this manual. Failure to observe precautions may result in injury or property damage.
Essential safety precautions are categorized as WARNINGS or CAUTIONS. The
meaning of each category is as follows.

Usage Precautions
WARNINGS
Failure to observe the instructions contained in a WARNING may result in death or severe injury.
Do not modify this product.
Modification of this product will void the warranty.
Do not attempt to carry out disassembly and repairs yourself.
Disassembly and repair must be carried out by the dealer or by qualified service
specialists. Improper servicing may result in misoperation than can in turn cause injury,
electric shock, or fire.
Do not operate switches while hands are wet.
Keep wet hands away from switches, electric plugs, and all other electrical components.
Touching electrical areas with wet hands may result in electric shock.
Do not run the product while the cabinet is open.
Touching the inside of the product while operation is in progress may result in injury or
electric shock.
Do not allow water to spray or spill onto or in the vicinity of this product.
Do not use water to clean this product. Water contact may result in fire or electric shock.
Do not damage or modify the power cord.
Do not place heavy objects on the cord, heat the cord, stretch the cord, or allow the cord to
become caught. Damage to the cord may result in electric shock or fire.
If this product operates abnormally, shut off operation and contact your
dealer or service specialist for advice.

Usage Precautions
CAUTIONS
Failure to observe the instructions contained in a CAUTION may result in injury or physical damage.
Do not feed incorrect liquid into the product.
This product is designed to operate with fresh water (compliant with the water standards
developed by the Japan Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association, see page
25) or with an ethylene-glycol water solution that has a concentration of 10% or lower. If
you are using pure water, use water with a conductivity of 1μS/cm or higher. Use of a
different type of liquid may damage the product and may lead to liquid leakage, electric
leakage, and electric shock.
Do not operate the product while the water circulation route is closed.
Running the product while water circulation is blocked may cause pump failure and water
leakage.
Do not sit on, lean on, or place objects on this product.
Overturning of product may result in injury or spillage. Spillage may in turn result in
electricity leakage.
Do not use flammable sprays in the vicinity of this product.
Also, do not place flammable objects in the vicinity of this product. Sparks generated by
switch action may ignite flammable material.
Keep hands clear of the fins when cleaning the condenser.
Touching fans may result in injury.
Never place fingers or objects（pencils, etc.）into the air intake and air
discharge areas.
Inserting fingers or objects into the path of fan rotation may result in injury.
Periodically check that the leakage breaker is working correctly.
A defective breaker may fail to trip in event of electric leakage, leading to risk of electric shock.
Be sure to include this operating manual if transferring this product to
another user.
If you sell or otherwise transfer this product to another user, tape this manual onto the
product so that the new user is sure to notice it. New users must read this manual to
ensure that they can operate this product safely.

Warning Label on Product
Warning Label on the Product
The warning labels shown below display important warnings, and the label on the front of the chiller
displays particularly important warnings. Be sure to read these warnings before operating this product. If
the labels become worn or damaged in any way, contact your dealer for a replacement.
To Maintain Efficient and Trouble-Free Performance
CAUTION
●The working water for this product is clean water (according to the water quality standard
set by the Japan Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association (see page 25 for
details)) or a water solution of 10% or lower concentration of industrial-use ethylene glycol.
Alternatively, if RO treated (deionized) is used, the water should have a conductivity of at
least 1 μS/cm (low-purity). Only use with designated waters. Cooling non-approved fluids
can result in product damage, leaking, and possible electric shock or electrical shorts.
1. If groundwater is to be used, have the groundwater checked and only use water that falls within the
indicated water standards.
2. When using RO treated (deionized) water, use water that has a conductivity of at least 1 μS/cm
(low purity). Operating on water that has a low conductivity value (high purity) can lead to
breakdown of the evaporator and/or pump. In addition, even if within normal operating ranges,
there would be no protection from metal ions being discharged from pipe fittings in the product.
(However there would be no problem regarding the mechanical strength of the product.)

3. Note the operating ranges and always operate the product within these ranges. Operating outside the
specified ranges can damage the product.

IMPORTANT
●Never operate the product when the pump is dry. Always fill the water tank and check the
water level before operating. Failure to add water and running the product dry can result in
pump breakdown.
4．Frequently turning on and off the product can damage it. After stopping the product, wait at least 3
minutes before starting again. Starting the product within 3 minutes after stopping will cause built-in
safety functions to activate and can cause damage to the compressor.
5．Confirm there is no dirt on the water piping and foot valve.
6．Always keep the water clean, inspect the water circuits monthly, and replace the water when
necessary.
(See "Water Circuit Inspection" on page 24 for details.)
7．Clean the condenser filter monthly.
（Refer to Page 23, “Cleaning The Condenser Filter”.）

WARNING
●Cut off power to the product before cleaning, servicing, or inspections. Failure to do so can
lead to electric shock or other injury from the fan.
8．Operate the product in an ambient temperature of 5 ~ 40℃.
Operating at temperature below 5℃will damage the compressor. Also, operating at above 40℃will
result in a drop in heat transfer of the condenser, and may cause built-in safety devices to activate,
and stopping of product operation.
If the ambient temperature could rise above 40℃, install ducting to bring outside air to the intake on
the cabinet, or ducting to release hot outlet air outside the room. Please consult with a qualified
professional if such work is to be carried out.

