Safety Information,
120-Volt Models
Your OKI product has been carefully designed to give you
years of safe, reliable performance. As with all electrical
equipment, there are a few basic precautions you should
take to avoid hurting yourself or damaging the product.
Carefully read the provided setup and operating
instructions.
Save all provided documentation for future reference.
Read and follow all warning and instruction labels on the
product itself.
Unplug the product before you clean it. Use only a damp
cloth; do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
Place your product on a rm, solid surface. If you put
it on something unsteady, it may fall and be damaged.
If you place it on a soft surface, such as a rug, sofa, or
cushion, the vents may be blocked, causing the product
to overheat.
Protect your product from overheating. Make sure no
obstructions block the openings of the product. Do not
put the product on or near a heat source (such as a
radiator or heat register). Keep the product out of direct
sunlight.
Always use this product in a well ventilated area.
Allow enough room around the product for adequate
ventilation and easy access to the paper trays. If you
put the product in any kind of enclosure, make sure the
enclosure is well ventilated.
Do not use your product near water. Do not spill liquid of
any kind into it.
Be certain that your power source matches the rating
listed on the back of the product. If you are not
sure, check with your dealer or with your local power
company.
Do not connect this product to an uninterruptible power
supply (UPS). For further information please contact Oki
Data at 1-800-OKI-DATA.
Your product has a grounded, three-prong plug as a
safety feature. This plug only ts into a grounded outlet.
If the plug does not t, the outlet may be an older,
non-grounded type. Contact an electrician to have the
outlet replaced. Do not use an adapter to defeat the
grounding.
Install the product near an easily accessed power outlet.
Avoid damaging the power cord. Do not put anything
on it or place it where it will be walked on. If the cord
becomes damaged or frayed, replace it immediately.
If you are using an extension cord or power strip with
the product, make sure that the total of the amperes
required by all the equipment on the extension is less
than the extension’s rating. The total ratings of all
equipment plugged into the outlet should not exceed 15
amperes.

Do not poke anything into the ventilation slots of the
product. You could get an electrical shock or cause
hazardous electrical arcing, which could cause a re.
Aside from the routine maintenance described in the
documentation, do not try to service the product
yourself. Removing the cover may expose you to shocks
or other hazards.
Do not make any adjustments other than those
outlined in the documentation. You may cause damage
that will require extensive repair work. The provided
documentation explains how to get your product
serviced by qualied Oki Data technicians.
If anything happens that indicates that your product is
not working properly or has been damaged, unplug it
immediately and follow the procedures in the provided
documentation for having your product serviced.
Here are some of the things to look for.
The power cord or plug is frayed or damaged.
Liquid has been spilled into the product, or the product
has been exposed to water.
The product has been dropped, or the cabinet is
damaged.
The product does not function normally when you are
following the operating instructions.
Additional Safety Information for Tele-
communications Equipment
When using your telephone equipment, basic safety
precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk
of re, electric shock and injury to persons, including the
following:
Do not use this product near water—for example, near a
bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink or laundry tub—in a wet
basement, or near a swimming pool.
Avoid using a telephone (other than a cordless type)
during an electrical storm. There may be a remote risk
of electric shock from lightning.
Do not use the telephone to report a gas leak in the
vicinity of the leak.
Use only the power cord and batteries indicated in this
manual. Do not dispose of batteries in a re. They may
explode. Check with local codes for possible special
disposal instructions.

