Safety
WARNING:
 Safety glasses are to be worn at all tim es while installing, servicing, operating, or
observing equipm ent. The sudden release of air or fluid can cause dam age to eyes.
 Allow only qualified personnel to perform the following task s. Follow the safety
instructions in this document and all other related docum entation.
 Relieve s ystem air pressure, m aterial pressure, and disconnect power prior to
servicing Pro−Meter V2K com ponents.
 Clean any m aterial that has spilled. Be sure to follow all applicable safety and
environm ental guidelines when cleaning spilled m aterial.
WARNING: An y m aterial injected into flesh can cause severe injury or death. Keep bod y parts
away from m aterial discharge ports. If injection occurs, seek medical attention imm ediately.
WARNING: Operating faulty electrostatic equipm ent is hazardous and can cause electrocution,
fire, or explosion. Mak e resistance check s part of your periodic m aintenance program . If you
receive even a slight electrical shock or notice static spark ing or arcing, shut down all electrical
or electrostatic equipm ent immediately . Do not restart the equipment until the problem has been
identified and corrected.
WARNING: Relieve air and m aterial pressure when equipm ent is not in use for prolonged periods
of tim e. Do not allow pressure to rem ain static when equipm ent is idle as this m ay cause
material to pack and harden.

1. With the aid of an assistant, place Pro−Meter V2K system on a suitable work bench or table. Be sure
work bench or table is capable of safely supporting Pro−Meter V2K. The weight of the preassembled
Pro−Meter V2K is approximately 120 lbs. (54.4 kg). System dimensions are 30.38 inches (771.65 mm)
long x 17.37 inches (441.2 mm) wide x 11.88 inches (301.75 mm) tall.
1. Remove primary cover (1) and secondary cover (2) from Pro-Meter V2K.
2. Connect the HMI pendant harness male connectors to the P5 (blue) and P6 (red) female connectors
located at the power supply. Refer to the System Layout Drawing for additional information.
NOTE:
 The HMI pendant harness connectors are labeled P5 and P6 and are unique to the connectors
located on the power supply.
 Operator interface is conducted via the HMI pendant. The HMI pendant consists of a touchscreen
attached to the main body of the Pro-Meter V2K and has a 2 meter cord which plugs into the power
supply. The HMI pendant also has an emergency stop button. Once pressed, it will immediately halt
movement of the Pro-Meter V2K until the emergency stop button is manually pulled back out. This
serves to manually reset the Pro-Meter V2K.

Connect discharge port hoses to each metering cartridge assembly discharge port. Refer to the Pro-Meter
V2K Fittings Kit Instruction Sheet (Nordson part number 7441865) for additional information.
4. Mount dispense valve assembly to dispense valve support fixture (if equipped) and connect air and
material lines.
5. Install the mixer to the dispense valve. To support initial startup and testing, each Pro−Meter V2K system
is supplied with a Mixer Variety Kit. Refer to the Pro-Meter V2K Mixer Variety Kit Instruction Sheet
(Nordson part number 7441857) for additional information. To support ongoing operations and to provide
optimum dispense flexibility, a Mixer Startup Kit can be ordered. Refer to Pro-Meter V2K Mixer Selection
Guide Instruction Sheet (Nordson part number 7441862) for additional information.
6. Ensure the gravity tank gaskets are compatible with the selected material.
7. CAUTION:
 Ensure the gravity tank gasket is seated evenly at the bottom of the cam-lock.
 Confirm gasket compatibility with TDS and SDS or material supplier.
NOTE:
 The gravity tanks come equipped with nitrile (Buna-N®) gaskets.
 Each Pro-Meter V2K is shipped with a gravity tank gasket kit (Nordson part number 7440614). The
kit contains 2 EPDM gaskets (Nordson part number 7440611), 2 silicone gaskets (Nordson part
number 7440613), and 2 Viton® gaskets (Nordson part number 7440612).
 If the gravity tank gaskets are not compatible with the selected material, loosen the cam-lock fittings
located between the manual ball valve and actuated valve below the tanks and utilize a seal puller, or
equivalent tool, to remove the gravity tank gaskets. Carefully install the correct gravity tank gasket by
hand into the cam-lock.

