はじめに
 お使いになる前に
製品の取り扱いは、適切な資格を有する人が行なってください。
お使いになる前に、「安全上のご注意」をよくお読みのうえ、正しくお使いく
ださい。
製品内部の点検や修理が必要なときは、お買い上げになった支店・営業所
にご連絡ください。
この製品は、一般的な産業機器用として設計されています。その他の用途に
は使用しないでください。この警告を無視した結果生じた損害の補償につい
ては、当社は一切その責任を負いませんので、あらかじめご了承ください。
 規格・CE マーキング
モーターは下記の規格にしたがって設計・検査を行なっており、認証を取得
しています。認証品名は、モーター品名です。
モーターは低電圧指令に適合しています。

• 爆発性雰囲気、引火性ガスの雰囲気、腐食性の雰囲気、水のかかる場
所、可燃物のそばでは使用しないでください。火災・感電・けがの原因に
なります。
• 設置、接続、運転・操作、点検・故障診断の作業は、適切な資格を有す
る人が行なってください。火災・感電・けがの原因になります。
• 通電状態で移動、設置、接続、点検の作業をしないでください。電源を
切ってから作業してください。感電の原因になります。
• 電磁ブレーキを制動、安全ブレーキとして使用しないでください。可動部
およびモーターの位置保持用です。けが・装置破損の原因になります。
• モーターはクラスⅠ機器です。設置するときは、手がモーターに触れない
ようにするか、接地してください。感電の原因になります。
• モーターは筐体内に設置してください。感電・けがの原因になります。
• 電源入力電圧は、定格値を必ず守ってください。火災・感電の原因にな
ります。
• 接続図にもとづき、確実に接続してください。火災・感電の原因になりま
す。
• リード線（ケーブル）を無理に曲げたり、引っ張ったり、はさみ込まないでく
ださい。火災・感電の原因になります。
• 付属のコンデンサの接続端子は絶縁処理してください。感電の原因にな
ります。
• 停電したときは、電源を切ってください。停電復旧時にモーターが突然起
動して、けが・装置破損の原因になります。
• 電源を切った直後（30 秒以内）は、コンデンサの接続端子に触れないで
ください。残留電圧により、感電の原因になります。
• モーターを分解・改造しないでください。感電・けがの原因になります。

• モーターの仕様値を超えて使用しないでください。感電・けが・装置破損
の原因になります。
• 運転中および停止後しばらくの間は、モーターに触れないでください。
モーターの表面が高温のため、やけどの原因になります。
• モーター出力軸を持たないでください。けがの原因になります。
• モーターの周囲には、可燃物を置かないでください。火災・やけどの原因
になります。
• モーターの周囲には、通風を妨げる障害物を置かないでください。装置
破損の原因になります。
• 運転中は回転部（出力軸）に触れないでください。けがの原因になりま
す。
• 異常が発生したときは、ただちに電源を切ってください。火災・感電・けが
の原因になります。
• モーターは、正常な運転状態でも、表面温度が 70 °C を
超えることがあります。運転中のモーターに接近できるとき
は、図の警告ラベルをはっきり見える位置に貼ってくださ
い。やけどの原因になります。

∗ 品名およびモーター品名は歯切りシャフトタイプです。丸シャフトタイプの
場合、品名およびモーター品名の「GN」は「A」になります。
設 置
 設置場所
風通しがよく、点検が容易な次のような場所に設置してください。
• 屋内に設置された筐体内（換気口を設けてください）
• 使用周囲温度 −10～+40 °C（凍結しないこと）
100 V／200 V 運転時は−10～+50 °C
• 使用周囲湿度 85%以下（結露しないこと）
• 爆発性雰囲気、有害なガス（硫化ガスなど）、および液体のないところ
• 直射日光が当たらないところ
• 塵埃や鉄粉などの少ないところ
• 水（雨や水滴）、油（油滴）、およびその他の液体がかからないところ
• 塩分の少ないところ
• 連続的な振動や過度の衝撃が加わらないところ
• 電磁ノイズ（溶接機、動力機器など）が少ないところ
• 放射性物質や磁場がなく、真空でないところ
• 標高 1000 m 以下
重要 ギヤヘッドからまれにグリースがにじみ出ることがあります。グ
リース漏れによる周囲環境の汚染が問題となる場合には、定期
点検時にグリースのにじみをチェックしてください。または、油受
けなどの損害防止装置を取り付けてください。油漏れでお客様
の装置や製品等に不具合を発生させる原因になります。
 モーターの設置
• 丸シャフトタイプ
取付板に穴をあけ、ねじ、ナット、座金を使用して、モーターを取付板に固
定してください。（取付用のねじは付属していません。）
このとき、モーター取付面と取付板にすき間がないようにしてください。

