Introduction
Thank you very much for using SA3500G.
Operation Mode
The initial value of the operation mode is "Bridge".
The operation mode can be changed from "Bridge" to "Router" but
professional knowledge on network environment is needed to set up.
For the description of the router mode function and the setting procedure,
refer to "the Function Manual".
Wireless LAN Setting
For details on wireless LAN settings, see "Wireless LAN Function" in "the
Function Manual".
Notes Concerning Radio Waves
● Thisproducthasreceivedtechnicalstandardsconformity
certification.
● WhenusingIEEE802.11b,IEEE802.11gandIEEE802.11n(2.4GHz)
communication,the2.4GHzfrequencybandisused.Inthis
frequencyband,industrialequipmentsuchasmicrowaveovens,
scientificandothermedicalequipment,otherhomogenous
wirelessstations,localwirelessstationsformobileidentification
thatrequireslicenseusedinfactoryproductionlines,specificlow
poweredwirelessstationsandamateurwirelessstations(assumed
hereafteras"Otherwirelessstations"),etc.,donotrequire
licensing are operated.
(1) Confirm that "Other wireless stations" are not being used within the
vicinity before using the product.
(2) If, by any chance, interference occurs between this product and the
"Other wireless stations", change the channel being used by this
product, change the location of the device or stop using the device.
(3) In addition, contact us when interference is generated and problem
occurs.
● ItisnotpossibletocommunicatewithaBluetoothdeviceusingthe
2.4GHzband.

WhenusingtheIEEE802.11b,IEEE802.11g,IEEE802.11n
communication,wirelessdevicesuseall2.4GHzbands,andthe
band of mobile identification device can be avoided. The DS-SS and
the OFDM methods are adapted as the modulation method and the
interferencedistanceis40m.

● Whenthisproductisusedwith2.4GHzbandandthechannelisset
manually,thefollowingcontentisrecommended.
"Whenusingthisequipmentwith2.4GHzband,itisrecommended
tomakeeitherch1,ch6,andch11asthechannelsettinginorder
todecreasetheinterferenceandfortheimprovementoffrequency
utilizationefficiency."
However,inordertoavoidtheinterferencewithsystemsotherthan
wirelessLAN,itisnotlimitedifitisnecessarytouseotherthan
recommended1,6,11channels.
• Whenusingadualchannel,thereisapossibilityofcausing
interferencetootherwirelessstationsthatusethesamefrequency
band.
• When dual channel is "Enable", confirm that no interference is caused
to the radio signal condition of the surrounding of other confirmed
wireless stations.
• Change the setting to "Disable" immediately when interference is
generated in other wireless stations.

valueswhencommunicationiscarriedoutwithotherdevices
withthesameconfigurationasthisproduct.Thestandardvalues
maynotindicatetheactualdatatransferrate.
(2) Theinteroperabilityofthisproductwiththird-partyproductsis
not guaranteed.
(3) WirelessLANtransmissiondistanceandspeedvariesgreatly
dependingonobjectssuchaswallsandfurniture.

LicenseforMaintenanceUpgrade
Function
Maintenanceversionupgradeautomaticallyupdatesthroughthe
Internetwhenthereisanimportantchangeinthesoftwareofthis
product.
"Importantupdate"meansthatNECPlatforms,Ltd.(Hereinafter
referredas"ourcompany")willprovidethesoftwareversion
upgradetoprovidefunctionsofthisproduct(forexample,toimprove
securityproblems,etc.)whenitisdeterminedtoberequired.When
thereisanimportantupdate,thecustomerwillbeinformedthrough
"Important Notice" from the distributor.
If the maintenance version upgrade function starts to operate during
communication,thisproductrestarts,sothecommunicationthat
wasconnectedwillbedisconnected.Inaddition,formeteredbilling
contracts,communicationcostmaybeincurredduetosoftware
downloadsandspeedlimitmayoccurduetopackettransmission
excess.Communicationcostsincurredwillbechargedtothe
customer.
Inthisfunction,amongtheinformationrelatedtothisproduct,we
notifytheserverthatweoperatefortheminimumrequiredequipment
informationandnetworkinformationinorderforthisfunctionto
operate.Thisinformationisusedonlyfortheimplementationofthis
function and the improvement and enhancement of this product
andfunction.Moreover,wewillproperlymanagethisinformation
inaccordancewithourcompany’shandlingprocedures.Whenwe
usethisfunctionincooperationwithathirdparty,wewillproperly
manage it similar to our handling procedure.
Thisfunctionisinitiallyenabled.Ifthelicensecannotbeacquired,
refertothe"LicenseforMaintenanceUpgradeFunction"of"the
FunctionManual"todisablethefunction.However,ifthisfunctionis
disabled,updateisnotdoneautomaticallyeveniftherearecritical
softwareupdatesthataddresssecurityissues.Whencontinuously
usingthesoftwarebeforeitisimproved,thereisdangerof
unauthorizedaccessfromamaliciousthirdparty.

TermsofUseofHomeIPLocation
Function
Inthissection,thetermsofuseofHomeIPLocationfunctionare
described.
WhentheHomeIPLocationfunctionistobeused,checktheterms
ofusebeforeenablingit.Ifthefunctionisenabled,itisassumedthat
thecustomerhasagreedwiththetermsofuse.
HomeIPLocationfunctionisafunctiontoenablethecustomerto
accessthisproductmoreconvenientlyfromtheInternetbyHomeIP
Location name.
Thisfunctionisenabledinthefollowingcases:
• Settoroutermode(Initialvalue:Bridgemode)
• Global IP address is assigned to the WAN
• Maintenanceupgradefunctionis"ON"(Initialvalue:ON).
• HomeIPLocationfunctionis"ON"(Initialvalue:OFF)
Furthermore,evenifthefunctionisenabled,itmaytakeaboutone
hour until this product becomes accessible.
Inaddition,theHomeIPLocationnamewillbeuniquetothisproduct
and cannot be changed.
1. Righttouse
This feature is offered to the customer using this product.
Moreover, when this product is resold, this feature can be used by the new
customer of this product.
2. Prohibitedactivities
This function cannot be used when illegal or the following illegal acts
are done.
If we deem that the function use is unsuitable, we will stop the function
without prior notice.

(3) Act that violates third-party rights or the act of raising fear

For this function, we verified the functional operation of this product
and our server, and this is guaranteed. We do not assume any
responsibility on the warranty of equipment, customer's data,
guaranteed performance of operation, and the function due to the
operating environment of the customer when this function is used.
(3) Interruption and suspension of this function
Due to unavoidable reasons or company circumstances,
interruption and suspension of this function may be performed
without prior notice.
(4) Change in terms
Terms may be revised without prior notice.
4. Handlingofdeviceinformation
Our server will be notified of this product's device information necessary
for this function.
(1) Notified device information

•This product's network information used by the customer.
(2) Purpose of available information
Customer's device information will be used in order to improve
this product, this function and the implementation of this function.
Customer's device information is used to implement this function
and maintenance upgrade function and will not be used for any
other purpose.
(3) Information management
We perform appropriate management that conforms with our
handling procedure on the customer information that we use.
In cooperation with a third party, we execute appropriate
management similar to our handling procedures on this function.

Function
Check before using this product.
Whenthisproductisused,itisassumedthatthelicenseforthis
functionhasbeenacquired.
Todetectthethreat,thesecurityscanfunctionisprocessedthrough
theInternetasfollows:
• Automaticupdateofsignature(filedefinitionofvirusinformation,
etc.)usedbysecurityscanfunction
• ConfirmationofURLthataccessestheInternet
Formeteredbillingcontracts,communicationcostmaybeincurred
duetothedownloadingoftheinformationfileandspeedmaybe
limitedduetoexcesspackettransmission.Communicationcosts
incurredwillbechargedtothecustomer.
Withthisfunction,amongtheinformationrelatedtothisproduct,
theminimumdeviceinformationnecessaryinorderforthisfunction

PowerSupply

Whenusingthisproduct,ensurethatthepowerplugis
securelyinsertedintotheoutlet.Removethepowerplug
fromtheoutletbypullingontheplug.Donotpullthepower
cord.Otherwise,itmaybedamaged,andafireorelectric
shockmayoccur.
● Periodically(onceeverysixmonths)removedustthat
hasaccumulatedbetweenthepowerplugandoutlet.
Otherwise,afiremayoccur.
● Beforecleaningthisproduct,removetheACpowercord
fromtheoutletforsafetyreasons.Otherwise,anelectric
shockmayoccur.

• Aplaceaffectedbymagnetismfromanelectricproduct,audio/

electromagneticwavesareemitted(microwaveovens,speakers,
TVsets,radios,fluorescentlamps,airconditioners,electric
cookingequipment,etc.);or
• Aplacenearahigh-frequencynoisegeneratingsewingmachine

● Noisesmightbeheardifthisproductisusednearacordless
phoneoraradio.IfusednearaTVset,noisesmightbeheardand
thescreenmaybeunclear.Also,therewillbepoorreception.Keep
thisproductafewmetersawayfromthosedevices.
● Datacommunicationerrormayoccurifthisproductandthe
wirelessLANterminalareveryclosetoeachother.Keepthis
