1 Introduction
The John Deere GS2 2600 Display Kit Manual is intended to be used in conjunction with the
UC5 Spray Height Control Installation Manual. This manual provides instructions to interface
the UC5 Control Module to the John Deere GS2 2600 Display. For installation of the rest of the
UC5 Spray Height Control System please refer to the sprayer specific manual provided with the
kit.
1.1 Unlock Code
When the UC5 system is first powered up you will need to enter the unlock code on the display.
The unlock code can be found on the inside cover of the UC5 Operator’s Manual and on the
inside cover of the UC5 Installation Manual (located in the Spray Height Control Kit). The
unlock code provided in this Display Kit is matched to the serial number of the Control Module
in the Spray Height Control Kit. This code will only work for that specific Control Module.

2 Installation
The following instructions are for installation on a self propelled sprayer (Section 2.1), John
Deere 4630 sprayer (Section 2.2) or pull type sprayer (Section 2.3). On a pull type sprayer if the
CAN-bus and power supply are located on the sprayer, the control module may also be installed
on the sprayer (Section 2.4). This type of installation would eliminate the need for a cable
across the hitch.
2.1 Self Propel
1. Securely mount the control module (E01) inside the sprayer cab.
2. Tee the CAN-bus interface cable (C40) in to the John Deere CAN-bus. Connect the 6 pin
Deutsch plug on cable C40 to the end of the control module with only one Deutsch
connector.
3. For self propelled sprayers, a specific power cable (C30) is included in the UC5 Spray Height
Control kit, in addition to the generic power cable included in this display kit. You may use
either cable for the installation.
4. Connect the power cable (C30) to one of the two CAN-bus connectors on the control module.
Connect the other end of the power cable to the John Deere power bar or a 15A, +12 VDC
source.
5. Connect cable C01 to the other CAN-bus connector and route the cable towards the rear of
the sprayer.

2.2 John Deere 4630
1. Securely mount the control module (E01) inside the sprayer cab.
2. Tee the CAN-bus interface cable (C40) in to the John Deere CAN-bus. The John Deere
CAN-bus connection can be found in the right hand armrest. The connector is a 4 pin
Deutsch plug labeled “CAN 2”.
3. Connect the 6 pin Deutsch plug on cable C40 to the end of the control module with only one
Deutsch connector.
4. For self propelled sprayers, a specific power cable (C30) is included in the UC5 Spray Height
Control kit, in addition to the generic power cable included in this display kit. You may use
either cable for the installation.
5. Connect the power cable (C30) to one of the two CAN-bus connectors on the control module.
Connect the other end of the power cable to the auxiliary power outlet or a 15A, +12 VDC
source.
6. Connect cable C01 to the other CAN-bus connector and route the cable towards the rear of
the sprayer.

2.3 Pull Type: Control Module on Tractor
1. Securely mount the control module (E01) inside the tractor cab.
2. Tee the CAN-bus interface cable (C40) in to the John Deere CAN-bus. Connect the 6 pin
Deutsch plug on cable C40 to the end of the control module with only one Deutsch
connector.
3. Connect the power cable (C30) to one of the two CAN-bus connectors on the control module.
Connect the other end of the power cable to a 15A, +12 VDC source.
4. Connect cable C41 to the other CAN-bus connector and route the cable to the hitch of the
tractor.
5. Connect the two-way coupler (E12) to the end of cable C41.
6. Connect cable C01 to the coupler (E12) and route towards the rear of the sprayer. The two-
way coupler (E12) will provide the hitch disconnect.

2.4 Pull Type: Control Module on Sprayer
1. Securely mount the control module (E01) on the sprayer near the CAN-bus connection.
2. Tee the CAN-bus interface cable (C40) in to the John Deere CAN-bus. Connect the 6 pin
Deutsch plug on cable C40 to the end of the control module with only one Deutsch
connector.
3. Connect the power cable (C30) to one of the two CAN-bus connectors on the control module.
Connect the other end of the power cable to a 15A, +12 VDC source.
4. Connect cable C01 to the other CAN-bus connector and route the cable towards the rear of
the sprayer.

2.5 Switch Box Installation
1. Disconnect cable C20 (grey side connector) from the Input Module (E03). Remove the
wedge from the face of the 12 pin Deutsch plug.
2. Insert the Roll CW pin from C26 into position 3 of the 12 pin plug on C20. Insert the Roll
CCW pin from C26 into position 4 of the 12 pin plug on C20. Insert the wedge back into the
plug. Connect C20 to the grey side connector on the Input Module.
3. Connect the 12 pin Deutsch plug on C26 to the grey end connector on the input module.
Route the other end of the cable to the hitch of the sprayer (pull type) or to the cab (self
propelled).
4. Attach the switch box (C25) inside the cab and connect it to cable C26. An extra label is
provided with the switch box if you prefer to remove the switches from the housing and
mount them in the existing sprayer switch panel.
* Some sprayer types may not use all the switch functions.
* Refer to “Appendix A” for sprayers with European style slant control.

Appendix A: Alternate Configuration
If your sprayer has European style slant control, you will need to reconfigure the switch box as
shown below. This is only required for sprayer types which are driving the slant output from the
Input Module. Reconfigure the pins on cable C26 as follows:
