Safety Precautions
This product is not designed for use with
profiling/adjustable beds.
Please ensure the user does not exceed
the maximum user weight:
190kg (30 stones).
Ensure the mattress is resting firmly against
the bed stick handle.
Check the bed stick is in the correct
position and is stable and secure before
use.
Important safety note:
The user (from a lying position) should be able
to reach the bed stick handle without
stretching, but the handle must never be
placed in a position too close to the headboard
to cause a risk of head entrapment.
The position of the Bed stick should be based
on a clinical assessment.

Intended Use
The NRS Standard Bed Stick provides a stable
support to help clients move themselves to a
sitting position and assist them getting in and
out of bed. This device is suitable for both
divan and slatted domestic beds and is
suitable for all bed sizes from single to king-
size.
Unpacking
This product requires assembly before use.
No tools are required.
Remove the product from its packaging
Check for damage. If you see any, or
suspect a fault, do not assemble, contact
your supplier immediately.

Assembly Instructions
Assemble the Bed Stick by sliding the two
chrome extension Tubes into the Long Bed
Stick handle select the correct holes to suit
the bed size, and secure with e-clips.
Place the bed stick onto the bed base,
position the device (which should ideally be
based on a clinical assessment) such that
when placed under the mattress with the
handle fitted, the client (from a lying position)
should be able to reach the handle without
stretching. Please also refer to the important
safety note for positioning instructions.
Ensure the mattress is resting firmly against
the Bed Stick Handles, to prevent the risk of
entrapment.
Note the Handles can be reversed if not
required on the opposite side of the bed, see
diagram below (divan beds only.)

Product Maintenance & Cleaning
Instructions
Clean regularly, wiping down with a soft
cloth and a mild detergent/disinfectant
solution
Do not use abrasive cleaners
This product can be autoclaved up to 80ºC
Inspect on a regular basis the stability and
rigidity of the product.
Check clips are fitted correctly and the
product is positioned correctly on the bed.
