iTrax Spray Control and Monitor System
1Prepare to Install
1. Turn off control unit.
2. Install the iTrax SM, SC, and PRx
modules using the included instructions.
3. Turn off power to the control unit that
houses the spray units.
Install the Network Wiring
1. Install the network wiring and included
terminating resistor into the DB-9
connector.
2. Assemble the connector halves.
3. Disconnect the softing network
interface from the USB until after the
softing drivers are installed.

Install the Driver Software
The USB drive does not auto-start. Use
Start>Run to browse for CANSetup.exe on
the USB drive.
When the Softing CAN Interface
Manager appears (as shown),
select Close.

4. Connect the other end of the network
wiring to the main terminal block in the
control unit.
Refer to the system drawing for specific
wiring instructions.

Connect the Adapter
Connect the supplied USB cable between
the computer and the USB-to-CAN
adapter. Wait for Windows to display the
notification that the CAN driver has been
installed successfully.
Install the iTrax Software
Install the software on the iTrax spray
control and monitor system USB drive.
Select both the iTrax OPC Server and
CanWorks iTrax Local Client when
prompted.

Connect iTRAX
Connect the DB-9 connector to the USB-
to-CAN adapter.
Turn on power to the control unit.

Configure Hardware
1. Start the OPC Server and then the
OPC Local Client using the shortcuts on
the Windows desktop.
2. Select Help icon from the main
toolbar and select Display Help.
Calibrate Spray Monitors
When the coating system is producing
acceptable product, calibrate the spray
monitors and enable faults as needed.
NOTE: Refer to the Setup Procedure topic under
OI and Gun Setup to add guns and set up the
Operator Interface.