8. Supply electrical power to the outlet (1) located at the power supply by utilizing the power cord
equipped with the Pro-Meter V2K system.
9. Supply air to Pro−Meter V2K via the air input port (1) located on the filter regulator assem bly. The fitting
which connects to the female 1/4 NPT port on the filter regulator assembly is customer supplied.
10. Switch Pro−Meter V2K power switch located at the power supply to the ON position.
NOTE: Refer to the Pro-Meter V2K Screen Map in Appendix A for additional information.
1. Proceed to Main Menu Screen.
2. Select SETUP LOGIN pushbutton to proceed to Setup Login Screen.
3. Log into the HMI Pendant using the default user name and password. The default user name is `2’. The
default password is also `2’.
NOTE:
 Proceed to Main Menu Screen.
 Select Setup Login pushbutton to proceed to Setup Login Screen.
 Select Level 2 Setup pushbutton to proceed to Level 2 Setup Screen.
 Select RESET PASSWORD pushbutton to proceed to Reset Password Screen.
 Select Reset Password pushbutton and follow prompts.

Gravity Feed and Cylinder Position Sensor Mode Enable
1. From the Main Menu Screen select the SETUP LOGIN pushbutton.
2. Proceed to the Level 2 Setup Screen and select OPTIONS SETUP.
3. Login and proceed to the Level 2 Setup Screen.
NOTE: Refer to Login and Calibration, System Login to review the login procedure.
4. From the Level 2 Setup Screen, proceed to the Options Setup Screen and turn ON the GRAVITY FEED
MODE and CYLINDER POSITION SENSOR ENABLE pushbuttons.
Cylinder Setup
1. From the Main Menu Screen select the SETUP LOGIN pushbutton and proceed to the Setup Login
Screen.
2. From the Setup Login Screen select the LEVEL 1 SETUP pushbutton to proceed to the Level 1 Setup
Menu Screen.
3. Once at the Level 1 Setup Menu Screen, select the STROKE SETUP pushbutton to proceed to the
Stroke Setup Screen.
4. Select the CYLINDER SETUP pushbutton to proceed to the Cylinder Setup Screen.
5. Enter the rod diameters for both sides of the meter in millimeters in the ROD DIAMETER (MM) data
entry fields.
NOTE: The DISPENSE AMOUNT PER SHOT data displays will populate once the rod diameters have
been entered.

Linear Position Sensor
1. Ensure the system pressure regulator is set to 80-100 psi (5.5 - 6.9 bar).
2. Utilize a 1/8 inch or 3 mm hex key to adjust the air cylinder flow controls.
WARNING:
Prior to initiating any adjustments, completely close the air cylinder flow controls.
Slowly open the flow controls at ¼ turn intervals until the desired flow rate is achieved.
3. From the Main Menu Screen, proceed to the Setup Login Screen, to the Level 1 Setup Screen, and then
to the Valve Setup Screen.
4. Hold the ADVANCE RODS push button until the metering cylinder carriage is fully forward. Then the
metering cylinder carriage is fully forward, the air cylinder has been fully retracted

5. With the stroke adjustment screw jam nut loosened, utilize a 6 mm wrench, or equivalent tool, to back up
the stroke stop block until the air cylinder is allowed to fully return as the RETURN RODS pushbutton is
depressed.
6. With the air cylinder fully extended, verify the existence of a small gap between the stop block and the
carriage stop bracket.
7. From the Valve Setup Screen, proceed to the Setup Login Screen and then to the Level 2 Setup Screen.

8. From the Level 2 Setup Screen proceed to the Position Sensor Calibration Screen and establish the
following values in the highlighted (yellow) data entry fields:
 Position Sensor Full Scale (mm) = 160.0
 Zero Offset (mm) = 0.0
 Bar Graph Max Pos (mm) = 144.0
 Bar Graph Min Pos (mm) = 0.0
9. With the rods fully advanced (air cylinder retracted) enter the number reflected by the CURRENT MA
READING data display into the FULL SCALE MM CAL VALVE data entry field.
NOTE: The linear position sensor should now be calibrated.
10. With the rods fully returned, utilize a 6 mm wrench, or equivalent tool, and close the gap between the
stop block and the carriage stop bracket.
NOTE: There should be an audible click just before the gap closes completely.
11. Turn OFF
MANUAL MODE via the Dispense 1 Screen.
12. Adjust the strike stop position via the strike screw nut until the strike stop position produces the desired
shot size.
13. Be sure to tighten the stroke adjustment screw jam nut.