重要 モーターを取付穴へ斜めに挿入したり、無理に組み付けないでく
ださい。フランジインローに傷が付いて、モーターが破損するお

• コンビタイプ
取付板に穴をあけ、付属のねじ（4本）を使用して、モーターとギヤヘッドを
取付面に固定してください。
このとき、設置する取付面との間にすき間がないようにしてください。

 ギヤヘッドの取り外し・取り付け
ギヤヘッドを取り外し、ケーブルグランドの位置を 90°単位で変えられます。
ギヤヘッドを交換するときも同じ手順です。
1. モーターとギヤヘッドを組み付けてい
る六角穴付ボルト（2本）を外し、モー
ターをギヤヘッドから取り外します。

2. モーターとギヤヘッドのインローをガイドにして、ギヤヘッドをモーターに
取り付けます。
このとき、ケーブルグランドの位置を 90°単位で変えられます。モーター
出力軸の歯切り部分がギヤヘッドの側板やギヤに当たらないよう、ギヤ
ヘッドをゆっくり左右に回しながら取り付けてください。
フランジ面の Oリングは脱落しないような構造になっていますが、万一外
れた際は、フランジ溝部にしっかりと装着してください。
また、モーターのフランジ面とギヤヘッドのインロー端面にすき間がない
ことを確認してください。

モーターとギヤヘッドを組み付けた後は、「コンビタイプ」と同様に取付ね
じを使用して設置してください。
重要 • モーターとギヤヘッドを無理に組み付けないでください。また、
金属片などの異物をギヤヘッド内部に入れないでください。
モーター出力軸の歯切りやギヤに傷が付き、異常音や寿命
低下などの原因になります。
• モーターとギヤヘッドのインローにゴミなどを付着させないでく
ださい。ギヤヘッド内部からグリースが漏れる原因になりま
す。
• モーターとギヤヘッドを組み付けている六角穴付ボルトは、
モーターとギヤヘッドを仮に固定するためのものです。設置す
るときは、必ず付属の取付ねじ（4本）を使用してください。
 歯切りシャフトタイプ
歯切りシャフトタイプのモーターは、ギヤヘッドを取り付けて使用します。
上図を参考にしてください。
 コンデンサの取り付け（単相モーターのみ）
付属コンデンサの容量が、モーター銘板に記載
されている容量と合っているか確認してくださ
い。M4 のねじ（付属していません）を使用して、
確実に取り付けてください。

重要 • 取付足の破損を防止するため、コンデンサ取付用のねじは、
1 N·m 以下で締め付けてください。
• コンデンサはモーターから 10 cm 以上離して取り付けてくださ
い。モーターの熱で、コンデンサの寿命が短くなります。
接 続
モーターと電源接続部、コンデンサ接続部など、すべての接続部は絶縁処
理をしてください。
安全のため、ブレーカまたはヒューズを電源ラインに設置してください。
モーターは保護接地端子を使用して接地してください。
回転方向はモーター出力軸側から見た場合です。時計方向を CW、反時計
方向を CCW としています。
 ギヤヘッド出力軸の回転方向
ギヤヘッドの減速比によっては、ギヤヘッド出力軸の回転方向はモーター
出力軸の回転方向と逆になります。使用するギヤヘッド出力軸の回転方向
を確認し、モーターの回転方向を決めて接続してください。