Limited Warranty, US and Canada
U.S. and Canada only
Oki Data Americas, Inc. (Oki Data) warrants this MC160n
MFP (hereinafter “the Product”) to be free from defects in
material and workmanship and will remedy any such defect
according to, the terms of this Limited Warranty.
Oki Data will repair or at its option, replace, with the same
or its functional equivalent, at no charge, any defective
component(s) of the Product for one (1) year from the date
of purchase.
This Limited Warranty only extends to the original
purchaser of the warranted item. This Limited Warranty is
not transferable. This Limited Warranty does not extend
to consumable items or supplies, such as toner cartridges,
image drums, ribbon cartridges, fuses, etc.
Overnight Exchange
US and Canada Only
Oki Data offers Overnight Exchange of the Product
under this Limited Warranty. Overnight Exchange is only
available in the United States and Canada and it does
not include the replacement or repair of the Product’s
consumable items or supplies.
If you choose to use our Overnight Exchange service,
call 1-800-654-3282 (1-800-OKI-DATA): our trained
personnel will try to solve your problem over the
phone. If they determine that your Product hardware is
defective, an exchange product will be shipped to you
via overnight carrier. Have your credit card available as
our representative will be asking for this information.
You will receive the exchange product the next business
day--or no later than the second business day.
Return the original Product to Oki Data by using the
same packaging materials you received with the
exchange product. The Product to be returned must be
made available for pickup by Oki Data’s representative
within two (2) business days of your receipt of the
exchange product: failure to do so may result in your
being charged the full price of the exchange unit.
Before you ship the Product, remove the toner/drum
assemblies to prevent damage to the Product during
shipment: failure to do so may result in your credit card
being charged for cleaning and/or repairs to the Product.
When Overnight Exchange is used, the returned machine
becomes the property of Oki Data, once it has been
picked up by Oki Data or its representative. Exchange
machines may be new or reconditioned, at the option of
Oki Data: the exchange machine becomes the property
of the customer when the returned machine has been
picked up by Oki Data’s designated carrier.
The exchange printer will be warranted for thirty (30)
days or the remaining warranty period of the returned
Product, whichever is longer.
To make a request or claim for service under this Limited
Warranty contact your local Oki Data authorized service
center, Oki Data at 1-800-654-3282 (1-800-OKI-DATA), or
www.okiprintingsolutions.com.
A written receipt for the Product, showing the date of
purchase, dealer’s name, and both the model and serial
numbers of this Product must accompany any request
or claim for work to be performed under this Limited
Warranty.
This Limited Warranty shall not apply to normal wear and
tear and shall not apply if the Product has been damaged
due to abuse, misuse, misapplication, accident, improper
storage, or installation, an unsuitable physical operating
environment, or as a result of service or modication by
any other than an authorized Oki Data service center.
THERE ARE NO EXPRESS WARRANTIES OTHER THAN
THOSE ON THE FACE HEREOF AND DESCRIBED
ABOVE. NO WARRANTIES WHETHER EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY
IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SHALL
EXTEND BEYOND THE RESPECTIVE WARRANTY
PERIODS DESCRIBED ABOVE.
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an
implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not
apply to you.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OKI DATA OR ITS AFFILIATES
BE LIABLE TO A PURCHASER OR ANY OTHER PERSON
FOR SPECIAL, COLLATERAL, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL
OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES INCLUDING LOST
PROFITS, BUSINESS REVENUE, GOODWILL OR
ANTICIPATED SAVINGS IN CONNECTION WITH OR
ARISING OUT OF THE PURCHASE OR USE OF THE OKI
DATA PRODUCT, WHETHER ARISING IN CONTRACT
OR IN TORT, WHETHER OR NOT CUSTOMER SHALL
HAVE INFORMED OKI DATA OF THE POSSIBILITY OR
LIKELIHOOD OF ANY SUCH DAMAGES.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation
of incidental or consequential damages, so the above
exclusion may not apply to you.

Requirements for End Users
This device has been granted a registration number by the
Administrative Council for Terminal Attachment (ACTA),
under Part 68 and ACTA rules and regulations for direct
connection to the telephone lines. In order to comply
with these FCC rules, the following instructions must be
carefully read and applicable portions followed completely.
This equipment complies with Part 68 of FCC rules and
the requirements adopted by the ACTA. On the back
of the equipment is a label that contains, among other
information, a product identier in the format US:
AAAEQ##TXXXX. If requested, this information may
need to be supplied for the telephone.

modular plug is provided with this product. It is de-
signed to be connected to a compatible modular jack
that is also compliant. See installation instructions for

The REN is used to determine the quantity of devices
which may be connected to the telephone line. Ex-
cessive RENs on the telephone line may result in the
devices not ringing in response to an incoming call. In
most, but not all areas, the sum of the RENs should not
exceed ve (5.0). To be certain of the number of de-
vices that may be connected to the line, as determined
by the total RENs, contact the local telephone company.
For products approved after July 23, 2001, the REN for
this product is part of the product identier that has the
format US:AAAEQ##TXXXX. The digits represented by
## are the REN without a decimal point (e.g., 03 is a
REN of 0.3). For earlier products, the REN is separately
shown on the label.
If the equipment, MC160n MFP, causes harm to the
telephone network, the telephone company will notify