9．Please Consult with your dealer if the product stops due to activation of an internal safety device.
10．The water level in the tank may drop due to long piping, or operation of the product for the first time.
In such cases, stop the product, replenish the water, and restart the product.
11. When opening the product cabinet, please follow the instructions detailed in the operating manual.

WARNING
●Never operate the product when cabinet panels are open or removed. Touching components
inside the product may lead to injury or electric shock.
12. Do not operate the product with the pump water circuit blocked. Operating with the water circuit
closed can damage the pump, and heat generated from the product can cause piping to become
deformed and cause water leaks. It could also cause freezing in the evaporator which could lead to
breakdown or water leakage.
13. If the product is not to be used for an extended period, drain the water from the water circuit. Failure
to drain the water can result in freezing which could cause damage to the water circuit or pump.


If Starting Up For the First Time, or After Prolonged Period of Non-Use
WARNING
●Never operate switches with wet hands, and never touch electrical components. Improper
handling may result in electric shock.
WARNING
●Never operate the product while the cabinet is open or removed. Touching the inside of the
product may result in injury or electric shock.
●Do not use water to clean this product, and do not allow water to spray or spill onto or in the
vicinity of this product. Water contact may result in fire or electric shock.
WARNING
●If the product behaves abnormally, switch it off and then cut the power. Then contact your
dealer or product specialist. Continuing to run the product while operation is abnormal may
result in fire or electric shock.
CAUTION
●Do not loosen the priming water cap while the product is operating. Loosening the cap could
allow air to enter the pump, resulting breakdown due to running dry.
If Starting Up For the First Time, or After Prolonged Periods of Non-Use
Please note the following points before starting the product for the first time, or when restarting it
after a long period of non-usage.
1. Do not run the pump dry. Ensure reliable water circulation along with product pre-operation
procedures.
2. Ensure there is no water leakage along the piping.
3. This product operates on 3-phase power. If power phases are inverted, error code
will appear
on the display when you start up the power supply. If this occurs, please contact your dealer or
service specialist for assistance.(RKS500F, 750F)

Preparation
■Checking the Water Level.
Confirm there is water in the water tank.
Add water to the water tank. The amount of water should be at least the amount of water shown in the
following chart.

IMPORTANT
●If the amount of water is lacking, it could result in a high on / off cycling of the compressor,
which could result in damage to the compressor.
●Consult with a qualified specialist if the water tank capacity is too low or regarding
construction of an automatic water supply.
■Priming the Pump
1. Confirm that there is no dirt or other material clogging
the strainer assembly on the water intake side of the
water piping.
2. Wet the pump-priming port gasket with water
beforehand to make it slippery.
3. Slowly add water from the pump-priming port until the
water intake piping and pump are filled.
4. After filling, be sure to hand-tighten the pump-priming
port cap.
IMPORTANT
●Failure to prime the pump will cause the pump to run dry, preventing water from being chilled,
and it will also result in damage to the pump.
●Because of the strainer assembly, priming the pump is not required other than when the
product is operated the first time. However, the pump will need to be primed again, as was
done initially, after the water has been drained, after the pipes have been cleaned or air
entering the water circuit.
●Priming water only needs to be added so that the water intake piping and pump are filled. Be
careful not to add water too vigorously or all at once. Doing so can cause a siphon effect to
occur, causing the water to be drawn out of the water outlet port, and preventing the water
from collecting where it is needed for priming.
●Do not loosen the priming water cap while the product is operating. Loosening the cap could
allow air to enter the pump, resulting breakdown due to running dry.

Local operation Mode（Operation using the Control Plate）
Local Operation Mode (Operation Using the Control plate)
The product can be controlled locally if parameter "F2" is set to either "0" or "2". (The factory default setting
is "2".) If parameter "F2" is changed, parameter "F1" will automatically be reset at the same time. Therefore,
after changing "F2", check the value of "F1" and change the value if required.


■Normal Operation
1. Turn on the product.
After is shown in the digital display for a few seconds, the measured temperature will be
shown.
2. Set the desired water temperature.
(1) Press and hold the [SET] switch for 2 seconds. The current water temperature setting will
flash in the display.
(2) Enter the desired water temperature setting by pressing the temperature adjustment switches.
Note that the temperature setting range is 5 ~ 25℃.
(3) Press the SET switch. The display will return to the measured temperature mode and the
setting is complete.
3. Press the ON/OFF switch.
The COOLER lamp (green) will light and the product will be operating.
※Operation will occur automatically using the thermo controller and the water temperature will
be maintained.
※The water temperature setting is stored so it is not necessary to change the setting each time
the product is used.
4. Press the ON/OFF switch again to stop operation.
The COOLER lamp will go out, and the product will be OFF.