• 端子カバー裏面

• 端子箱内の保護接地端子 を使って接地してください。
• ケーブルは次の仕様のものを使用してください。
適用ケーブル径：Ø12～16 mm
適用リード線：AWG18（0.75 mm2）以上
• 端子カバーと端子箱との間に異物を挟み込まないように組み付けてくだ
さい。
• 端子カバー合わせ面の Oリングは、脱落しないような構造になっています
が、万一外れた際は端子カバー溝部にしっかりと装着してください。
• 端子カバーやケーブルグランドなどのねじの締付トルクは下表を参考に
してください。また、締付ナットを緩めて再度締め付ける際に、ニップルが
緩む場合があります。下の表を参考にして、増し締めしてください。

重要 • 端子箱のシール性を保つため、適用ケーブル径を守ってくだ
さい。
• モーター外部に露出したケーブルは、ストレスが加わらないよ
うに固定してください。
 接続図
図のように接続してください。回転方向はモーター出力軸側から見た場合
です。時計方向を CW、反時計方向を CCW としています。

 コンデンサの接続（単相モーターのみ）
コンデンサには 4つの端子があり、図のように端子 Aと端子 B、端子 Cと端
子Dが内部で接続されています。電気的には 2端子になります。圧着端子
を使用する場合は、ファストン・ターミナル 187 シリーズ（TE コネクティビ
ティ）を使用してください。
コンデンサ端子部の絶縁処理には、付属のコンデンサキャップを使用してく
ださい。

重要 1個の端子に 1本のリード線を接続してください。
 接続の簡略化
重要 上下駆動運転および三相モーターの場合は、接続を簡略化でき
ません。
モーターの運転／停止と、電磁ブレーキの運転／停止を 1個のスイッチ（接
点）で操作する場合は、下図のように接続してください。ただし、モーターの
磁気エネルギーが電磁ブレーキの巻線に作用するため、基本接続に比べ
て制動時間が約 50 ms 長くなり、オーバーランが増えます。

運 転
重要 • モーターを運転するときはモーターケース温度を 90 °C 以下
に抑えてください。90 °C を超えて運転すると、モーターの巻
線やボールベアリングの寿命が短くなります。モーターケース
の温度は、温度計、サーモテープ、熱電対などで測定してくだ
さい。
耐熱クラス：130（B）
• 単相モーターには付属のコンデンサを使用し、モーターが起
動した後もコンデンサは常時接続しておいてください。

 運転／停止
SW1 はモーターの運転／停止と電磁ブレーキの運転／停止用です。
SW1 をON にすると電磁ブレーキが解除され、モーターが回転します。
SW1 をOFF にすると電磁ブレーキが作動し、モーターは停止します。
重要 電磁ブレーキは摩擦式です。電磁ブレーキが作動すると摩擦音
がすることがありますが、異常ではありません。
上下駆動に使用する場合は、負荷が下降する場合があります。負荷の状況
を確認してから操作してください。
 回転方向の切り替え
• 単相モーター
SW2 をCW 側に倒すと時計方向、CCW 側に倒すと反時計方向に回転しま
す。
• 三相モーター
接続図どおりに接続すると、モーター出力軸から見て時計方向（CW）に回
転します。R、S、Tのどれか 2線を入れ替えると、反時計方向（CCW）に回転
します。
 その他の操作
• モーターの起動時間を短くする
あらかじめ電磁ブレーキを開放しておくと、短時間でモーターを起動できま
す。
モーターを起動させる 10 ms 以上前に、電磁ブレーキを開放してください。
• モーター停止時に電磁ブレーキを開放する
2か所の電磁ブレーキ用端子（MB）間に通電すると電磁ブレーキが開放さ
れ、モーター出力軸がフリーになります。
時間定格
• インダクションモーター
連続運転が可能です（連続定格）。
• レバーシブルモーター
連続運転可能時間は 30 分です。（30 分定格：銘板に「30 min」と記載されて
います。）
拘束時の焼損保護
モーターは、出力軸が拘束されたときの焼損保護機能を備えています。
• インピーダンスプロテクト方式
銘板に「ZP」と記載されています。このモーターは、巻線インピーダンスを大
きくしています。モーターが拘束されても電流（入力）の増加が抑えられ、内
部温度が一定の値以上にならないように設計されています。
故障の診断と処置
モーターの運転操作が正常に行なえないときには、この項をご覧になり、適
切な処置を行なってください。それでも正常に運転できないときは、最寄り
のお客様ご相談センターにお問い合わせください。
現象確認内容
• モーターが回転
しない。
• モーターが低速
で回転する。
• 電源電圧を確認してください。
• 電源とモーターを正しく接続してください。
• 単相モーターの場合は、付属のコンデンサを正しく
接続してください。
• 端子台や圧着端子を使用している場合は、接続不
良になっていないか確認してください。
• 負荷を許容値以下にしてください。
• 電磁ブレーキ用端子（MB）にかかる電圧を確認し
てください。
モーターが回転し
たり、しなかったり
する。
• 電源とモーターを正しく接続してください。
• 単相モーターの場合は、付属のコンデンサを正しく
接続してください。
• 端子台や圧着端子を使用している場合は、接続不
良になっていないか確認してください。
指定した方向とは
逆に回転する。
• 接続図を確認し、正しく接続してください。
• 単相モーターの場合は、付属のコンデンサを正しく
接続してください。
• ギヤヘッドの減速比によっては、モーター出力軸と
ギヤヘッド出力軸の回転方向が逆になります。
3ページ「ギヤヘッド出力軸の回転方向」を参照して
ください。
• 回転方向は、モーター出力軸側から見たときのもの
です。見る方向を確認してください。
モーターが異常に
熱くなる。