Informations sur la sécurité,

Votre produit OKI a été conçue avec soin pour vous fournir
des années de rendement sûr et able. Comme pour tout
matériel électrique, un certain nombre de précautions de
base doivent être observées pour vous protéger de toute
blessure ou éviter tout dommage à le produit.
Lisez attentivement les directives d’installation et
d’utilisation fournies.
Conservez tous les documents pour ns de référence
future.
Lisez et observez les avertissements et directives des
étiquettes apposés sur le produit.
Débranchez le produit avant de la nettoyer. Utilisez
uniquement un chiffon humide; n’utilisez pas de
nettoyants liquides ou en aérosol.
Placez le produit sur une surface stable et solide. Sur
une surface instable, le produit peut tomber et être
endommagée. Évitez toute surchauffe de le produit.
Ne la placez pas sur une surface souple, comme une
couverture, un divan ou un coussin. Les aérateurs
pourraient être obstrués et provoquer une surchauffe de
le produit.
Protégez le produit contre la surchauffe. Vériez
qu’aucun aérateur n’est obstrué. Ne placez pas le
produit sur une source de chaleur (p. ex., radiateur ou
grille de chauffage) ou à proximité de celle ci. Protégez
le produit contre les rayons du soleil.
Utilisez toujours le produit dans un endroit bien ventilé.
Prévoyez assez d’espace autour de le produit pour
assurer une ventilation adéquate et un accès facile aux
bacs à papier. Si vous placez le produit dans une armoire
d’une quelconque nature, assurez-vous qu’elle est bien
ventilée.
N’utilisez pas le produit à proximité d’un point d’eau.
Évitez de renverser quelque liquide que ce soit sur le
produit.
Assurez-vous que la source d’alimentation correspond
aux exigences indiquées à l’arrière de le produit. En
cas de doute, communiquez avec votre détaillant ou
fournisseur d’électricité.
Ne branchez pas ce produit dans un système

Pour des raisons de sécurité, le produit possède
une prise à trois broches de mise à la terre. Elle ne
s’adapte qu’à une prise murale reliée à la terre. Si
vous ne pouvez pas la brancher, votre prise de courant
est sans doute un ancien modèle sans prise de terre.
Communiquez avec un électricien pour la remplacer par
une prise mise à la terre. N’utilisez pas d’adaptateur
pour contourner la mise à la terre.

Le produit doit être installée à proximité d’une prise de
courant aisément accessible.
Évitez d’endommager le cordon d’alimentation. Évitez de
posez quoi que ce soit sur le cordon d’alimentation ou
de le placer dans une zone de passage. Si le câble est
endommagé ou efloché, remplacez-le immédiatement.
Si vous utilisez une rallonge électrique ou une barre
d’alimentation avec le produit, assurez-vous que

équipement.
N’enfoncez aucun objet dans les fentes de ventilation
situées sur les côtés de ll produit, au risque d’être
électrocuté ou de provoquer un incendie.
À l’exception de l’entretien de routine décrit dans la
documentation, n’effectuez aucune réparation sur le
produit. L’ouverture du capot peut vous exposer à des
risques d’électrocution ou autres.
N’effectuez aucun réglage autre que ceux indiqués
dans la documentation. Vous pourriez provoquer
des dommages à l’appareil nécessitant de lourdes
réparations. La documentation fournie contient les
informations requises pour faire réparer votre produit
par des techniciens qualiés Oki Data.
Si vous constatez le moindre signe indiquant le
fonctionnement inadéquat de le produit ou que celle-
ci a été endommagée, débranchez-la immédiatement
et observez ensuite la procédure décrite dans la
documentation fournie pour faire réparer le produit.
Vériez notamment les éléments suivants :
Le câble d’alimentation est endommagé ou efloché.
Du liquide a été renversé dans le produit, ou le produit a
été en contact avec de l’eau.
Le produit est tombée ou son boîtier a été endommagé.
Le produit ne fonctionne pas normalement après avoir
suivi les directives d’utilisation.