Pressure Transducer Calibration
1. Obtain factory serial number from pressure transducer.
NOTE:
 Pressure transducers are individually calibrated and serial numbered at the factory.
 The serial number is stamped on the pressure transducer.
2. Utilize system supplied calibration record as a basis to enter control panel calibration data.
3. Turn OFF system power.
4. Install new pressure transducer.
5. Connect pressure transducer harness connector.
6. Turn ON the system power.
7. Log into HMI Pendant. Proceed System Login (above) for login information.
8. Ensure internal m eter pressure is at or near zero psi.
9. From the Main Menu Screen proceed to the Setup Login Screen, and then to the Level 2 Setup Screen.
10. Proceed to the Pressure Sensor Calibration Screen.
11. Enter the ‘0 psi Cal’ value and the ’Full Scale psi’ value (250 psi) from the calibration sheet.
12. Adjust the ’Zero Offset’ until the ’Scaled Pressure’ reads zero.
CAUTION: If the pressure transducer requires replacement, calibration information also has to be
entered into the Pressure Sensor Calibration HMI Screen.
Valve Open / Close Test
1. Ensure pressurized air is supplied to V2K meter.
NOTE:
 Supply the air input port located on the filter regulator assem bly.
 Minimum air pressure supplied is 80 psi (5.5 bar).
2. From the Main Menu Screen, proceed to the Setup Login Screen, and then to the Level 1 Setup Screen.
3. Proceed to the Valve Setup Screen.
4. Enable the OPEN INLET VALVES pushbutton.
NOTE: Both inlet valves should now be open. The inlet valves are open when the ball valve indicators
located just below the gravity tank are in a vertical position. The indicators are the red plastic pointers shown below.

5. Enable OPEN DISPENSE VALVE pushbutton.
Note: If utilizing a Nordson Sealant Equipment dispense valve, the internal piston should be retracted
(moved away from the dispense tip).
The Pro-Meter V2K has four operating modes, Auto Shot, Auto Flow, Manual Shot, and Manual Flow.
Selection of these modes occurs via the Dispense 1 Screen. However, Auto Flow mode is only available
when the Pro-Meter V2K is controlled by an outside robot (Interlock Mode).
Manual Mode
In manual mode, the system will fault out when the fault limit is reached. If PURGE WARNING TIME has
been set, the system will fault when the fault limit is reached. A purge cycle as opposed to a dispense cycle
will be run. The purge timer will then reset.
Manual Shot Mode - When the dispense command is given, either by the foot switch or the DISPENSE
pushbutton on the Dispense 1 Screen, the Pro-Meter V2K will dispense one complete stroke. The stroke
length is established mechanically. Refer to Stroke Length Setup (below) for additional information.
Manual Flow Mode - The meter will continue to dispense and reload as long as the foot switch or the
DISPENSE pushbutton on the Dispense 1 Screen is pressed.
Auto Shot Mode - Auto Shot mode is similar to Manual Shot mode. However, this mode allows the meter to
dispense and reload multiple strokes, depending on the value established in the SHOTS PER CYCLE data
entry field on the Stroke Setup Screen. If the number entered into the SHOTS PER CYCLE field is 1, Auto
Shot and Manual Shot modes will function identically.