けてください。


Before use
Only qualified personnel should work with the product.
Use the product correctly after thoroughly reading the section “Safety
precautions”.
Should you require the inspection or repair of internal parts, contact the
Oriental Motor office where you purchased the product.
The product described in this manual has been designed and manufactured
for use in general industrial machinery, and must not be used for any other
purpose. Oriental Motor Co., Ltd. is not responsible for any damage caused
through failure to observe this warning.


Motors are recognized by UL and certified by CQC. Recognized name and
certified name are motor model name. Voluntary display of the CE Mark
conforming to the Low Voltage Directives.

• Install the motor in an enclosure in order to prevent electric shock or

• Keep the input power voltage within the specification to avoid fire and
electric shock.
• Connect the cables securely according to the wiring diagram in order to
prevent fire and electric shock.
• Do not forcibly bend, pull or pinch the lead wires (cables). Doing so may
result in fire and electric shock.
• Be sure to insulate the connection terminal of the capacitor. Failure to do
so may result in electric shock.
• Turn off the power in the event of a power failure, or the motor will
suddenly start when the power is restored and may cause injury or damage
to equipment.
• Do not touch the connection terminal of the capacitor immediately after
the power is turned off (for a period of 30 seconds). The residual voltage
may cause electric shock.
• Do not disassemble or modify the motor. This may cause electric shock or
injury.

Caution
• Do not use the motor beyond its specifications, or electric shock, injury or
damage to equipment may result.
• Do not touch the motor during operation or immediately after stopping.
The surface is hot and may cause a burn.
• Do not hold the motor output shaft. This may cause injury.
• Keep the area around the motor free of combustible materials in order to
prevent fire or a burn.
• To prevent the risk of damage to equipment, leave nothing around the
motor that would obstruct ventilation.
• To prevent bodily injury, do not touch the rotating parts (output shaft) of
the motor during operation.
• When an abnormality is noted, turn off the power immediately, or fire,
electric shock or injury may occur.
• The motor’s surface temperature may exceed 70 °C, even
under normal operating conditions. If a motor is accessible
during operation, post the warning label shown in the figure
in a conspicuous position to prevent the risk of burns. Warning

