel 1, short 1and 9 through contact
switch or use Milestone’s remote ke pad.
2. For 1602 XGA Audio Unit 2 D9 Pin connectors are
given ; one for 1 to 8 selection and another for 9 to 16
selection
Remote RS2 2 interface
D9 female connector from rear panel is used for selecting
the switcher through RS232C Interface.

The simple command used for selecting the channels is
CHANNEL DECIMAL ASCI I

Communication parameters are 9600 baud, no parit , 8-bit
and 1 stop bit.
Whenever an channel is selected there well be a feedback
from the switcher on RS232 port i.e. when channel 1 is
selected, switcher will send 1! on the serial port pin no. 2.
Similarl 2! for channel 2 and so on.
B. SCANNING MODE (AUTO SWITCHING) (Optional)
For scanning mode, keep slide-switch in scan position.
Scanning time for each channel is 5 seconds.
Scan mode operates in two wa s: -
Scanning for the activated PCs or laptops only : -
In this mode, scanning will be done for activated PCs onl .
This mode can also be used as auto switching mode.

Scanning of all the PCs or laptops regardless of the
activated PCs:-
Short all the pins of D9 pin male connector designated as
‘SELECT’ (using another D9 Female Connector i.e.1 to 9
pins) at the rear panel. In this mode scanning of all PCs is
done regardless of the PC’s status (ON or OFF)
C. AUTO MODE
For Auto mode, keep slide-switch in Auto position.
Auto mode works on priorit basis. First priorit is given to
Channel 1, 2nd priorit to channel 2 and so on.
For example if S nc signal is detected on channel 2 and
channel 3 simultaneousl , onl channel 2 will get selected on
priorit basis. Channel 3 can be selected onl when channel 1
and channel 2 are deactivated.