tell it what to do. The machine interlock signals are received via the P2 port located on the power supply.
MACHINE INTERLOCK MODE must be selected on the Options Setup Screen to enable Auto Flow Mode.
Refer to the Customer Product Manual (Section 3 - Meter Connections) for additional information regarding
how to wire the Pro-Meter V2K to an external control source.
Automatic Purge Function
Auto Mode
The automatic purge function only works in Auto Shot or Auto Flow Mode.
There are two distinct ways to have the Pro-Meter V2K auto purge. Refer to the System Layout Drawing
below with respect to Options 1 and 2.
Option 1 (Preferred): Customer will obtain a SPST-NO, spring return, momentary contact switch, 24VDC limit
switch.
The limit switch serves as a safety device allowing the meter to automatically purge only if the dispense
applicator is holstered and/or mounted to a suitable purge container. Incorporation of the limit switch protects
equipment and prevents injury to the operator (+bystanders) once a purge cycle has commenced. The limit
switch is used in conjunction with a purge cord (Nordson part number 7431013). With system power OFF,
connect the purge cord male connector to the P3 connector of the Pro-Meter V2K meter power supply.
Remove the female connector from the purge cord and wire the blue and black wires to the limit switch. The
brown and white wires will not be utilized. Refer to the purge cord pin layout shown below. Contact the Global
Business Services Group (+.800.433.9319) or your local Nordson Sealant Equipment Representative to order
the purge cord.
Option 2: The customer purchases a jumper kit (Nordson part number 7442948) and manually installs a
jumper to pins 3 and 4 of the purge ok splitter (Nordson part number 7440843) which is connected to the P3
connector of the Pro-Meter V2K meter power supply. The jumper kit consists of an instruction sheet, jumper
(wire), and cap (to protect the bridged connection). Contact the Global Business Services Group
(+.800.433.9319) or your local Nordson Sealant Equipment Representative to order the jumper kit.
WARNING: Extreme caution must be observed when utilizing the jumper kit to initiate the automatic
purge function. Utilization of the jumper kit bypasses existing safety interlocks and can damage
equipment or inflict bodily injury. Always wear safety glasses and other protective clothing. Refer to
the Safety Section outlined in the Pro-Meter V2K Customer Product Manual for additional information.
In addition to determining which option (above) to undertake to auto purge, additional considerations must be
made. First, determine the gel time of the material. Next, establish the volume of the mixer utilized and
determine how many strokes the purge cycle will require. From the Main Menu Screen proceed to the Setup
Login Screen and then to the Level 1 Setup Screen. Proceed to the Purge Setup Screen and enter the gel
time in the PURGE FAULT TIME data entry field (minutes and seconds). Specify the number of purge cycles
in the SHOTS PER PURGE data entry field. Also, specify the PURGE WARNING TIME which refers to the

Auto Flow Mode - While in this mode, the Pro-Meter V2K is completely dependent on an outside source to

period the operator is warned that they are approaching the PURGE FAULT TIME.
Return to the Main Menu Screen and then proceed to the Dispense 1 Screen. Next, proceed to the Purge
Control
Screen to setup the purge timer. When the PURGE TIMER pushbutton is turned OFF, the meter will not
purge or fault. The Pro-Meter V2K will remain operational unless some other fault interferes with operation.
When the PURGE TIMER is turned ON, the TIME LEFT TO PURGE will be displayed. While in Manual
Mode, the system will fault once the FAULT LIMIT is reached. A purge cycle as opposed to a dispense cycle
will be run. The purge timer will then reset.

Stroke Length Setup
1. Determine how much material is needed per dispense cycle (cc).
NOTE: For example, let’s assume 75cc per shot is needed. As one complete cycle dispenses 51.3cc, it
will require more than one stoke to reach the desired shot size. In this case, proceed from the Main
Menu Screen to the Setup Login Screen, and then to the Level 1 Setup Screen. Once at the Level 1
Setup Screen establish the following values:
 SHOTS PER CYCLE = 2
 DISPENSE POSITION = 0
 RELOAD POS (MM) = 105.2 (In this instance, the default value 144.0 has been changed to 105.2
so that the TOTAL TO DISPENSE data display equals as close to 75cc as possible.
Stroke Setup
2. From the Level 1 Setup Screen, proceed to the Valve Setup Screen.
3. Depress the ADVANCE RODS pushbutton until the air cylinder is fully retracted.
Stroke Length Setup
1. Determine how much material is needed per dispense cycle (cc).
NOTE: For example, let’s assume 75cc per shot is needed. As one complete cycle dispenses 51.3cc, it
will require more than one stoke to reach the desired shot size. In this case, proceed from the Main
Menu Screen to the Setup Login Screen, and then to the Level 1 Setup Screen. Once at the Level 1
Setup Screen establish the following values:
 SHOTS PER CYCLE = 2
 DISPENSE POSITION = 0
 RELOAD POS (MM) = 105.2 (In this instance, the default value 144.0 has been changed to 105.2
so that the TOTAL TO DISPENSE data display equals as close to 75cc as possible.