Installation

Location for installation
Install it in a well-ventilated location that provides easy access for inspection.
The location must also satisfy the following conditions:
• Inside an enclosure that is installed indoors (provide vent holes)
• Operating ambient temperature
−10 to +40 °C (+14 to +104 °F) (non-freezing)
−10 to +50 °C (+14 to +122 °F) for 100 V/200 V
• Operating ambient humidity 85% or less (non-condensing)
• Area that is free from an explosive atmosphere or toxic gas (such as
sulfuric gas) or liquid
• Area not exposed to direct sun
• Area free of excessive amount dust, iron particles or the like
• Area not subject to splashing water (storms, water droplets), oil (oil
droplets) or other liquids
• Area free of excessive salt
• Area not subject to continuous vibration or excessive shocks
• Area free of excessive electromagnetic noise (from welders, power
machinery, etc.)
• Area free of radioactive materials, magnetic fields or vacuum
• 1000 m or less above sea level
Note On rare occasions, grease may ooze out from the
gearhead. If there is concern over possible environmental
damage resulting from the leakage of grease, check for
grease stains during regular inspections. Alternatively,
install an oil pan or other device to prevent leakage from
causing further damage. Oil leakage may lead to problems
in the customer’s equipment or products.

Installing the motor
• Round shaft type
Drill holes on the mounting plate and fix the motor on the plate using screws,
nuts, and washers (not supplied). Be careful there is no gap between the
motor installation surface and the bracket.

Note Do not insert the motor into the mounting hole at an angle or
force it in, as this may scratch the flange pilot section and
damage the motor.
• Combination type
Drill holes on the mounting plate and fix the motor and gearhead on the plate
using supplied screws (4 pcs.). Be careful there is no gap between the
motor/gearhead assembly and the installation surface.

Installing/removing the gearhead
The gearhead can be removed and the cable gland position changed to a
desired 90° direction. The same procedure is followed when replacing the
gearhead.
1. Remove the hexagonal socket head
screws (2 pcs.) assembling the motor
and gearhead and detach the motor
from the gearhead.

2. Using the pilot sections of the motor and gearhead as guides, install the
gearhead to the motor.
At this time, the cable gland position can be changed to a desired 90°
direction. When installing the gearhead, slowly rotate it clockwise/
counterclockwise to prevent the pinion of the motor output shaft from
contacting the side panel or gear of the gearhead.
This flange surface is constructed to hold a O-ring. If this O-ring comes
out of the flange groove, reseal it correctly on the flange groove.
Also confirm that no gaps remain between the motor flange surface and
the end face of the gearhead’s pilot section.

After assembling the motor with the gearhead, install the motor/gearhead
assembly using mounting screws by referring to the explanation under
“Combination type”.
Note • Do not forcibly assemble the motor and gearhead. Also,
do not let metal objects or other foreign matters enter the
gearhead. The pinion or gear of the motor output shaft
may be damaged, resulting in noise or shorter service
life.
• Do not allow dust to attach to the pilot sections of the
motor and gearhead. Grease may leak from inside the
gearhead.
• The hexagonal socket head screws used to assemble
the motor and gearhead together only tentatively secure
the two components. Always use the four supplied
mounting screws when installing the motor/gearhead
assembly.


Pinion shaft type motors are used with a gearhead assembled.
Refer to figure above.

Mounting the capacitor (only for single-phase motors)
Before mounting the provided capacitor,
check that the capacitor’s capacitance
matches that stated on the motor’s name
plate. Mount the capacitor securely by using
M4 screws (not provided).

Note • Do not let the screw tightening torque exceed 1 N·m
(8.8 lb-in) to prevent damage to the mounting foot.
• Mount capacitor at least 10 cm (3.94 in.) away from the
motor. If it is located closer, the life of the capacitor will
be shortened.
Connection
Insulate all the wire connections, such as the connection between the motor
and the capacitor connection.
For safety’s sake, install a breaker or fuse in the power line.
Ground the motor using a Protective Earth Terminal.
The rotation direction is as viewed from the side of the motor’s output shaft.
The motor rotates in a clockwise (CW) and counterclockwise (CCW) direction.

Rotating direction of the gearhead output shaft
The rotating direction of the gearhead output shaft may be opposite that of
the motor shaft, depending on the gear ratio. Before performing wiring, be
sure to check the rotating direction of the gearhead output shaft to be used
and determine the desired direction of motor rotation.