Local Operation Mode / Remote Operation mode
■Circulation Pump Independent Operation
1．While pressing the temperature adjust switch ▲, press the cooler ON/OFF switch.
The cooler operation lamp will flash, the digital display will show “ ”, and the circulation pump
will be operating.
2．To stop the product, press the “Cooler ON/OFF switch” again
The cooler operation lamp will go out, and the product will stop.
※To switch between circulation pump independent operation and regular operation, temporarily stop
the product and then start it again. The product cannot enter the normal operating mode from the
circulation pump independent operating mode.
IMPORTANT
●If parameter "F99" (settings lock) is set to "1" then water temperature setting cannot be
changed. Change "F99" to "0" before changing water temperature setting. (The factory default
for this setting is “2”.)
●If product parameter "F2" (Local / remote operation priority) is set to "0" (local operation only)
then the product cannot be operated from the remote control. (The factory default for this
setting is "2".) See page 19 for information on how to change parameter settings.
●Frequently turning on and off the product can damage it. After stopping the product, wait at
least 3 minutes before starting again.

Remote Operation Mode
If parameter “F2” is set to “1”, then the product can be operated as follows:
■Starting the product
Turn ON (short) the remote switch.（Short terminals 14 and 15）
■Stopping the product
Turn OFF (open) the remote switch.（Open terminals 14 and 15）
IMPORTANT
●If product parameter “F2” (Local/remote operation priority) is set to “0” (local operation only)
then the product cannot be operated from the remote control. (The factory default for this
setting is “2”) See page 19 for information on how to change parameter settings.
※In order to turn on and off the product by switching on and off the power source, change
parameter "F1" to "2", and short terminals "14" and "15" using the included wiring.

If parameter “F2” is set to “2” (factory default setting), then the product can be operated as
follows:
■Starting The Product
1．When the remote switch is OFF (terminals 14 and 15 are open), and the product is not
running :
Press the cooler ON/OFF switch on the control plate or turn ON the remote control switch (short
terminals 14 and 15).
2．When the remote switch is ON (terminals 14 and 15 are shorted), and the product is not
running:
Press the cooler ON/OFF switch on the control plate or turn OFF the remote control switch (open
terminals 14 and 15 for at least 1 second) and then switch it on again (short terminals 14 and 15
again) to switch on the product.
■Stopping The Product
1．When the remote switch is ON (terminals 14 and 15 are shorted), and the product is running:
Press the cooler ON/OFF switch on the control plate or turn OFF the remote control switch (open
terminals 14 and 15) to turn off the product.
2．When the remote switch is OFF (terminals 14 and 15 are open), and the product is running:
Press the cooler ON/OFF switch on the control plate or turn ON the remote control switch (short
terminals 14 and 15 for at least 1 second) and then switch it OFF again (open terminals 14 and 15
again) to switch the product off.











IMPORTANT
●When the power supply is restored, wait at least 5 seconds before providing the remote signal.
●After turning off (opening) the remote switch, if the main power is to be turned off, wait at least
2 seconds after turning off the remote switch before turning off the main power.

■How to Confirm the Temperature Setting
1. Press the "SET" switch.
The water temperature setting will show on the digital display for several seconds.
■How to Clear an Alarm
1. Press the "RESET" switch.
After removing the actual cause of the alarm, pressing the reset switch will clear the alarm.
IMPORTANT
●If the same alarm occurs repeatedly, there is likely an abnormal operating condition. In such
cases, please consult with your dealer as soon as possible.



IMPORTANT
●If signal outputs are to be used, please ask your dealer or other qualified person to perform
the required wiring and installation.

■Operating Signal
The signal will be output from when the product is turned on by pushing the ON/OFF switch,
and will continue to be output until the ON/OFF switch is pushed again to stop the product.
Note however that the operating signal will be cut off if operation stops due to an alarm
condition.
The operating signal will not be output during pump-independent operation.

■Alarm Signals
In case there is a problem with the product, an error will be indicated on the control plate. In
addition to this display, the following alarm signals will be generated.
※and warning signals will not be output.

■Notes Regarding Usage
1. Keep the water consistently clean by periodically washing and cleaning components of the
water circuit and condenser, etc.
2. In the event that a built-in safety device activates and the product shuts down, be sure to
note the displayed error code before cutting off power to the product. After doing so, refer
the section on page 27, "Troubleshooting". Operation can resume after the problem is
resolved.

3. The water level in the prepared water tank may go down if water pipes are long or after
starting the product for the first time. If this occurs, stop operation, add water, and start
again.

The product operation can be stopped by two or more errors. Thus, you must check the error number
every time pressing the reset switch.

This product can display operational data in the digital display on the control panel.
1. Hold down the SET switch on the control plate for 7 seconds to switch the temperature setting
blinking on the digital display to alternate display of "Hr." and the "accumulated operating hours".
2. Press the Temperature Adjustment switch (▲) to display ①and ②→⑥and ⑦in turn, and the
Temperature Adjustment switch (▼) to display ⑦and ⑥→②and ①in turn.

Setting and Changing Parameters
Various functions of the product can be selected by changing parameter settings.
■Parameter Setting Overview
Example: Display and change the “F5” parameter (Audible alarm enable/disable).
(This example will show to change the audible alarm from the factory default setting of “1” to “0”.)
1．While holding down the ▲
switch, press the ▼switch. →
Doing so switches to the parameter display mode.