4. Utilizing a tape measure, or equivalent tool, measure the distance between the stop block and the
carriage stop angle.
5. Loosen the stroke adjustment screw jam nut and utilize a 6 mm wrench, or equivalent tool, and move
the stop block until the gap is as close to 4.14 inch (10.52 cm).
NOTE: It may be necessary to make further adjustments to fine tune the dispense volume. It is also
possible to establish stroke length without removing the Pro-Meter V2K cover. Slotted marks appear on
the top of the meter cover. Each hash mark represents 10% stroke. The photo below depicts 68% of full
stroke.

6. Be sure to tighten the stroke adjustment screw jam nut.
7. Add
m aterial to the gravity tanks.
CAUTION:
 Ensure the manual ball valves located just below the gravity tanks are CLOSED. When the ball
valves are CLOSED, the handles are horizontal.
 Fill each tank with at least a gallon of pourable material.
 If you have a gravity tank system, the dispense material should be pourable. If the material is
particularly viscous, wait several hours to allow ingested air to emerge.
1. Install 6 to 8 inches (15 to 20 cm) of ¼ inch clear tubing to the bleed valve located on the high and low
volume metering cartridge assembly.
CAUTION: Utilize a cup, or suitable container, to collect bled m aterial.
NOTE: It is possible to add bled material back into the tank(s).
2. Utilizing the HMI pendant, proceed to the Level 1 Setup Screen and then to the Valve Setup Screen.
Place the carriage in the METER FULL POSITION.
 Select Open Inlet Valves pushbutton.
 Select the Return Rods pushbutton to place the carriage in the METER FULL POSITION.
3. Position the ball valves located just below the gravity tanks to the OPEN position.
NOTE: When the ball valves are OPEN, the handles are vertical.
4. Open bleed valves located on the
metering cartridge assem blies.
CAUTION: Bleed one side of the meter before proceeding to the next.
NOTE: Open the bleed ports with a 7/16 inch wrench or a screwdriver.
5. Allow material to flow until air bubbles are no longer observed in the clear tubing.
Bleed Procedure
NOTE: It may take longer to bleed viscous material.
6. Close bleed valves located on the
metering cartridge assem blies.
7. Proceed to the
Dispense 1 Screen and note the following:
CAUTION: Utilize a cup, or suitable container, to collect bled m aterial.
 Select Manual Mode pushbutton.
 Dispense m aterial via the dispense valve until air is no longer observed.
 Proceed to Valve Setup Screen.
 Place carriage in METER FULL POSITION. See Step 2.
8. Repeat steps 2 through 7 until air is fully bled from system .
9. Run a series of shots through material through the dispense valve to eliminate remaining air pockets.

Lead/Lag
Calibration
NOTE: It may be necessary to adjust lead/lead calibration in instances where there is an extreme
difference in viscosity regarding high and low volume materials. Adjustm ent of lead/lag calibration optimizes
the m ix of material.
1. Loosen lead/lag jam nut (1).
2. Adjust lead/lag nut (2).
3. Tighten lead/lag jam nut (1) until it is snug.
4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 until optimal m aterial mix is achieved.
Flow And Volume Adjustment
Linear Speed Control Calibration
1. Utilize a 1/8 inch or 3 mm hex key, adjust the air cylinder flow control valve in the open position.
WARNING: Slowly adjust the flow control valve at ¼ turn intervals until the desired dispense speed is
obtained.
NOTE: The air cylinder flow control valve
m ust be in the open position to accommodate functioning
of the linear speed control. The flow control valve positioned closest to the gravity tank
bracket is utilized to control the dispense speed.
2. Set the linear speed control dial to 0.
3. Adjust the linear speed control dial until the desired
dispense speed is obtained.

Low Level Sensor Calibration
NOTE: Low level sensors are able to be equipped on Pro-Meter V2K systems with gravity tanks.
CAUTION: Ensure dispense material added to the gravity tanks is at least 1 inch (25.4 mm) higher than the
low level sensors.
1. Utilize a small flat head screwdriver to gently pry open low level sensor adjustment screw access cover
(B).
2. Turn low level sensor adjustment screw (A) slowly counter-clockwise with a small flat-head screwdriver
until the sensor turns ON.
3. Turn low level sensor adjustment screw (A) slowly clockwise with a small flat-head screwdriver until the
sensor turns OFF.
4. From the position where the sensor turns OFF, turn the low level sensor adjustment screw (A) an
additional half rotation (180 degrees) clockwise with a small flat-head screwdriver.