Oki Data Americas, Inc. (Oki Data) garantit que
l’imprimante MC160n MFP (ci-après nommée l’« le
Produit ») ne présente aucun défaut de matériel ni de
fabrication, et qu’elle remédiera à tout défaut de ce type
conformément aux conditions de la présente Garantie
limitée.
Oki Data réparera ou, à sa discrétion, remplacera toute
pièce défectueuse de l’Produit avec la même ou son
équivalent fonctionnel, et ce, sans frais, pendant une
période de un (1) an à partir de la date d’achat de
l’Imprimante.
La présente Garantie limitée s’applique uniquement à
l’acheteur d’origine du produit sous garantie. La présente
Garantie limitée n’est pas transférable. La présente
Garantie limitée ne couvre pas les consommables et les
fournitures, notamment cartouches de toner, tambours
d’impression, rubans, fusibles, etc.
Échange le lendemain
États-Unis et Canada uniquement
Oki Data offre un service d’échange le lendemain de
l’Produit dans le cadre de la présente Garantie limitée.
Le service d’échange le lendemain est seulement offert
aux États-Unis et au Canada et ne comprend pas le
remplacement ou la réparation des consommables ou
des fournitures de l’Produit.
Si vous désirez utiliser le service d’échange le
lendemain, composez le 1 800 654-3282 (1 800 OKI-
DATA) : notre personnel qualié tentera de résoudre
votre problème par téléphone. S’il est déterminé que
l’Produit est défectueuse, une Produit de remplacement
vous sera envoyée par messagerie le lendemain. Ayez
votre carte de crédit en main car notre représentant
aura besoin de cette information. Vous recevrez une
Produit de remplacement le jour ouvrable suivant — ou
au plus tard le deuxième jour ouvrable.
Vous devez retourner l’Produit défectueuse à Oki
Data en l’emballant dans l’emballage de l’Produit de
remplacement L’Produit à retourner doit être prête
lorsque le représentant de Oki Data passera la cueillir,
soit dans un délai de deux (2) jours ouvrables suivant
la réception de l’Produit de remplacement. Si vous ne
respectez pas cette procédure, le prix de l’Produit de
remplacement vous sera facturé.
An d’éviter d’endommager l’Produit durant l’expédition,
retirer l’assemblage toner/tambour avant de l’expédier.
Si vous ne le faites pas, des frais de nettoyage et/ou
de réparation peuvent être facturés sur votre carte de
crédit.
Lorsque le service d’échange le lendemain est utilisé,
l’Produit retournée devient la propriété de Oki Data,
une fois celle-ci cueillie par Oki Data ou un de ses
représentants. Les Produits de remplacement peuvent, à
la discrétion d’Oki Data, être neuves ou remises à neuf :
l’Produit de remplacement devient la propriété du client
lorsque le service de messagerie choisi par Oki Data a
cueilli l’Produit retournée.
L’unité de remplacement et elle est garantie durant
trente (30) jours ou durant le reste de la période de
garantie de l’unité retournée, selon le délai le plus long.
Pour formuler une demande de réparation ou une
réclamation en vertu de la présente Garantie limitée,
communiquez avec le centre de réparation agréé Oki
Data de votre voisinage ou avec Oki Data en composant
le 1-800-654-3282 (1-800-OKI-DATA) ou www.
okiprintingsolutions.com.
Toute demande de réparation ou réclamation formulée au
titre de la présente Garantie limitée doit être accompagnée
d’un reçu indiquant la date d’achat, le nom du revendeur, le
modèle ainsi que le numéro de série de l’Produit.
La présente Garantie limitée ne s’applique à toute
Produit ayant subit une usure normale, et ne s’applique
pas si l’Produit a été endommagé suite à un emploi
abusif, à un mauvais usage, à un emploi injustié, à un
incident, au stockage inapproprié ou à une installation
physique inadéquate ou à une utilisation/stockage dans
un environnement inapproprié, ou si ce dommage est le
résultat d’une intervention ou d’une modication apportée
par un centre de réparation quelconque autre qu’un centre
de réparation agréé Oki Data.

La che et la prise utilisées pour connecter l’équipement
au câblage d’un réseau ou d’une installation télépho-
nique doivent être conformes aux règlements et exi-
gences applicables de la partie 68 de la FCC et des
exigences adoptées par l’ACTA. Un câble téléphonique
et une che modulaire conformes sont fournis avec
le produit. Il est conçu pour être branché à une prise
modulaire compatible également conforme. Voyez les

Le REN sert à déterminer le nombre d’appareils pouvant
être connectés à une même ligne téléphonique. Il est
possible que la sonnerie de plusieurs dispositifs ne soit
pas déclenchée par un appel entrant lorsqu’un nombre
total d’IES branchés à la ligne téléphonique est excessif.
Dans la plupart des zones (mais pas toutes), la somme
des REN ne doit pas dépasser cinq (5,0). Pour être
certain du nombre d’appareils pouvant être connecté à
une ligne, soit le total des REN, contactez la compagnie
téléphonique locale. Pour les produits approuvés après