• To ensure safety, ground the motor using the inside the terminal box.
• Use a cable of the following specifications:
Applicable cable diameter: ∅12 to 16 mm (∅0.47 to 0.63 in.)
Applicable lead wire: AWG18 (0.75 mm2) or more
• When sealing the terminal cover, ensure that no scraps or particles get
caught between the contact surfaces.
• This terminal cover is constructed to hold a O-ring. If this gasket comes
out of the cover, please reseal it correctly on the cover.
• Refer to the tightening torque table to determine the appropriate tightening
torque to use when fastening the terminal cover and cable gland.
Loosening and then tightening the nut again may cause the nipple to
become loose. In this case, securely tighten the nipple again to the
applicable torque specified in the table below [unit: N·m (lb-in)].

Note • To make shielding function fully effective, use a cable of

Wiring diagram
Connect the motor according to the figure. The direction of motor rotation is
as viewed from the side of the motor’s output shaft. The motor rotates in a
clockwise (CW) and counterclockwise (CCW) direction.

Connecting the capacitor (single-phase motor only)
Capacitor terminals are internally electrically connection in twos; A-B and
C-D for easy connection. For easy to install terminals use187 series FASTON
terminals (TE Connectivity).
Use the supplied capacitor cap to insulate the capacitor terminal connection.

Simplified connection
Note Wiring cannot be simplified for vertical drive applications or
three-phase motors.
If the “RUN/STOP” operation of the motor and “RUN/STOP” operation of
the electromagnetic brake are controlled via a single switch (contact),
connect the lead wires as shown in the figure below.
Note that the motor’s magnetic energy affects the electromagnetic brake
windings, resulting in a longer braking time than that of the basic wiring by
approximately 50 ms and thus increased overruns.

Operation
Note • Make sure that the motor case temperature does not
exceed 90 °C (194 °F) during operation of the motor.
Operation exceeding case temperature 90 °C (194 °F)
may significantly deteriorate the coils and ball bearings of
the motor and shorten the motor’s life span. Motor case
temperature can be measured by fixing a thermometer
on the motor surface. It can also be measured using
thermo tape or a thermocouple.

• Single-phase motors use a capacitor and keep it
connected even after rotation of the motor has started.

RUN/STOP
SW1 operates motor and electromagnetic brake action.
Motor will rotate when SW1 is switched simultaneously to ON (short
circuit).
When SW1 is switched simultaneously to OFF (open), the motor stops
immediately by electromagnetic brake and holds the load.
Note When operating the electromagnetic brake, there may be a
scraping noise because this braking system uses friction,
but this is not a problem.
The load may move downward in vertical drive applications. Check the
position of the load prior to operation.

Direction of rotation
• Single-phase motor
To rotate the motor in a clockwise (CW) direction, switch SW2 to CW.
To rotate it in a counter-clockwise (CCW) direction, switch SW2 to CCW.
• Three-phase motor
When connected according to the connection diagram, the motor will operate
in the clockwise direction (CW) as viewed from the motor’s output shaft.
To change the direction of rotation, change any two connections between R,
S and T.

Other operation
• Shortening the motor’s starting time
If the electromagnetic brake is left release, the motor can be started much
faster. Optimum timing for release of the brake is at least 10 ms before
starting up the motor.
• Releasing electromagnetic brake
If you wish to release the brake while the motor is stopped, apply voltage
between only the two brake terminals (MB). The electromagnetic brake is
released and the motor shaft can be free.
Time rating
• Induction motors
Induction motors have a continuous rating.
• Reversible motors
Reversible motors have a 30 minutes rating. (“30 min” is indicated on the
nameplate.)
Locked rotor burnout protection
The motor is equipped a function of overheat protection for when the motor
output shaft is locked.

Impedance protection
“ZP” is stamped on the motor nameplate. The motor has higher coil
impedance. When the motor goes into locked rotor condition due to a
malfunction, coil impedance rises, suppressing input power to the motor and
protecting the motor coil from burnout.
Troubleshooting
When the motor cannot be operated correctly, refer to the contents provided
in this section and take appropriate action. If the problem persists, contact
your nearest office.

• The rotating direction of the motor output
shaft may be different from that of the
gearhead output shaft depending on the gear
ratio of the gearhead. See “Rotation direction
of the gearhead output shaft” on page3.
• The rotating direction is indicated as viewed
from the motor output shaft. Check the
reference direction.
